The more he imagined their judgment, the more depressed he became.
At that moment, Su Qinglan slowly opened one eye, her sleepy voice sounding soft and raspy. "...Who is here?"
Rong Ye quickly answered in a hushed tone. "Lan Yue is here. And three identical young hawk-beastmen. I think they’re Father Yin Feng’s three sons."
Hearing that, Shi Feng also opened his eyes. "Oh. They’ve arrived." He calmly sat up. "Then we should greet them. Let Lanlan sleep a little longer."
However, Su Qinglan was already awake now. She had heard about those three younger brothers many times from both Lan Yue and Wang Mulan, but she had never met them.
"So... they’re finally here." She slowly stretched before sitting up with a yawn.
Then, her eyes landed directly on Rong Ye. She blinked once, twice, and suddenly narrowed her eyes. "...Rong Ye."
He smiled weakly. "Yes?"
"You..." She pointed a finger at him. "Did you really go outside dressed like that?"
Rong Ye lowered his head, nodding pitifully. "...Yes."
Su Qinglan rubbed her forehead. Then she looked toward his bare chest, and her eyes suddenly widened into dinner plates. "..."
"...Rong Ye!!" She immediately pointed at his torso. "Look at yourself!"
Rong Ye looked down in confusion. "Huh?"
The next second, his soul almost left his body. There were several bright, unmistakable red bite marks scattered across his chest and shoulder.
Some were fresh, some were faint, but every single one of them was impossible to ignore.
Rong Ye’s eyes became as round as saucers.
"...AHHH!!" He hurriedly covered his chest with both hands.
"I... I went outside like this?! Oh no! Oh no! They definitely saw! They definitely all saw! I’m finished! They’ll never respect me now!"
He looked so completely horrified that Su Qinglan couldn’t hold it in anymore. She burst into hysterical laughter. "Hahaha! You actually walked around showing all of those?!"
Rong Ye wanted to cry. "I didn’t know! I had just woken up! I wasn’t awake yet!"
Shi Feng looked at Rong Ye’s panicked face before letting out a low chuckle.
"Heh... you really do know how to make an unforgettable first impression."
Rong Ye looked as if the sky had fallen. "I don’t want this kind of unforgettable experience!"
Rong Ye was in a state of absolute emergency.
He refused to walk through the main hall looking like a mess. He, who always took immense pride in his refined dressing sense and cultured behavior, could never accept such a catastrophic blunder.
Moving with lightning speed, he unsealed the bedroom window that had been shut tight against the winter night, popped it open, and jumped straight out into the crisp morning air.
He snuck around the back of the house to enter the kitchen from the rear door, entirely bypassing the guests.
In the kitchen, he ran directly into Hu Yan and Han Jue. The two beastmen paused, looking at his frantic state.
"What happened to you?" Hu Yan asked, raising an eyebrow.
Rong Ye only gave them a thoroughly sullen look, refusing to speak.
Seeing his grumpy face, the two beastmen simply shook their heads, ignored him, and calmly continued preparing the morning meals.
Rong Ye quickly fetched a large basin of warm water and snuck right back into the bedroom through the window, sealing it tightly behind him.
With the hot water ready, Rong Ye, Shi Feng, and Su Qinglan immediately washed up and got dressed.
Rong Ye bundled himself up meticulously in layers of elegant, warm robes, making absolutely sure that every single inch of his skin and those embarrassing bite marks was completely covered.
Only when he felt he perfectly held the dignified title of a refined young master did he agree to step out.
The moment Su Qinglan pushed open the bedroom door and stepped into the main hall, she was instantly greeted by several pairs of bright, eager eyes.
Her gaze landed straight on the three teenage beastmen.
The triplets’ eyes widened into dinner plates the moment they saw her.
They instantly scrambled out of their chairs and stood perfectly straight, bowing their heads in unison.
"Good morning, Elder Sister! I am Yin Chen," the first one greeted nervously.
"I am Yin Shen," the second one followed up quickly.
"I am Yin Lie," the third one concluded, his voice trembling slightly.
Su Qinglan waved her hand gently, a warm, beautiful smile spreading across her face.
"Why are you being so formal? We are family. Just sit down," she said, gracefully taking a seat on a nearby chair.
As the three boys sat back down, they noticed Rong Ye and Shi Feng walking out right behind her.
Rong Ye held his head high, staring straight at the opposite wall, completely avoiding their eyes out of pure embarrassment.
Shi Feng, on the other hand, greeted the young hawk beastmen with a remarkably warm, welcoming smile.
The triplets became flustered all over again under their heavy, powerful auras.
They quickly blurted out their greetings to both of them. Even when they greeted Rong Ye, the fox beastman only let out a stiff, quiet huff of "Good morning," still stubbornly refusing to look them in the eye.
Su Qinglan chuckled softly at the tension and looked down at the floor.
The cubs were all completely awake now, happily tumbling over each other like little cotton bal
ls. She noticed with a spark of joy that her younger siblings were each carefully holding or petting one of her babies.
It seemed her little cubs had already warmed up to their new uncles completely.
But as she scanned the room, she blinked and asked, "Wait, where is Xiao San?"
Hearing her question, the three triplets instantly perked up their ears, their inner thoughts racing.
They remembered second sister Lan Yue telling them that their elder sister had eight children in total.
But counting the two tiger cubs, the one lion cub, the two wolf twins, and the little fox, there were only six cubs here. Where were the other two?
Lan Yue giggled and answered, "Xiao San, that little sleepyhead, is still fast asleep in the back room. He hasn’t woken up at all. I actually snuck inside earlier to check on him."
Su Qinglan nodded understandingly, her heart softening.
She patted her robes and stood up. "You all wait here and drink your warm soup. I will go into the room and check on him myself."
