Cultivation is just so scientific! Chapter 1424: 758: Upheaval (Part 2)
Previously on Cultivation is just so scientific!...
The collapse of Hell Cave Heaven occurred five millennia ago, which was the moment various sects first learned of its existence.
Following that catastrophe, the internal realm of Hell Cave Heaven began to merge with the primary world. However, this integration remained incomplete, resulting in a highly unusual spatial state.
Upon investigating the remnants of Hell Cave Heaven, numerous organizations realized that its presence posed a dire threat to the entire Cultivation World.
Consequently, spearheaded by the dominant superpowers of the Cultivation World, a defensive perimeter was established on Hell Island, adjacent to the rift. Massive amounts of manpower and wealth were poured into constructing a defensive formation designed to stop the powerful Hell Creatures from escaping their prison.
In truth, despite the collapse of Hell Cave Heaven, its semi-integrated state continued to act as a natural cage for most of the Hell Creatures within.
Only a tiny fraction of these beings managed to slip through the gaps by accident, and dealing with these escapees was the primary duty of the Cultivators stationed on Hell Island.
Nevertheless, Great Cultivator Lou suggested that a spatial rupture had occurred within Hell Cave Heaven. If the realm were to fully merge with the outside world, a massive exodus of Hell Creatures—most of whom were at the Fourth Grade Middle Stage or higher—would unleash catastrophic destruction upon the Cultivation World.
“Fortunately, the spatial collapse of Hell Cave Heaven only produced a single breach. However, this gap is large enough for the most potent entities inside to flee with ease. Hell Island has already issued an emergency plea for reinforcements, and the superpowers of the Central State Continent are expected to be the first to respond!” As he spoke, Great Cultivator Lou swept his gaze over the Nascent Soul Middle Stage Sword Cultivators in the room.
He was fully aware of the peril involved, but the Sword Intent Chongxiao Pavilion possessed a unique advantage. Their recently developed Space Acceptance Array would significantly minimize unnecessary casualties during this high-stakes mission.
“A hundred individuals from your ranks will be chosen to depart for Hell Island. With the exception of Li Yuanba, the remaining slots will be determined by drawing lots!” Great Cultivator Lou said, nodding toward Li Yuanba.
None of the Sword Cultivators voiced any disagreement regarding the special treatment granted to Li Yuanba.
With a wave of Great Cultivator Lou’s hand, a Sword Cultivator stepped forward to oversee the lottery process.
The Sword Intent Chongxiao Pavilion did not dare deploy too many Nascent Soul Middle Stage Sword Cultivators at once. Suffing extreme losses would cripple the Sect's foundation; furthermore, the burden of guarding Hell Cave Heaven was not theirs alone to bear.
Great Cultivator Lou approached Li Yuanba and gestured, creating a soundproof barrier around them.
“You must bring Great Venerable Hongfa with you this time to install a Space Acceptance Array in a secure zone on Hell Island. This objective is of the utmost importance!” he commanded with a grave expression.
“If I bring Hongfa, won't we run into the monks from Da Leiyin Temple?” Li Yuanba asked, his brow furrowing as he raised his concern.
Because Great Venerable Hongfa originated from the Da Leiyin Temple and had been forced into servitude, avoiding them was fine, but a direct confrontation could prove troublesome.
“Do not worry. Provided Great Venerable Hongfa conceals his identity, the Da Leiyin Temple will act as if they noticed nothing!” Great Cultivator Lou answered with a faint smile.
“In that case, I have no objections!” Li Yuanba replied with a nod.
“The array components are prepared. You and Great Venerable Hongfa must depart immediately to set up the Space Acceptance Array. Meanwhile, I will calibrate the reception coordinates of the array onto the Identity Jade Discs of every Sword Cultivator here,” Great Cultivator Lou explained, passing a Mustard Seed Ring to Li Yuanba.
Taking the ring, Li Yuanba swept it with his Divine Sense. He found it packed with array materials and pre-constructed array bases, which were intended as backups for the Space Acceptance Array.
Currently, within the Sword Intent Chongxiao Pavilion, only Li Yuanba and Great Venerable Hongfa possessed the skills to deploy and sustain such an array.
Because the requirements for the Space Acceptance Array were so incredibly rigorous, the Sect could not simply train new specialists overnight, even with their vast resources.
Mastering spatial laws or Divine Space Powers was a feat that would take even the most talented cultivator centuries to achieve, even with the Sect's full backing.
To ensure the system remained operational, the Sword Intent Chongxiao Pavilion had tasked Great Venerable Hongfa with mass-producing array bases.
Should the array fail in the absence of Li Yuanba or Great Venerable Hongfa, their standard Array Masters could use these pre-made bases to perform emergency repairs.
The sheer volume of array bases being deployed at once highlighted just how seriously the Sword Intent Chongxiao Pavilion viewed this crisis.
These components were treated as vital strategic assets, and such resources were rarely mobilized in such quantities.
“I nearly forgot—take this protective Jade Talisman. It will help mitigate the corrupting influence of Hell Cave Heaven,” Great Cultivator Lou added, handing Li Yuanba another talisman.
As Li Yuanba took the item, he felt the distinct, powerful aura of a superior being radiating from it.
It was clearly crafted by a top-tier expert, perhaps even the Sword Elder himself.
He sensed the talisman activating, creating a unique protective field around his body.
Linking his mind to the IBMz15 and utilizing data from his Divine Sense and ‘Divine Eye Skill,’ the supercomputer began to analyze the barrier.
The analysis suggested the barrier could block standard radiation, though its effectiveness against the specific energies of Hell Cave Heaven remained an estimate.
However, comparing it to the data from the Fourth Grade ‘Hell Disgust Crystal’ collected by his main body, Li Shiming, the talisman appeared capable of neutralizing roughly two-thirds of the radiation.
Li Yuanba smiled inwardly, noting that while the talisman was the work of a powerful master, its shielding capabilities were roughly on par with the radiation suits designed by Li Shiming.
He transmitted this data to Li Shiming, who quickly prepared several of his custom-made radiation suits.
Li Yuanba first located Great Venerable Hongfa to brief him on the mission. Shortly after, the two utilized the Divine Foot Skill to vanish from the Sword Intent Chongxiao Pavilion.
Li Yuanba traveled toward the location where his main body, Li Shiming, was waiting.
As they drew near, Great Cultivator Luo Pei was already standing ready.
Without saying a word, Great Cultivator Luo Pei threw a storage bag toward Li Yuanba and immediately departed.
Great Venerable Hongfa, following behind, was stunned. He knew Li Yuanba was a man of many secrets, but he never suspected the young man had a Great Cultivator assisting him outside the Sect.
Even though Luo Pei hadn't spoken, Hongfa could infer a great deal from the brief interaction.
Most notably, Li Yuanba showed no reverence toward Great Cultivator Luo Pei. His casual demeanor was not that of a subordinate to a master, but rather resembled how he treated Hongfa himself.
In Hongfa's eyes, it almost seemed as if Li Yuanba viewed the Great Cultivator as another servant.
Furthermore, their mission had been a sudden emergency, yet Luo Pei was already waiting at the rendezvous point, proving that Li Yuanba had a way to communicate with him instantly.
Regardless of the contents of the bag, the fact that a Great Cultivator acted as a messenger spoke volumes about Li Yuanba's hidden influence.
Ignoring Hongfa’s internal turmoil, Li Yuanba checked the storage bag. He pulled out a radiation suit and put it on. Combined with the Jade Talisman, the radiation from a Fourth Grade ‘Hell Disgust Crystal’ would be reduced to a mere fifth of its strength.
He was confident that while such radiation was lethal to most, at twenty percent power, it would barely affect him at all.
The bag also contained anti-radiation pills formulated by Li Shiming. These would allow him to purge any accumulated toxins, leaving only traces that his body’s natural vitality could easily handle.
