Chen Nan's devastating strike wiped out hundreds of demon cultivators, igniting excitement among the defenders on Ten Thousand Treasures City's walls, though Ning Yu worried it would draw stronger foes. As predicted, a Seventh Level Golden Core demon leader charged at him, only to fall to Chen Nan's relentless assault using the Star Constellation Sword Formation, Great Compassion Buddha Palm, Heaven-Burning Flame, and Sword Chenyuan, his body split asunder. Absorbing the resulting Blood Evil Qi loosened Chen Nan's cultivation via the Taotie Technique, and he provocatively pointed his sword at the three Golden Core Great Perfection demons on the flying boat, spurring the Old Ghost to confront him.

To vie for Chen Nan, Old Ghost instantly agreed to Lu Xingmian’s demand without any delay.

"Hehe, I won’t hold you back, but this young man has to be mine!"

His raspy voice echoed as he ran his tongue over his lips with an avaricious expression, his stare practically stuck to Chen Nan.

For he had never encountered anyone possessing such plentiful life force!

The method Old Ghost cultivated was known as the "Blood Demon Technique," a wicked practice that thrived on drawing out the blood of others. Thus, to him, Chen Nan’s overflowing vitality made the boy seem like the ultimate delicacy.

He advanced lightly, and demonic qi coalesced into a dark mist beneath his feet, propelling him straight toward Chen Nan.

"As expected."

Spotting just a single figure approaching through the air, Chen Nan felt a wave of relief wash over him inwardly.

His initial strategy had been to take them down individually. Should all three Golden Core Realm Great Perfection experts assault him together, he’d find himself in a perilous bind.

Luckily, events unfolded just as he’d predicted. Being consummate masters of the Golden Core Realm, the trio carried their own sense of arrogance and wouldn’t stoop to ganging up on one lone fighter.

As Old Ghost, nearly bald with just a few strands left, soared forward, Chen Nan vaulted skyward too, meeting him head-on.

Aboard the flying boat, Ye Xiaoyun couldn’t suppress her anxiety watching this unfold. Even though they’d sworn not to interfere with one another, if Chen Nan truly met harm, she’d struggle to justify it.

"Perhaps... I ought to assist him?"

Glancing over at Lu Xingmian nearby, Ye Xiaoyun abandoned the idea, aware that in terms of power, she paled against Lu Xingmian.

Should she step in, Lu Xingmian could turn on her too, and that wouldn’t be a smart gamble.

"I’ll handle it as it comes. For a guy who drew the attention of the Demon Sect Saintess, dying shouldn’t come so lightly, should it?" Ye Xiaoyun whispered under her breath.

By then, Old Ghost had arrived right before Chen Nan, growing more delighted with every glance. "Kid, your boldness is impressive, but the Righteous Alliance are nothing but pretentious fools—throwing you out solo, aren’t they just dooming you?"

"Still, I’ll offer you an out. Turn into my blood slave, and not only do you survive, I’ll grant whatever your heart desires. What do you say?"

Avoiding combat altogether and securing Chen Nan as his personal blood source would delight Old Ghost. After all, in a real scrap, he might ruin his prize in the process.

"You’ll give me whatever I desire?" Chen Nan countered unexpectedly.

Catching that hint of possible consent, Old Ghost pressed on eagerly, "Absolutely, name it, and it’s yours!"

"Fine then," Chen Nan shot back with a mocking grin, "I desire your life."

At those words, Old Ghost’s face twisted in fury, and he fixed Chen Nan with a savage glare. "Looks like you prefer the hard road and a dose of torment. Time to make you regret it."

A sudden flare of crimson radiance burst from his form. With a snap of his finger, three blood-red projectiles formed from the glow, each shimmering with liquid blood and wrapped in crackling dark qi.

"Blood Arrow Technique!"

The trio of blood arrows launched abruptly, slicing through the air with piercing shrieks. Even afar, the malevolent vibe pouring from them hung heavy.

Chen Nan narrowed his eyes, channeling every bit of focus. Though his foe wasn’t at Nascent Soul level, a Golden Core Realm Great Perfection powerhouse remained a deadly threat.

The tiniest error might end him.

He’d arrived ready to embrace death if needed, yet he refused to squander his life pointlessly here.

As the blood arrows hurtled closer with their eerie howls, Chen Nan’s stare intensified. His eyes flashed while the Sword Chenyuan in his grasp slashed forth, enveloped in brilliant electric arcs.

The crackling bolts collided with the blood arrows, detonating in a chain of thunderous roars, shattering the dark qi around them and releasing a savage force all together.

The lead two arrows fell to one swift cut, dissolving into twin puddles of gore. Before Chen Nan could strike the last one, it burst apart on its own, scattering into myriad blood specks that splattered across his frame.

Immediately, a searing pain drilled through his flesh and invaded his insides. Peering down, he noted his robes eaten away by the droplets, riddled with gaping tears.

He hastily shed his outer layer and discarded it. Where the blood had touched, his skin showed angry red welts from the burns.

He’d held back on activating the Jiao Long Armor, planning to unleash it as a shock later; a mighty ace like that demanded careful concealment.

"Hah, kid, you’re way too green, aren’t you? Now you’ve tasted this old man’s might—want another shot at being my blood slave?"

Old Ghost’s gaze burned hungrily on Chen Nan, his tongue darting out repeatedly in eager anticipation. The nearer he drew, the more that radiating vitality pulled him in.

He even sensed vaguely that Chen Nan’s blood could prove a tremendous boon for him!

"Keep dreaming!"

Chen Nan bellowed with icy resolve. Radiant Buddha Light bloomed from him, and he pinched a mudra with one hand. The Shariputra hovering overhead ignited in a fierce golden blaze.

"Great Compassion Buddha Palm!"

"Hmph, ungrateful wretch!" Old Ghost scoffed. As the colossal golden hand plummeted from above, he sneered dismissively, "Buddhist Sect gimmicks are such a nuisance!"

He thrust his palm skyward, unleashing a vast cloud of blood fog from his core. From within rose a scarlet spectral claw, slamming hard against the Buddha’s hand.

A deafening crash rang out as both massive forms vanished in the clash, but the ensuing shockwave, like a raging storm, shredded nearby demon cultivators to bits in a flash.

Gore sprayed across the earth, staining it a vivid scarlet.

The gruesome end of those demon cultivators stirred no pity in Old Ghost. There were always more to spare. Yet as he peered ahead, he spotted two enormous creatures barreling his way.

These were manifestations of pure energy, pulsing with potent might—none other than Chen Nan’s invoked tooth chains.

"So that’s why you dared venture out solo. If these are your backups, you might as well surrender."

Old Ghost huffed disdainfully. Though the pair exuded Golden Core Realm Great Perfection pressure, they fell short of a genuine one.

With a casual twitch of his fingers, fresh blood arrows materialized amid the encircling blood fog, now in thick clusters, swarming forth like a horde.

In a mere instant, the two creatures became sieves, full of holes. They mended swiftly, sure, but that would drain Chen Nan’s spiritual energy considerably.

A few arrows veered toward Chen Nan, compelling him to dodge frantically. The bloody essence in them carried a biting corrosion he couldn’t simply endure.

But the arrows seemed to gain a life of their own, chasing after Chen Nan relentlessly, merging into a raging crimson flood.

"Yield without a fight!" Old Ghost cried out in thrill.

Yet in a flash, an intense glare exploded from Chen Nan’s figure, blazing with scorching fervor akin to a miniature star!
