Clumsy Beast, Keep Your Paws Off Chapter 782: Who Could Abandon Such a Cute Cub?
Previously on Clumsy Beast, Keep Your Paws Off...
Overcome by sheer fear, exhaustion, and sadness, little Xiao Yi finally couldn’t hold his heavy eyelids open any longer.
After crying for so long, the tiny cub was completely drained. After all, he was still just a little baby who wasn’t even a year old! His small body ached all over from the fierce fight, and his empty tummy was rumbling with hunger.
There were plenty of sweet wild fruits nearby that he could have eaten, but he simply didn’t have the energy or appetite anymore. He was just far too tired and sleepy.
If only mommy were here to hold me... that would be so nice...
With that final, longing thought floating through his mind, his eyes slowly closed, and he collapsed onto the cold grass.
Just as darkness was about to pull him under, Xiao Yi suddenly felt a pair of gentle, careful arms lifting his tiny body off the ground.
In an instant, a soothing wave of pure, comforting warmth wrapped around him, driving away the mountain cold. A large, soft hand gently caressed his dried, tangled fur, wiping away the tear stains from his round cheeks.
"Mmm..."
Xiao Yi let out a soft, contented coo. Feeling the cozy heat, he instinctively nuzzled deeper into the warm, secure embrace, burying his tiny golden face against the soft fabric.
Did mommy come back...? Did she already find me...?
Holding onto that sweet, comforting thought, the little tiger cub completely let go of his fears and sank into a deep, peaceful sleep.
The next morning, Xiao Yi slowly fluttered his heavy eyelids open.
When his eyes finally adjusted, he found himself lying on a soft, warm bed in an unfamiliar room. He scrambled up, his tiny paws patting the mattress as he looked around in absolute confusion.
Where was he? This definitely wasn’t the Heavenly God Estate, nor was it Father Xuan Long’s home! He hopped around the spacious room, looking left and right, but couldn’t find a single familiar scent. His round, fluffy face immediately scrunched up into a worried frown.
The door was suddenly pushed open, and a very beautiful female walked into the room. The moment her eyes landed on him, her face lit up with delight.
"You’re awake!" she exclaimed happily, walking over quickly and lifting the small tiger cub into her warm arms. Without hesitation, she pressed a loving kiss right onto his round, fluffy forehead!
Xiao Yi froze in complete shock, blinking his big, golden eyes in wonder as she gently held his paw to check his injury.
"Look at that, your injuries are completely healed! You are a strong, healthy little cub," she cooed gently, smoothing down his golden-white fur.
Xiao Yi tilted his head, his tail twitching as he asked softly, "Pretty sister... who are you?"
The female blinked in surprise before bursting into a sweet, joyful laugh. "Am I pretty to you?"
Xiao Yi nodded his fluffy head repeatedly. "Mm! Very pretty!"
His honest, adorable reaction made the female laugh even harder, her eyes crinkling with affection. "You are such a sweet, well-behaved cub! What is your name, little one?"
Xiao Yi puffed out his tiny chest proud, exclaiming clearly, "My name is Hu Shiyan! But my mommy calls me Xiao Yi!"
The female’s eyes softened, though a hint of curiosity flashed through them. "Xiao Yi... why were you lying all alone and injured deep in the back mountain?" she asked gently, stroking his ears.
Before Xiao Yi could answer, a loud, angry growl suddenly rumbled from his tiny stomach...
GROOOOOWL!
Xiao Yi’s face flushed pink. He quickly covered his tummy with his little paws, looking up at her with big, pleading eyes. "Pretty sister... do you have something to eat? Xiao Yi hasn’t eaten anything in a long time..."
The female felt her heart melt into an absolute puddle of mush right on the spot!
She immediately placed him back onto the cozy bed, turning toward the door as she called out loudly, "Jiayu! Come here quickly!"
Within seconds, a tall, handsome male beastman walked into the room, his long hair tied back neatly. "What is it, Rulan?" he asked softly, using her nickname as he stepped inside.
"Bring a large platter of fresh roasted meat! The little cub is starving!" Sheng Rulan urged.
Her beast husband, Chi Jiayu, nodded and turned his gaze toward the bed. The moment he spotted the tiny golden fluffball sitting there, his eyes lit up, shining like bright stars! He quickly vanished and returned moments later carrying a large wooden tray piled high with juicy, roasted meat.
Xiao Yi’s eyes sparkled at the sight of food! He immediately dug in, devouring the meat with great enthusiasm.
Truthfully, the cooking wasn’t nearly as delicious as what his father beasts made back home, but to a starving cub, even ordinary meat tasted like a grand feast! He ate every single bite, leaving the platter completely clean.
Sheng Rulan and Chi Jiayu watched the sight with wide, disbelieving eyes.
They had never seen such a cute, well-behaved baby!
Most cubs in the Upper Domain were notoriously rowdy, throwing wild tantrums during meals, refusing to eat unless force-fed, and often leaving deep scratch marks on their parents’ hands. Yet this little tiger ate everything by himself without spilling a single drop!
The more Sheng Rulan looked at the adorable, chubby cub, the more her heart ached with suspicion. Was this sweet little cub abandoned by his parents?
After all, how could a baby less than a year old end up severely injured, lost, and unconscious all by himself in the dangerous back mountains?
If he truly was an abandoned cub... Sheng Rulan thought to herself, she wouldn’t mind adopting him at all!
Who on earth could resist such an angel of a cub? She looked over at Chi Jiayu, silently thinking that if they ever had a baby of their own in the future, she desperately wished for it to be just like this sweet, fluffy little tiger.
