A group disguised as members of the Ten Thousand Swords Sect launched a surprise attack on the mountain gate. After killing a guard, the attackers charged in, initiating a fierce battle with the sect disciples. Ning Qi and Medicine Spirit waited for the chaos to escalate before joining the fray, catching the attackers off guard.

"I have never been one of you; why call me a traitor?"

Ning Qi asked with a cold laugh.

Without pausing he swung his sword, killing another.

"Kill!"

"This bastard, he’s a fraud!"

"Kill him!"

The commotion here immediately attracted the attention of many.

One by one, they rushed over, ready to fight Ning Qi to the death.

Unfortunately for them, none were Ning Qi’s match.

In the blink of an eye, over a dozen had been slaughtered by Ning Qi.

The ground was littered with mutilated bodies.

"Damn, you tricked us!"

By this time, the middle-aged man finally realized something was off.

"Oh? Only realizing now? Isn’t it too late?"

Ning Qi said while laughing coldly, "You lot from the Demon Race deserve to be exterminated by all."

"Kill!"

The middle-aged man retreated from the people attacking him with a single sword strike.

Then he suddenly moved, charging towards Ning Qi.

He was now determined to kill Ning Qi.

To him, those behind him were inconsequential.

"Hoo."’

Ning Qi took a deep breath, suddenly channeling his immortal power.

The pure immortal power surged, causing everyone present to look on in disbelief.

"This is... an Immortal!"

"We’re saved!"

"The Immortal is helping us against the Demon Race!"

"..."

The disciples below exclaimed in shock, each with a look of having survived a disaster.

In the preceding battle, they had come to understand the gap between themselves and the demons.

Victory seemed impossible against them.

As they were about to be wiped out, Ning Qi intervened.

Attacking from behind, he had killed many in black attire and pulled their leader away.

In doing so, he had become a life-saving straw for everyone.

"Kill."

The middle-aged man, having seen Ning Qi’s burst of immortal power, immediately felt deceived.

Furious, he went on a full-force offensive.

He charged like a fierce beast towards Ning Qi.

"Poof!"

But, when everyone expected a fierce battle, an unexpected scene unfolded.

Ning Qi effortlessly struck down the middle-aged man with a single sword.

He fell, headless, his body plummeting to the ground and raising a cloud of dust.

From start to finish, he never knew Ning Qi’s true strength.

He didn’t even know who Ning Qi actually was.

"Thank you, Upper Immortal."

"Greetings, Upper Immortal."

"..."

Seeing this, everyone stepped forward to pay their respects to Ning Qi.

Each with eyes full of awe.

"Where’s your Squad Leader?"

Ning Qi asked sternly, looking at the disciples below.

So many of the Demon Race had come here, yet he hadn’t seen their Squad Leader.

If it weren’t for his intervention, they would have been annihilated.

"Upper Immortal, our Squad Leader was ambushed by the Demon Race and is recovering on the mountain..."

"Upper Immortal, please save our Squad Leader!"

"..."

Upon hearing his inquiry, the disciples below immediate responded.

Each with a hopeful expression, hoping Ning Qi would assist in saving their Squad Leader.

"Oh? So it seems these demons had planned to attack you all along."

"Knowing your Squad Leader was injured, they came to ambush you."

Ning Qi listened to their words, pondering.

"Yes, our Squad Leader was injured while assisting the Sub-Branch of the Ten Thousand Swords Sect."

"The Sub-Branch of the Ten Thousand Swords Sect has already been annihilated, we’ve been on high alert these past few days."

"..."

Upon hearing Ning Qi’s words, they rushed to respond.

Listening to their explanations, Ning Qi finally understood what had transpired.

"Alright, lead the way, let me see his condition."

Ning Qi nodded, then landed on the stone steps, ready for them to guide him.

"Please, Upper Immortal."

A few disciples stepped up, inviting him to follow them.

He quickly followed a few of them up the mountain.

Upon reaching a bamboo house in the back mountain, he found their Squad Leader in a side room.

At this moment, his face was dark, emitting streams of black Qi from his body.

This was clearly due to being tainted by demonic Qi, causing such a reaction.

"He’s affected by Demonic Qi."

The Medicine Spirit also landed on Ning Qi’s shoulder, showing a heavy expression.

"Yes, indeed."

Ning Qi nodded, then fixed his gaze on the Squad Leader, addressing everyone, "He can be saved, you all step back."

"Yes!"

"..."

A few disciples hastily complied, then retreated quickly.

Each with worry on their faces, but considering Ning Qi’s status as an Upper Immortal, they did not dare disobey him.

"Master, how do you plan to save him?"

The Medicine Spirit grew curious.

"It’s no difficult task."

Ning Qi smiled confidently, "I have Magic Power, I’ll just draw it out."

"Right, how could I have forgotten this?"

The Medicine Spirit clapped its hands, smiling, "Master, truly he’s met a benefactor."

"Alright, watch over the people here for me."

"I’ll save him."

Ning Qi gestured toward the door, instructing him to keep watch.

"Alright."

The Medicine Spirit promptly agreed and headed to the door.

Ning Qi focused his attention on the Squad Leader in front of him.

He extended his hands and began channeling a stream of Magic Power.

Instantly, cold streams of Magic Power began circulating around his body.

Under his control, they surged towards the Squad Leader on the bed.

"Sizzle!"

Upon contact, a harsh burning sound erupted.

Yet Ning Qi did not stop, instead directing his Magic Power to directly penetrate the Squad Leader’s body.

Once inside, his Magic Power began devouring the Demonic Qi within his body.

"Hoo!"

After half a two-hour period of refining and devouring, Ning Qi exhaled deeply.

"Master, how is it?"

The Medicine Spirit hurried over to ask.

His eyes filled with concern.

"It’s alright now."

Looking at the Squad Leader on the bed, Ning Qi called to those outside, "Come in, your Squad Leader is fine now."

"Yes, Upper Immortal!"

"Upper Immortal, our Squad Leader?"

A few disciples stepped forward, faces full of concern.

"He’s fine, but he needs a night to recover."

"Use Spirit Stones to replenish his Spiritual Qi, he should awaken in one two-hour period."

Ning Qi looked at them and instructed seriously.

"Yes."

"Go, fetch the Top-grade Spirit Stone."

The disciples quickly began preparations.

"No need, use my Spiritual Marrow."

Ning Qi said, tossing them a Storage Bag, "Use this, it should last over one two-hour period, enough for him to wake."

"Alright, thank you, Upper Immortal."

The disciples took the Storage Bag, expressing their gratitude.

"I’ll wait outside for him, let him find me when he wakes."

Ning Qi nodded, then swiftly exited the bamboo house.

Once outside, he approached a cliff edge with a cave dwelling.

Standing there, gazing at the distance, he could see endless mountain ranges.

In these mountains, there was a faint surge of Spiritual Qi.

"Master, this is quite a place indeed."

The Medicine Spirit mused while standing on his shoulder.

"Yes, if our True Martial Spirit Realm had such Spiritual Qi, our power would elevate overall."

Ning Qi sighed, then turned his gaze in a particular direction.

"Master, what do you think the demons’ goal is?"

The Medicine Spirit pondered aloud, unable to resist asking.

"That doesn’t concern us."

"What I need to ensure is that they don’t interfere with my journey to the Sea Boundary Battlefield."

"These dozen regions in the Lower Realm have countless invasions by demons daily."

"But new Lower Realms are also being born."

Ning Qi looked into the distance and continued, "We just need to focus on ourselves, no need to worry about others."

"Master, do you think, given these demons haven’t returned, their forces will come again?"

The Medicine Spirit suddenly thought of something, quickly asking.
