Internal power struggles intensify within the Zoroastrian Sect as Bright Peak faces a siege from the imperial court and the Six Great Sects. Mr. Guan and Du Zundao have successfully poisoned and imprisoned Liu Futong to prevent his leadership, though they remain deadlocked over his ultimate fate. Du Zundao now seeks to solidify his path to power by retrieving the legendary Qiankun Great Method from the ancient Ruins. He has secured a tentative promise from Mr. Guan to support his claim as the new Sect Hierarch if he succeeds, provided they resolve the lingering threat posed by the imprisoned Liu Futong.

"If I engage in a fierce battle with the Master, we will both end up severely wounded, and the Holy Sect will be the one that ultimately suffers. Mr. Guan, aren’t you always preoccupied with the broader interests of the Holy Sect? You wouldn't sit idly by while our conflict tears the Holy Sect apart, would you?"

Upon hearing this, Mr. Guan furrowed his brows and replied, "You cannot kill the Master."

"If I leave him alive, how can I securely grasp the position of Sect Leader?"

Mr. Guan countered, "Kill Han Lin’er instead."

Du Zundao shook his head and argued, "Taking his life will only further enrage the Master, leading to a fight to the bitter end."

"Mr. Guan!"

Du Zundao stared intensely at Mr. Guan and declared, "Unless the Master is dead, I shall never have peace of mind."

Mr. Guan said, "But the Master has contributed so much to the Holy Sect..."

Du Zundao let out a soft chuckle and gazed at Mr. Guan, asking, "Contributions? What kind of contributions? If we are discussing merits, who among us doesn’t have a few to brag about? Yet, the situation remains that without his death, I cannot feel secure in this Sect Leader throne. How could I tolerate another person slumbering peacefully beside my bed?"

Mr. Guan looked at Du Zundao and asked, "Is there no alternative path?"

Du Zundao laughed and retorted, "Mr. Guan, why does your brilliance desert you whenever the Master is involved? You pose such naive inquiries for someone who calls himself the Duozhi Fox. The path to the Sect Leader role has always been soaked in blood; could there ever be another way? Quit joking."

Hearing these words, Mr. Guan remained silent for a long duration before finally speaking, "Regardless, the Master must not be killed."

"Why are you being so stubborn?"

Du Zundao pressed, looking him directly in the eye, "What if he cannot be killed?"

The Duozhi Fox offered no response.

After a moment, Du Zundao relented, "Fine, I will compromise. He doesn't have to die, but his cultivation must be dismantled. Should we fail to do this, our Zoroastrian Sect will never know tranquility. This is my absolute bottom line, Mr. Guan; do not make things difficult for me."

Following this statement, the Duozhi Fox fell into deep contemplation. Then, looking up at Du Zundao, he sighed, appearing unwilling to exhaust his breath further on this argument, and said, "Fine, we shall proceed as you desire. His martial arts may be crippled."

"But you must reclaim the Qiankun Great Method. Without it, our agreements hold no weight. Do you agree?"

Upon hearing this, Du Zundao looked at the Duozhi Fox and replied, "Very well, I agree."

The two solidified their bargain instantly, followed by a stretch of silence. Eventually, Du Zundao observed Mr. Guan and whispered, "Mr. Guan, have you ever felt concerned that if the Master regains his cultivation, he might seek revenge against you?"

"To kill you or cripple you?"

Mr. Guan replied, "I have never been worried."

"That is impossible. How can you be so composed?"

Du Zundao asked skeptically, as he himself had not enjoyed a night of sound sleep recently.

Mr. Guan explained, "Because I have never felt that I am betraying the Venerable. As long as the Venerable consents to my holding the position of Sect Leader, I would harbor no resentment even if he chose to kill me right now. I have always yearned for the Zoroastrian Sect to flourish. I am selfless, and therefore, I fear nothing."

Hearing this, Du Zundao cast a glance at Mr. Guan and remarked, "You are selfless, how remarkably noble. Could it be that I am the only one harboring selfish intent? When the Han Sect Leader remained in power, I never harbored any disloyalty. However, the Holy Sect is now at a critical juncture, and the young one is ill-equipped for such great responsibilities. If I do not ascend to the Sect Leader role, who will? I am simply trying to hold up a crumbling structure. One day, when the Zoroastrian Sect becomes the Common Lord of the world, you will all offer me your thanks."

As Du Zundao finished, Mr. Guan gazed at him and said, "Whether you are selfless or selfish is of no concern to me. As matters stand, if you uphold your end of the bargain, I shall support your position as Sect Leader. Should you fail..."

Mr. Guan left the sentence unfinished, stood up, and commanded, "Let us move on to other matters..."
