Cultivating for a hundred lifetimes to ascension Chapter 1384: 744: Alien Demon Proclaims Itself as the Immortal Clan (Part 2)

Previously on Cultivating for a hundred lifetimes to ascension...
After dodging pursuit for half a month, a severely injured Baili Shouguang is cornered by a massive beast tide led by an Alien Demon disguised as his senior brother, Mo Xingkong. Realizing the entity's terrifying ability to possess and mimic others, Baili Shouguang finds himself surrounded by grotesque monsters and devilish fog. Exhausted and unable to flee further, he makes a final stand by activating the Great Five Elements Killing Array to trap his pursuers. As the maze-like formation rises, the disguised demon prepares to send his subordinates into the mist to finish the hunt.

This did not, however, prevent the creature from mimicking the tactics of the Human Clan, broadcasting directives to the massive tide of beasts under its control.

Upon receiving the command, a myriad of demon beasts dove into the thick fog without a second thought.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

A series of thunderous concussions echoed as hundreds of demon beasts slammed headlong into the towering golden stone wall, their bodies bursting into sprays of gore and pulverized flesh.

Though the golden stone barrier shuddered under the impact and radiated intense golden light, it remained perfectly firm, showing not even a hairline fracture.

A vast swarm of demon beasts soon located several paths into the labyrinth and charged within, never to resurface.

The entrances to the maze functioned like insatiable black holes; no matter the number of demon beasts that poured inside, they could never be filled.

“Mo Xingkong” quickly detected that many of his Demon Thought Sub-bodies were expiring rapidly, their ends both mysterious and gruesome.

A frown creased his brow as a rhythmic flicker of dark light danced in his eyes.

Moments later, the emerald giant python and the ghost-faced giant spider stirred. Riding atop roiling demon clouds, they surged into the mist and vanished into the depths of the maze.

Both creatures were Eleventh Rank Demon Emperors, possessing martial prowess on par with Divinity Transformation Cultivators.

Consequently, standard traps and slaughter arrays proved useless against their destructive advance.

Rampaging through the corridors, the two demons bypassed the outer zones of the labyrinth and reached the inner sanctum.

At the very heart of the maze, Baili Shouguang let out a soft breath. The Turn Tribulation Sword remained suspended before his knees, vibrating gently while emitting a translucent, water-like sword light.

“Go!”

With a whisper, he formed a sword seal. The Turn Tribulation Sword took flight, shifting into a slender thread of sword silk that cut through the fog.

Simultaneously, “Mo Xingkong” extended his Divine Thought, clearly observing his two sub-bodies as they tore through the maze toward its core. A thin smile touched his lips.

“Junior Brother, why must you reject my kindness? Would it not be better to simply join the Hang Emperor Immortal Clan alongside me?” Mo Xingkong sighed to himself.

The Alien Demon Clan styled themselves as the Hang Emperor Immortal Clan. The entire race worshipped the Hang Emperor Ancestor and considered themselves the true heirs of the Taoist Ancestor, thus claiming the title of an Immortal Clan!

Even as the beast tide enveloped the Five Elements Mist and Mo Xingkong felt certain of his triumph, something changed.

Nearby, on a nondescript hillside, a three-foot-tall child suddenly poked his head out from the earth. He peered toward the battlefield, his dark eyes spinning with a mischievous light as if he were concocting a prank.

“What a racket! Master is in seclusion; I won't allow these brutes to interrupt his Cultivation. Conveniently, I’m quite famished, so I’ll use you to fill my belly!”

The Mountain Dragon, Xiao Jin, grumbled to himself before sinking back into the soil and vanishing.

A few moments later, a slight tremor ran through the earth. The ground beneath the beast horde abruptly and silently gave way. Countless demon beasts, unable to react, were dragged into the depths by a powerful suction, disappearing in an instant.

Soon, a colossal black abyss nearly ten thousand feet wide gaped where they had stood, dark and seemingly bottomless.

The earth quickly sealed itself shut, only for another sinkhole to open elsewhere, devouring thousands more beasts in a single gulp.

The ground continued to collapse repeatedly, as deep pits appeared and vanished in rapid succession.

In the span of a single breath, massive sections of the beast horde were wiped away.

Panic gripped the remaining creatures, and they began to howl, scattering in every direction.

This bizarre occurrence immediately drew the attention of Mo Xingkong.

Upon witnessing the scene, he was nearly consumed by rage; his million-strong army had been slashed by a third in an instant.

Watching the ground swallow his forces whole, “Mo Xingkong” felt a sudden shiver and instantly sharpened his focus.

The elite demon beasts in his retinue closed ranks, forming a protective circle around their master.

Mo Xingkong accessed the senses of his Demon Thought Sub-bodies again. Through their eyes, he caught glimpses of fleshy walls lined with rows of razor-sharp sawteeth, grinding everything to pulp before they plunged into total darkness.

Sawteeth? Fleshy walls?

Was he currently inside the gullet of some titanic entity?

If so, just how massive was the true form of this beast?

“Could it be a... Void Realm Great Demon?! If I could subjugate this creature, my standing within the clan would skyrocket!”

“Mo Xingkong” mused, a sudden spark of avarice taking root in his mind.

Glancing at the powerful demons by his side, he felt a sense of security. He settled into a cross-legged position and pulled a gourd from his belt.

Tipping the gourd, he chanted several incantations and struck the base of the vessel with his palm.

A dark vortex manifested at the gourd's opening, followed by a burst of light. Grains of dark red crystal rained down, striking the earth.

The moment they hit the soil, the crystals shifted into squirming shadows that burrowed into the ground like lightning bolts.

Shortly after, the earth heaved upward into a massive mound before exploding, sending geysers of dirt into the sky.

A titanic, dark-gold "flesh pillar" erupted toward the heavens, striking the Three-tailed Giant Tiger in mid-air with a roar that made the world tremble.

Suddenly, a pervasive yellow Mystic Light flooded the sky for a hundred miles, paralyzing both the man and the tiger where they stood!

“Mo Xingkong” was struck with terror. He watched helplessly as a gargantuan maw loomed to consume him, his body completely frozen by the light.

In that moment of despair, he felt a sting of regret for his arrogance.

But before he could dwell on his failure, he and his demon tiger were swallowed whole by the Mountain Dragon, unable to offer even a shred of resistance.

“Mo Xingkong’s” Cultivation was merely at the late-stage of Divinity Transformation; he was no match for a Mountain Dragon at the Returning to Void Realm!

It could be said that his greed had clouded his judgment, leading him to provoke an enemy far beyond his strength.

As the yellow Mystic Light dissipated, the Mountain Dragon’s massive form shrank rapidly, transforming back into the homely, three-foot-tall child.

Little Gold patted his stomach, still feeling a bit hungry. He couldn't help but eye the retreating demon beasts with longing.

“Whatever, being seventy percent full isn't bad. Protecting Master is the priority!” Little Gold muttered to himself with a hint of reluctance.

However, he failed to see that among the fleeing horde, over a hundred beasts possessed eyes glowing with an unusual Wisdom Light.

The main branch of the Alien Demon Clan possessed the trait of “Gathering and Dispersing by Thought, Dividing into Thousands.”

Though “Mo Xingkong” was the primary body, he was not truly extinguished so long as a single Demon Thought Sub-body survived.

After a long period of time, one of these sub-bodies would eventually mature into a new member of the Alien Demon Clan.

This innate "undying" quality was exactly why the Alien Demon Clan was so notoriously difficult to eradicate.

Bang! Bang! Bang!

Before the hundred-plus Demon Thought Sub-bodies could flee far, they began to spontaneously detonate.

The shadows attempting to hide beneath the earth were instantly wiped out by a nameless, invisible power.

Little Gold’s face lit up with joy. He landed on the ground and turned toward the hillside behind him.

There, Zhao Xuanjing was slowly rising. His form appeared far more "solid" than it had three years prior, yet he carried an ethereal, transcendent aura that made him seem like a true Immortal.

“Master, you’ve finished your seclusion?” Little Gold cried out, flying toward him in excitement.

Zhao Xuanjing looked at the child, then shifted his gaze toward the Five Elements Mist in the distance. He said calmly, “You made such a massive disturbance! How could I possibly stay in seclusion?”

With those words, his figure began to drift forward.

Little Gold scratched his head sheepishly and hurried to follow.

In a flash, Zhao Xuanjing reached the edge of the mist and gave a casual wave of his hand.
