Clumsy Beast, Keep Your Paws Off Chapter 734: How Xiao San Bankrupted His Siblings
Previously on Clumsy Beast, Keep Your Paws Off...
Xiao San swallowed hard as Su Qinglan turned her eyes to him.
Just a few minutes ago, everything had been completely fine. Xiao San had gathered all his siblings in a circle to play a harmless, fun game from an unknown domain: "Bird Fly, Animal Don’t Fly!"
The rules were extremely simple:
Xiao San would shout the name of a creature or object. If it could fly in the sky, the cubs had to lift one paw high in the air. If it couldn’t fly, they had to keep their paws flat on the ground.
To make things more exciting, Xiao San had proposed a tiny rule:
"Every time someone makes a mistake, they have to give me ONE shiny crystal core!"
The little cubs, being naive and eager to play, had thought this was a brilliant idea. They brought out their treasured little pouches, filled to the brim with beautiful, sparkling, colourful crystal cores given to them as gifts by their loving mother, fathers, grandfathers and grandmother.
At first, the game was pure joy.
"Sparrow flies!" Xiao San had shouted.
Whoosh! All the cubs happily raised their paws high into the air, cheering proudly.
"Rock flies!" Xiao San shouted next.
All the paws stayed firmly planted on the carpet. Xiao Yi had even giggled, thinking his snake brother was funny.
"The eagle flies!"
Up went all the little paws!
"Fish flies!"
Down went all the paws!
The cubs were having the time of their lives, feeling super smart and victorious. But slowly, the sneaky third cub began to weave his cunning trap.
"Red Dragonfly flies!" Xiao San yelled quickly.
The wolf twins raised their paws a second too late.
Xiao San smirked, extending his small hand. "Too slow! Pay up!"
The little wolf girls pouted but obediently handed over two shiny red crystal cores.
"Wild boar flies!" Xiao San called out.
The little lion cub, getting too excited, accidentally twitched his paw upward.
"Ha! The lion brother lifted his paw! Hand over a crystal core!" Xiao San giggled, sweeping another glowing gem into his growing pile.
Round after round, the innocent cubs kept making tiny mistakes under Xiao San’s rapid-fire calls. Before they even realised what was happening, their rich treasure pouches were rapidly shrinking, while Xiao San’s stash was glowing like a mountain of pure wealth.
Finally, all the cubs were down to their very last, most precious crystal cores, the extra-shiny ones given directly by their parents. They gathered closely, their eyes fierce and determined. They were resolved to win all their treasures back in this final round!
Xiao San’s dark, swirling eyes gleamed with pure mischief. He looked at his eager, unsuspecting siblings, raised his small hand, and shouted at the top of his lungs:
"UNCLE AN MO FLIES!"
The entire room went dead silent.
The tiger twins, the wolf twins, the lion cub, and Ciao Ciao all froze. They stared at Xiao San with total confidence. Uncle An Mo? Uncle An Mo is a beastman! He has no wings! He is definitely a ground creature!
Without a single doubt in their minds, every single cub slammed their paws firmly onto the ground, looking at Xiao San with proud, triumphant smiles. They were ready to claim their rewards!
Xiao San looked at their flat paws, and a wicked, victorious smirk spread across his cute face.
"Bzzt! WRONG!" Xiao San cackled loudly, slapping his knee.
"Uncle An Mo CAN fly! I saw Father Xuan Long throw him straight into the clouds today! He flew across the entire sky like a shooting star! He flew super high!"
The cubs’ broad smiles froze instantly.
Xiao San didn’t give them a single second to argue. He giggled delightfully, reached out both of his little arms, and swept every single remaining crystal core off the carpet, stuffing them securely into his deep pockets!
The cubs stared blankly at their completely empty paws. Then they looked at their empty treasure pouches.
They had lost. They had lost everything. All their precious, shiny treasures from their mothers, fathers, grandfather, and grandmother were now completely confiscated by their sneaky snake brother!
The realisation hit them like a bolt of thunder, and the entire room erupted into the massive, heartbreaking breakdown that brought the adults running.
Back in the present, Su Qinglan listened as Xiao Er tearfully sniffled and pointed a trembling paw at Xiao San’s bulging pockets.
Understanding the whole story, Su Qinglan didn’t know whether to laugh or cry. The beast husbands standing behind her were equally dumbfounded.
Rong Ye leant against the doorway, letting out a loud chuckle. "You used your father’s aerial beating as a trick to scam your siblings out of their allowance? Xiao San, you really have a gift for business."
"Xiao San," Su Qinglan said sternly, putting on her best motherly face while trying hard to hide her smile.
"Hand back every single crystal core to your brothers and sisters right now. No tricking your family!"
Seeing that Mother had spoken, Xiao San slumped his shoulders in defeat. "Yes, Mommy..." he mumbled pitifully.
He slowly reached into his pockets and began distributing the shiny crystal cores back to their rightful owners.
The moment the sparkling gems touched their paws, the crying stopped instantly, as if a magic switch had been flipped.
The little cubs wiped their tears, hugged their treasures tight, and immediately glared at Xiao San with protective, watchful eyes...determined never to play "Bird Fly" with the sneaky snake brother ever again!
An Mo suddenly strode forward with shining golden eyes, looking at Xiao San as if he had discovered the greatest treasure in the world.
"My son!" he exclaimed dramatically, placing both hands on Xiao San’s tiny shoulders.
"You’re a genius! Such intelligence! Such creativity! Such flawless business talent at such a young age! Your uncle is so proud of you!"
He sniffed loudly, wiping away an imaginary tear. "As expected! He definitely inherited my extraordinary charm and brilliant brain! Unlike his boring, stiff father, Xuan Long, who only knows how to glare at people."
The entire room fell silent.
Hu Yan and others slowly covered his face, trying not to laugh.
Xuan Long’s eyebrow twitched violently as he looked at the beaming An Mo.
"...Have you forgotten," Xuan Long said flatly, "that Xiao San is my biological son?"
An Mo blinked once.
Then he waved his hand dismissively.
"Blood isn’t important! Spirit is what truly matters! Our hearts are connected!"
