Chen Jie successfully refined six Thousand Poison Brain God Pills and forced the four elders—Chou Niu, Mei Tu, Monkey, and Chen Long—to consume them, binding them to his will under threat of brain-eating worms. He declined to control Du Xiong, fearing retaliation from his father Du Zundao, and instead plotted to secure the Melt God Pill by surrendering the Qiankun Great Method and rescuing Liu Futong. With Du Xiong as leverage, the group prepared to confront Du Zundao's blockade at the entrance.

Speaking for Du Xiong, Liu Caidie prompted Han Ling’er to furrow her brows and remark, "He only has one son, and he’s confident enough that he can have another one. Can he really afford to gamble?"

"It depends on what’s at stake," Liu Caidie replied. "If the stakes are high enough, why wouldn’t he be willing to sacrifice? If it involves the Qiankun Great Method and the position of Sect Hierarch, I think he would be more than willing to take that gamble."

"But..."

Han Ling’er was about to add more when Chen Jie waved his hand, interrupting with, "Alright, don’t we still have the Four Great Elders? Let them hold the line for a while and buy us some time to escape. Isn’t that also a good plan?"

"Huh?"

Chen Jie’s words made the Four Great Elders’ faces darken instantly, as they sensed they were being tossed aside as cannon fodder.

Noticing the unhappy looks across the group, Chen Jie grinned and said, "Alright, just kidding. The Ruins don’t have just one exit. Du Zundao is probably guarding the exit we entered from, so we can just use another exit."

"There are other exits?"

A wave of shock swept over everyone, since they had no idea the Ruins featured multiple exits.

Chen Jie chuckled, commenting, "You really have no understanding of your ancestors’ wisdom, do you?"

With those words, Chen Jie formed hand seals to invoke the Qiankun Great Method. A Yin Yang Fish instantly materialized in front of him. He slammed it down onto the ground, parting a passage. Shortly after, a deep pit yawned open below, visible to all.

Chen Jie jumped in first. The others followed suit right away, sliding a great distance as if delving deeper into the Ruins.

Soon enough, solid ground met their feet once more, and they stood within a gigantic tunnel. Chen Jie guided them onward in one direction until they reached a circular chamber from which dozens of pathways branched out.

Chen Jie announced, "This is the second layer of the Ruins, the most core area of the entire Zoroastrian Sect."

He went on, "Apart from the path we took to get here that leads to the Forbidden Land, you can choose any of these other paths."

Silence fell after Chen Jie spoke. After what felt like ages, Chou Niu jabbed a finger toward one direction, declaring, "I want to take this path."

The rest itched to mock Chou Niu silently, questioning if this was truly the moment for picking routes.

To their surprise, Chen Jie nodded, saying, "Very well, then let’s go with your choice."

Thus, the group pressed ahead along that path, oblivious to how far they traveled. Abruptly, horrifying battle clamor reached their ears from outside.

Shocked, everyone rushed forward in haste.

They arrived at the cave mouth then, spotting the exit embedded in a cliff face. But the cliff itself wasn’t their main worry—what truly gripped them lay below it.

"That’s the Heavenly Dangerous Pass, my goodness, this..."

Elder Shen Hou gaped at the spectacle, blurting out in astonishment. His words drew the others’ eyes to the cliffside scene below, leaving them all utterly speechless for a beat!

Chen Jie gazed down as well, struck just as hard by the brutal clash unfolding. Smoke blanketed the battlefield, strewn with corpses and the stench of flesh charred by the Fiery Fire Flag.

Other bodies had melted into pools of black sludge, dissolved by the Flood Flag’s Corpse Dissolving Water. At the heart of the fray, endless soldiers tangled in frenzied combat.

Treasure Elephant Army’s mighty elephant soldiers hammered against Giant Wood Flag bruisers swinging Double Maces, while Sharp Gold Flag troops loosed arrows at the White Deer Army in fierce exchanges.

Zoroastrian Sect disciples from halls across the sect swung swords and blades wildly against the Grey Wolf Army. Steel clanged amid roars from men and beasts alike, forging a mountainside battle that froze every witness in horror.

The same chilling realization struck everyone at once!

The court has launched an attack on the mountain!
