Cultivating for a hundred lifetimes to ascension Chapter 1701: 912: Dragon Turtle Soars, the Grand Feast Begins (Part 3)
Previously on Cultivating for a hundred lifetimes to ascension...
Those young dragon turtles that managed to ascend beyond the atmosphere were deemed worthy to be inducted into the ranks of the Mount-bearing Dragon Turtle clan.
The two remaining young dragon turtles, alas, were deemed “failures.” Their inability to even breach the Red Sea Realm’s atmosphere rendered them unfit for the vastly more perilous and unforgiving expanse of the starry sky.
The Mount-bearing Dragon Turtles made a pilgrimage back to the Red Sea Realm every ten millennia, a cycle for their reproduction.
Frequently, one or two of the weaker hatchlings were purged after each trial, their ultimate fate a grim certainty.
Zhao Sheng, having delved into countless ancient texts and scrolls, had unearthed no records whatsoever pertaining to the dragon turtle. His knowledge was limited to the fact that, subsequent to the great cataclysm, the Red Sea Realm underwent a transient phase of “spiritual energy revival.”
Past sages and prominent figures had conceived numerous hypotheses regarding this peculiar occurrence, yet none could be substantiated with concrete proof.
It now appeared that the machinations of the Sea God were likely behind this event.
Rumble!
The heavens churned in turmoil, and potent bolts of lightning sliced through the sky like celestial sabers cleaving the firmament.
In mere moments, the entire sky was awash with electrical discharges and thunderous roars, the tempest extending its reach across the vast Heavenly Sea.
Amidst earth-shattering bellows, countless azure Thunder Jiao wriggled in and out of the clouds, their forms continuously coalescing to forge ever larger and more potent azure Thunder Dragons.
Abruptly, a draconic cry resonated from the cloud depths, initially resembling distant thunder echoing through the heavens, causing a subtle tremor across the Heavenly Sea.
Then, with a surge of wind and an upheaval of clouds, a sky-blue, five-clawed Thunder Dragon, its length stretching for tens of thousands of meters, tore through the void. It descended upon the young dragon turtle on the ocean’s surface with astonishing velocity.
In that singular instant, all existence seemed to hold its breath, and the passage of time appeared to halt.
The five-clawed Thunder Dragon, a manifestation of the Azure Sky Divine Thunder, descended like a divine blade poised to cleave both sky and sea, striking the back of the young Mount-bearing Dragon Turtle instantaneously.
This singular blow carried the immense power of the heavens and earth, its force beyond comprehension!
An eternity seemed to unfold in the span of a fleeting second, and yet, that second felt as though it would never end.
The moment the world reverted to its normal state, a profound and seemingly endless “chasm” suddenly materialized upon the ocean’s surface.
The sea appeared to be rent asunder by an unseen power, the “chasm” extending to the very limits of the Heavenly Sea. It persisted for a quarter of an hour before collapsing with a resounding crash, causing the waters on either side to surge back, colliding in colossal waves.
It was at this juncture that Zhao Sheng emerged from the Dark Sky, silently materializing above the affected sea area.
Gazing upon the wondrous spectacle unfolding below, he could not suppress a jolt of astonishment.
“This is not good, I have arrived too late!”
No sooner had the words left his lips than he extended his right hand, grasping downwards from a distance.
Bang… a colossal palm, its intricate lines clearly visible and spanning a hundred miles, materialized from nothingness before plunging forcefully beneath the ocean’s surface.
With a tremendous impact, the sea floor was abruptly breached, and tens of thousands of tons of seawater were drawn upwards by the colossal palm, soaring into the sky and rapidly forming a breathtaking waterfall.
As the seawater cascaded back down, a gargantuan dragon turtle, hemorrhaging profusely, was revealed to be ensnared within the giant palm. Its breaths were feeble, and its body was perilously close to being severed in two.
A significant volume of blood spilled downwards, rapidly dyeing the ocean’s surface red for hundreds of miles around.
Shortly thereafter, the sea’s surface roiled with even greater intensity, “boiling” as myriad sea creatures and fish inexplicably launched themselves from the water, voraciously consuming the surrounding seawater.
Nearly every moment, a multitude of these sea beasts and fish met an explosive end, though numerous others exhibited remarkable transformations and evolutionary advancements.
To the denizens of the Red Sea Realm, the flesh and blood of the dragon turtle were tantamount to the world’s most peerless “medicinal treasure.”
A multitude of sea beasts attained sentience upon consuming the dragon turtle’s sanguine essence, and their ancestral bloodlines underwent potent atavism and evolution.
Concurrently, the concentration of spiritual energy within this aquatic domain began to escalate at an abnormal rate, seemingly providing an optimal spiritual environment for these sea beasts and living organisms to transcend their limitations.
Indeed, all that transpired before his eyes was a manifestation of the Sea God’s “Divine Will.”
While maintaining a cautious vigilance against any potential intervention from the Sea God, Zhao Sheng retrieved the near-lifeless young dragon turtle into his grasp.
In the very next moment, the palm-sized bronze mirror concealed within his sleeve disintegrated into pieces.
Almost simultaneously, deep within the inferno of the Great Sun, Mu Zha experienced a jolt, sensing the mirror’s destruction.
“Oh no, I’ve gone too far this time!” Mu Zha trembled uncontrollably. Suddenly, he smacked his forehead, hopping in agitation as he cried out:
“Master, I beg you, please restrain your temper! Mu Zha will arrive momentarily!”
Before his plea even concluded, a streak of azure light flashed past, and Mu Zha disappeared without a trace, leaving only the vast, burning inferno in his wake.
“Master, I beg you, please restrain your temper! Mu Zha will arrive momentarily!”
Before his plea even concluded, Mu Zha vanished into thin air, leaving only the vast, burning inferno in his wake.
