Da Xuan Martial Saint Chapter 1510 - 725: Encountering the Exotic Beast Again

Previously on Da Xuan Martial Saint...
The team, led by Wutian Venerable, forged an oath to the Origin Dao, pledging to harvest mystical artifacts from the Source Sea and distribute them by contribution, with any Primordial Marvel reserved for the strongest among them, Chen Mu. Though less bound by the vow due to his mastery of Void and Creation Daos, Chen Mu joined without intent to betray, his focus on imminent enlightenment in the Time Dao rendering lesser treasures irrelevant. As they plunged into the vast, perception-shrouding Source Sea, a crimson shadow—a Spirit of the Fallen Venerable, an echo of an ancient Dao Venerable eroded by the Origin Dao—lunged at Chen Mu, their clash ending in a tense standoff before the apparition faded. Wutian explained these spectral threats, born of chaotic time and assimilated essences, posed greater danger than exotic beasts, their power rivaling or exceeding living Dao Venerables despite their fleeting existence.

Before even entering the Source Sea, all of them had already learned about the conditions in this place and understood the danger posed by the Spirit of the Fallen Venerable. Still, as Dao Venerables who attained enlightenment in this Reincarnation Era, it marked their initial direct encounter with such a spirit.

Yet, this didn't cause them to delay for an extended period.

"Let’s go,"

After gazing briefly at the spot where the Spirit of the Fallen Venerable had vanished, Wutian Venerable and his companions promptly resumed their journey.

Within the Source Sea, the Spirit of the Fallen Venerable represents mere nuisance, offering zero rewards upon defeat. On the other hand, Venerable Level Exotic Beasts, though posing some risk, hold substantial worth when their bodies are claimed after being slain.

Chen Mu quickly reflected on the strike from that previous clash. Despite confronting a projection of an ancient Venerable fully consumed by the Great Dao, what he truly withstood was an amalgamation of Primordial Power.

This reveals that the Spirits of the Fallen Venerable simply manifest aspects of the Great Dao, bearing no ties to their former existences.

Regardless of their unmatched might in bygone days or their dazzling achievements back then, they now lack any consciousness, fully integrated into the Origin Dao, drifting along with the Origin River.

...

Chen Mu and his allies pressed onward.

Soon enough.

Amid the far-off, all-encompassing glow of the Great Dao, an immense and splendid expanse of terrain emerged.

Though referred to as land, the term falls short of precision, since the expansive Source Sea consists solely of Primordial Power, and this land-like region is merely a hardened manifestation of it.

"Hmm?"

"Let’s go take a look."

Wutian Venerable along with the rest also spotted this stretch of land. With little deliberation, they swiftly agreed to investigate.

For quite some time, they had roamed the Source Sea, facing only one Spirit of the Fallen Venerable and no real chances. Spotting this peculiar landmass amid the boundless Source Sea, it was only natural for them to desire a closer examination.

Swish! Swish!!!

The group moved as one, all landing on the land simultaneously, with Chen Mu trailing right behind.

The moment their feet touched this terrain, Chen Mu sensed a faint heaviness in his frame. No assault had struck him; instead, the dense Primordial Power embedded in the land created a more intense binding pressure.

That said, as Dao Venerables, they weren't hindered by the basic coercive nature of Primordial Power. Upon detecting this peculiar force, from Wutian Venerable to Beast Divine Venerable, nearly everyone displayed signs of delight.

Something promising lies within!

The Source Sea forms a turbulent tapestry of Primordial Power, and for wonders of the Great Dao or Primordial Marvels to arise, a sufficient concentration of Primordial Power proves essential.

Should this land blend seamlessly with the adjacent sea in ordinariness, the odds of yielding precious assets would remain slim. However, the potent restraint and denser solidification of Primordial Power here clearly signal a higher likelihood of birthing extraordinary treasures!

A spark of anticipation gleamed in Chen Mu's gaze as well.

Like the others, he sought out scarce marvel resources in the Source Sea. While the Primordial Marvels he required were exceedingly uncommon, in Source Sea ventures, fortune and chance outweighed raw power, rendering strength less crucial. In truth, not even the frailest Dao Venerable risked demise, and the mightiest had to proceed with patient scouting.

The party advanced across the land, heading inward, as each member curbed their presence and adopted greater vigilance.

Indeed, this terrain stood out as exceptional. Sure to harbor prospects for rare assets, it could likewise harbor diverse Venerable Level Exotic Beasts or warped Spirits of the Fallen Venerable.

...

The sheer magnitude of this land defied imagination.

Given its near-total composition of compacted, rich Primordial Power, sensing abilities faced limitations in this realm. Chen Mu himself managed to scan no farther than a billion miles.

Nevertheless, this land's dimensions surpassed billions of miles by far, featuring even contorted Void formations inside.

Thus,

the group kept probing ahead, and following an indeterminable span, they met their initial assault.

"Burn the Sky!"

All at once, a radiant golden silhouette burst from the distant terrain's Void, resembling a blazing sun—a Spirit of the Fallen Venerable positioned to challenge the group. It thrust one arm skyward in a flash, unleashing a torrent of searing golden radiance from its hand, as though hoisting a cataclysmic sun, before hurling it savagely at Chen Mu and his fellows.

Though it appeared as if this Spirit of the Fallen Venerable channeled its intent to deploy its own arts, at its heart, it was nothing more than disordered Primordial Power imitating the display. The formidable solar blaze derived not from Power of the Dao but from a tangled mass of Primordial Power.

"Unstable and Skyless,"

"Returning Ruins and Breaking Illusions!"

"Silent Annihilation."

In response to the abrupt onslaught from the Spirit of the Fallen Venerable, Chen Mu and the fellow Dao Venerables countered with lightning speed. Within a heartbeat, they unleashed their strikes in unison. In that instant, eight fearsome Venerable Level expressions of Power of the Dao surged forth, manifesting as eight menacing arts that advanced to clash against the descending colossal sun.

Like a setting sun plunging into the sea, the clashing tides of power erupted in fierce confrontation. Following a fierce upheaval, the arts unleashed by Chen Mu and the other eight gained the clear advantage, shredding that massive sun to pieces.
