Yuan Xi consumed an elixir to gain the power of Laws, allowing him to fight Chen Nan with newfound strength, but at the cost of his future cultivation. Despite his power, Yuan Xi was overwhelmed by Chen Nan's continuous onslaught of techniques, including the Hongmeng Origin Thunder, Array Swords, and Heaven and Earth Spirit Fires. In a final desperate move, Yuan Xi unleashed the Golden Rule, only for Chen Nan to unleash a Jade Seal that ultimately crushed Yuan Xi. Meanwhile, Guo Yun, betrayed by the Demon Sect and escaping from the Righteous Alliance, fled with a burning desire for revenge.

"Guo Yun has made his escape? As I predicted."

The news reached Chen Nan three days after the fact. He was already back in their camp, and not a single cultivator bothered to inquire about the actual events that transpired.

When Liu Hanyue reported to Jiang Wuyue, she deliberately concealed Chen Nan's true identity. She merely stated that Chen Nan was her man, which led Jiang Wuyue to forgo any further investigation.

In response to Guo Yun's escape, the Righteous Alliance promptly issued a warrant, declaring a bounty for the capture of the traitor, Guo Yun.

Upon hearing the news, Master Canglan was so shocked he nearly passed out. After countless millennia of existence, he had painstakingly nurtured seven disciples, only to witness them all annihilated. It was a small mercy he hadn't succumbed to rage and died right then and there.

"Canglan, perhaps it's time for you to take a respite," Jiang Wuyue expressed with sympathy for the elderly man, who was now left without even a single attendant.

At that very moment, Master Canglan fixated his gaze upon Xu Yan, his voice raspy with anguish. "Why? Why did you have to kill them? Can I not offer atonement for their transgressions?"

Xu Yan gave a cold snort, his unyielding character preventing him from displaying any trace of warmth, even towards Master Canglan.

"I witnessed firsthand their collusion with the Demon Sect. I commanded them to surrender, yet they defied me. Under such circumstances, their demise was inevitable," Xu Yan declared. "Master Canglan, your foremost disciple, Guo Yun, has absconded. I trust you shall not offer him sanctuary; such traitors warrant the condemnation of all!"

Master Canglan's hand trembled as he pointed a shaky finger at Xu Yan. "You... you are simply too insolent!"

Xu Yan let out another frigid snort. "This falls within the purview of our Law Enforcement Hall's duties. Were it even my own son who dared to conspire with the Demon Sect, he would face unpardonable execution!"

Master Canglan was plunged into profound grief. In that instant, a potent urge to obliterate everything overwhelmed him.

Yet, he ultimately suppressed the impulse. He rose unsteadily, his form appearing to age by ten thousand years in the span of a breath.

"My disciples from Canglan, for colluding with the Demon Sect, their deaths are deserved. I implore the Alliance Hierarch to dispense justice impartially," he stated.

He then departed the main hall without a backward glance.

Jiang Wuyue exhaled a deep sigh and turned to Xu Yan. "Elder Xu, let us temporarily suspend the pursuit of Guo Yun. Our paramount objective must be confronting the Demon Clan."

Xu Yan inclined his head. "Very well, I shall abide by the Alliance Hierarch's command."

Jiang Wuyue shook his head in resignation; Master Canglan's disciples truly were a constant source of trouble.

Meanwhile, Guo Yun arrived at a bustling island, home to an Immortal Cultivation Market where numerous cultivators congregated for trade.

Severely wounded, he sought refuge in a populous area, believing it would complicate any thorough search.

However, as he ambled down the thoroughfare, intent on purchasing some restorative pills, his eyes suddenly fell upon a familiar figure.

"The Divine Calculator!" he spat the name through gritted teeth.

The distinctive figure undeniably belonged to the Divine Calculator.

Clad in a Daoist robe and carrying a white banner emblazoned with the words "Divine Calculator", he seemed almost eager for recognition.

In that moment, Guo Yun's thoughts were a chaotic storm of rage. He cared not for the Divine Calculator's presence there; all that mattered was eliminating him!

"Even in my current state, dispatching you will be akin to crushing dry weeds. Today, I shall avenge my fallen brethren!"

With that declaration, he gave chase.

The Divine Calculator sauntered along the street, his gaze frequently lingering on the comely women who passed by, a lecherous glint in his eyes.

Suddenly, he halted, a sixth sense alerting him to being followed.

"Hmm? Could it be an adversary?"

Employing his divine sense to scan, he detected the shadowy figure trailing him as an unfamiliar cultivator. The individual's Qi faltered; it was evident they were grievously injured.

"Curious. Targeting the Daoist? Do they mistake me for a pushover? Hehe, this Daoist enjoys feigning ignorance to ensnare the cunning," he mused.

The Divine Calculator chuckled, maintaining his pretense, and continued his leisurely pace, soon leaving the marketplace behind.

Guo Yun shadowed him, their movements a silent dance, until they reached a desolate stretch of ocean.

"Divine Calculator, I shall see you dead!"

Unable to contain his fury any longer, Guo Yun unleashed a roar as he charged forward.

The Divine Calculator arched an eyebrow. "Oh? You are acquainted with this Daoist? Yet, this Daoist recalls no offense given to you."

"However, it matters little. This Daoist has offended countless; you are but a minor annoyance!"

Gazing at the venomous hatred in Guo Yun's eyes, he let out a cold sneer. Abruptly, he produced a compass, its needle spinning wildly before settling decisively on the 'shock' position.

"A formation of wind and thunder," he announced.

As the words left his lips, a bolt of lightning descended, striking the already weakened Guo Yun. He cried out in agony, nearly plummeting from the sky.

He cried out in sheer terror: "You... you're actually in the Nascent Soul Realm?"

The Divine Calculator let out a smug chuckle, "You came to find me, yet you're unaware of my cultivation? I'm rather curious as to when precisely I managed to offend you?"

Guo Yun sensed that something was amiss; the Divine Calculator before him was entirely unlike the one he knew, and at this moment, a suspicion began to form in his mind.

He must have encountered two different Divine Calculators, individuals who were completely distinct from one another.

He had mistaken the identity!

"Wait, I've mistaken you for someone else. Let's just pretend we never met," Guo Yun declared, turning to make his escape.

However, when facing the Divine Calculator, it was as if the very ground would be stripped away; how could he possibly allow such a valuable prize to slip through his fingers?

"Hehe, the Daoist doesn't approve of you leaving. Having dared to attack him, how could he possibly let you go?"

With a slight smile, the compass needle spun once more, landing precisely on the position of the wind. Instantly, a powerful gust materialized from nowhere, transforming into a raging storm that enveloped Guo Yun.

The tempest threatened to tear Guo Yun asunder, its wind blades savagely raking across his body.

"Don't kill me! I haven't taken my revenge yet; I don't wish to die!"

In this moment, Guo Yun had long since shed the arrogance befitting a Nascent Soul True Man; all he desired was to cling to life.

The Divine Calculator let out a cold sneer, "Begging for mercy? The Daoist shows no kindness. He trusts no one and leaves no potential trouble behind."

Having spoken, he pointed forward, and a torrent of immense mana coalesced into a colossal golden finger, pressing down ruthlessly upon Guo Yun.

"No!"

Guo Yun screamed, his physical body being instantly shredded by the raging storm. Within the tempest, a small, translucent figure materialized – his Nascent Soul.

Regrettably, the Nascent Soul was riddled with cracks, continuously assailed by the brutal wind blades, until it, too, shattered completely.

The Divine Calculator offered a faint smile. After dissipating the storm, he surprisingly produced a small wooden fish and a tiny hammer from within his robes. Sitting cross-legged on the ground, he began to chant Buddhist scriptures for the transcendence of souls, tapping the wooden fish rhythmically.

Were it not for the fact that he was clad in Daoist robes, one might easily mistake him for a Buddhist monk.

Upon completing the ritual of transcendence, the Divine Calculator chuckled. Whether Nascent Soul or Divine Soul, both were now utterly deceased and beyond any hope of resurrection, thus leaving no lingering threats behind.
