Da Xuan Martial Saint Chapter 1504 - 722: The End of Tribulation Arrives! (Part 2)

Previously on Da Xuan Martial Saint...
Chen Mu, now a Dao Venerable who has comprehended Void Creation and is nearing comprehension of the Time Dao, realizes the universe's final silent annihilation is imminent. He has migrated all living beings from the Da Xuan World to the Origin Realm, an act only possible for a Dao Venerable, though he knows even this realm will ultimately collapse. While observing the gathered Divine Monarchs who revere him, Chen Mu reflects on his own pursuit of ultimate transcendence.

Looking at Divine Monarch Nanhua, Divine Monarch Bei Yu felt a wave of emotion wash over him. He noticed the complicated look on Nanhua’s face and let out a silent sigh while shaking his head. Chen Mu had emerged from the Nanhua Void, and originally, Divine Monarch Nanhua had the perfect opening to establish a profound bond with him. Had he attached himself to Chen Mu back then, he might have secured a path through the universe’s reincarnation to reach the next creation.

At that time, however, Divine Monarch Nanhua could never have anticipated the situation as it stood today.

...

Primordial Domain.

Currently, the entire boundless universe had been swallowed by darkness, with the sole exception of the Primordial Domain.

The once-vast Origin Realm was now the only world remaining isolated within the cosmos. Despite its massive size, it appeared as nothing more than a tiny speck when compared to the grand scale of the universe.

Within the Origin Realm, the vast Great Realm was almost entirely consumed by the flames of war.

Nearly every surviving being from across the universe had gathered in the Origin Realm, though many others were still stranded outside, unable to find a way in. Every stretch of land now groaned under the weight of countless races, and almost every inch of soil served as a flashpoint for new conflicts.

Of course,

certain regions existed where a realm remained untouched by the surrounding chaos and violence.

For instance, after Chen Mu moved the inhabitants of the Xuan World into the Origin Realm, no one dared to step foot into their territory. This was because the land housing the people of the Xuan World was protected by a supreme Dao Venerable!

In the current Origin Realm, only those factions backed by a Dao Venerable could maintain even a shadow of peace.

This territory held by Chen Mu continued to expand just as the Xuan World had in the past. To the billions of mortals living there, the only noticeable shifts were the increasing richness of the Heaven and Earth’s Yuan Qi and the strengthening of their physical bodies. Even an ordinary person could now easily live for a millennium, and with just a bit of cultivation, they could ascend to the God Realm.

Yet, within the Origin Realm, the God Realm was considered nothing more than a starting point.

Forget those in the God Realm—even the Divine Monarch Dominators of the Eighth Layer Heaven did not dare to wander beyond the Da Xuan Territory, as the external turmoil had reached a truly apocalyptic state. Though the final tribulation of the universe had not yet struck the Origin Realm, every being who had reached the God Realm could feel the suffocating weight of approaching doom.

Central Da Xuan Territory.

Two figures were walking through a massive, sprawling garden.

Wearing the simple robes of a commoner, Chen Mu strolled alongside Xu Hongyu, occasionally sharing stories of the universe. Xu Hongyu followed him in silence, stopping every now and then to listen intently.

Because her realm and strength were lacking, she was unable to head out for training like Chen Yue and Chen Yao. She could not personally witness the vastness of the cosmos and could only experience its wonders through the tales Chen Mu told her.

As the ultimate end of tribulation drew near, Xu Hongyu listened to Chen Mu and spoke softly:

"When compared to Yao’er, Yue’er’s talent is ultimately a bit deficient. I wonder if she can reach Perfection in the time that remains."

Several epochs in the past,

Chen Yao’s cultivation had successfully broken through to the Nine Layer Heavens.

Following that, a young man from the Yu family bloodline with extraordinary talent rose rapidly to the Nine Layer Heavens. He became the only person outside of Chen Mu’s immediate family in the Da Xuan World to achieve such a breakthrough.

Later, Qin Mengjun—Chen Mu’s former master—became the third Ninth Layer Heavenly Divine Monarch of the Da Xuan World, excluding Chen Mu himself.

Aside from those three, no one else had ascended to the Nine Layer Heavens.

Reaching the Nine Layer Heavens was not something that happened easily; even with a Dao Venerable like Chen Mu raising the quality of the entire Da Xuan World, producing experts of the Nine Layer Heavens remained a difficult task.

To reach such a height, one required a combination of innate talent, opportunity, resources, wisdom, and unshakable perseverance.

Within the Da Xuan World, only those with close ties to Chen Mu, like Chen Yue and Chen Yao, were lucky enough to receive his direct guidance and resources. Others simply did not have that level of fortune.

In some ways, the talent of the youth from the Yu family surpassed even Chen Yao’s, as his breakthrough to the Nine Layer Heavens was mostly due to his own efforts, receiving only minor resources and encouragement from Xu Hongyu during his final push.

Beyond the three who had already ascended, Chen Yue was the one Xu Hongyu held the highest hopes for.

Throughout her cultivation journey, Chen Yue had relied heavily on her own willpower. Nevertheless, Chen Mu had poured the most care, effort, and resources into her development.

While Chen Yue’s talent was respectable, she was far from the level of those peerless geniuses born once in a thousand generations. Her ability to maintain her realm was largely a result of Chen Mu’s personal favoritism.

"She can do it."

Responding to Xu Hongyu, Chen Mu turned his eyes toward a distant palace where Chen Yue was in seclusion. She had remained in a deep meditative state ever since returning from the Source Realm.

As if to prove Chen Mu right, a massive surge of power suddenly exploded from the palace the moment he finished speaking. It instantly flooded the area, carrying with it the faint, unmistakable aura of the Power of Dao.
