CLEAVER OF SIN Chapter 987: Drama Series Ends [GT Ranking Bonus - ]

Asher didn’t reply. He wasn’t about to reply to such an occultic statement. He knew there was no way he could take on these people; it was simply impossible. But Asher neither had the strength nor the time to begin some sort of cliche training-and-revenge arc in his life, then exact his revenge, settle down, marry a wife, and try to rebuild the Wargrave family.
He had no time for such things. If his family members were dead, then he would surely join them in the afterlife. He had died once already, after all. There was nothing left to be afraid of.
He immediately lowered himself into a stance as Star Energy began to surge around him while he prepared to tap into Star Form and dive into the Star Stanza of Song Of Virelass.
"It seems, at the end of the day, we still have to do things the hard way," Threshold II stated, as he had anticipated this outcome.
Even if Asher had nodded and joined them, neither he, Threshold II, nor the others would truly believe him. They would simply assume he was joining them to gather information that he would later use for their destruction once he became strong enough.
He raised a hand, about to attack and put Asher out of his misery, when a voice echoed through the air.
"It seems this particular drama series ends here."
And with that, a familiar, thin, golden-orange Solar Energy erupted as a sword slash descended with frightening power, the attack aimed directly at the Thresholds without a shred of hesitation.
Threshold I merely gazed at Malrik’s attack with an indifferent expression, and it immediately shattered into countless crescent-shaped sword slashes. But Malrik’s attack hadn’t ended there, as the very next moment the crescent sword slashes seemed to gain minds of their own. Instantly, the Numbers, all ten of them, were reduced to minced meat as they couldn’t even follow the speed of Malrik’s attack.
Blood splattered across the ground as chunks of flesh fell in neat cube-like pieces.
Everyone stood shocked and stunned. Who didn’t know that confident voice? Who didn’t recognize that unique Energy? Who didn’t know that outrageous swordsmanship? Everyone’s heads immediately snapped upward, and there, Malrik Wargrave could be seen standing in the sky with his katana still sheathed at his waist, as he hadn’t even needed to unsheathe it for the attack he had just unleashed.
Asher stood rooted to his position, unable to understand what was happening. He had seen Malrik’s corpse... The moment that thought crossed his mind, his eyes immediately snapped towards where Malrik’s corpse was supposed to be. But he wasn’t the only one looking in that direction. Everyone from the Convergence was.
The moment their eyes landed upon the corpses, they began to glow before glitching, then vanished from reality as though they had been nothing more than illusions all along.
Rachael’s corpse vanished. Olivia’s disappeared. Xavian’s faded away. One after another, every corpse disappeared.
Everyone’s eyes immediately snapped towards the sky, and there, beside Malrik, each member of the Wargrave family began to appear one after another. From the Elders, to the Suns, to the Moons, to the Great Elders. Even the three Baron families were all floating in the air under Azaron’s support as everyone stared down upon everything below.
Everyone’s eyes trembled in shock as they couldn’t believe what they were seeing. Threshold VI had assured them there was no deception, and yet, right before their very eyes, there most definitely had been one.
They didn’t blame Threshold VI. Everyone knew every ability possessed its own weakness, and whoever had created those clones had done a truly remarkable job.
As for the culprit responsible for those clones, it was none other than Morthern himself. He hadn’t merely created clones of everyone. No, he had created soul clones by using his Fictional Reality ability to borrow a tiny fragment of everyone’s soul. Using those fragments, he created soul clones, with the condition that once the clones died, the soul fragments would immediately return to their rightful owners.
As for why Asher had been left behind on his own... well, his system had essentially stopped Morthern the moment he tried to take a fragment of Asher’s soul. Upon meeting resistance, the man didn’t force the issue and immediately withdrew. To the system, it had merely been a harmless probe while they were aboard the Sky Jet, so it hadn’t bothered notifying Asher.
So Azaron had simply left Asher behind to strengthen and broaden his mentality and mental fortitude through a taste of genuine horror. After all, how could an attack capable of killing Azaron, Morthern, and every Great Elder possibly fail to kill Asher?
But one had to ask... what had made Azaron and Morthern suddenly decide to create soul clones for everyone?
Well... Solaris’ abilities had activated. A minute after the Sky Jet took off, the soul-bound katana warned Malrik that the Sixth Sun, Ezekiel, was destined to die at the hands of the Numbers. Of course, Malrik had no idea who these Numbers were.
So he simply informed Azaron and Morthern, and together, the trio devised this entire scenario.
This was precisely why Malrik had killed the Numbers the very moment he appeared. By killing them, Ezekiel’s fate had effectively been changed. His attack against the Thresholds had merely been a diversion, as he knew they would instinctively block it, thereby granting him the opening he needed to eliminate the Numbers.
Since he didn’t know which Number was responsible for Ezekiel’s death, he simply killed every single one of them.
But the surprises weren’t over just yet. The very next moment, space bent once more, and from the distortion stepped the Black Disaster and the World Girl. Azazel wore a wide grin upon his face as he floated in the air, while Arianna stared at Asher, wondering why he was down there while the rest of the Wargraves were up in the sky.
Azazel and Arianna had been present all along. Azazel had agreed to travel with Azaron after the man suggested it. But he hadn’t openly revealed himself. Instead, they had simply allowed clones to board their jets, while their real bodies remained hidden inside a Separate Dimension created by Azaron through his mastery over space.
If Cindralis could create a Separate Dimension, why couldn’t Azaron Wargrave?
If Azazel and Arianna hadn’t hidden themselves and instead openly travelled alongside the Wargraves, their enemies would have immediately discovered them, completely ruining the element of surprise that Azaron and Azazel had carefully prepared.
The moment Azazel appeared, the Thresholds immediately frowned. Initially, they had planned to divide their forces and confront Azazel and Azaron separately. However, they had ultimately abandoned that plan and left Azazel to the Sinvairas. Which meant the Azazel the Sinvairas were currently intercepting was nothing more than a fake.
Originally, they had planned for Threshold I to face Azaron, Threshold II to fight Morthern, and Threshold III to engage Damian.
But now, with Azazel present, that formation would likely have to change, allowing Damian to run rampant and dictate the pace of the entire battlefield. They knew just how absurdly overpowered his Calculator ability truly was.
But at the same time, things had also become favorable for them. The one blessed by the World and the one blessed by the Star were both gathered here.
This was no longer merely an operation to eliminate their enemies.
This had become an operation to capture those two alive... and escape.
