CLEAVER OF SIN Chapter 1235: Acknowledgement [Super Gift Bonus - ]
Previously on CLEAVER OF SIN...
Yveric was a stoic man by nature. He didn’t smile often and hardly ever revealed his thoughts. He didn’t grin in battle like many others, even when he enjoyed it. He was a Knight, and that was all.
"Thank you for opening my eyes, Sinvaira."
He stated as he settled into another combat stance, ready to pick up the pace.
"The name’s Vellamira."
Vellamira replied with a dangerous smile on her face. She didn’t settle into any stance like Yveric; she simply waited for him to move, and then she would react accordingly. That was all.
Yveric no longer spoke. From his body, his Astra Energy was unleashed with pure force, as he no longer tried to conserve it or use it sparingly, unlike earlier when he had simply been stalling.
His lips parted, and he pointed his lance forward, his Word Law activating as he spoke.
His Astra Energy spiked in response, surging down his lance and gathering at the tip as the next moment, a black hole with unparalleled attractive force was created. With each passing moment, its size increased, and the force of attraction intensified alongside it.
The earth below surged towards the black hole, sound vanished into it, followed by colour, air, light, particles, and everything else within its reach.
Vellamira’s body was immediately hurled forward as she, too, was affected. Her eyes narrowed as she prepared to react, but the moment she got close, Yveric did the unthinkable.
The black hole increased in size for a split second, then collapsed as it exploded outwards with all-encompassing erasing power.
A gravitational blast wave erupted, slamming into everything and shredding apart whatever it came into contact with. Space was ripped into ribbons, and the surrounding terrain was subjected to the terrifying force of the explosion.
Vellamira’s eyes narrowed, as the battle had been taken to an unbelievable level. With the gravitational blast wave about to connect with her body, she immediately found a foothold in the air, her legs meeting the air barrier once more as she shot into the sky, her figure vanishing into the clouds as she barely dodged the attack.
But the moment she dodged through her insane speed and ridiculous reaction time, Yveric was already prepared. He had anticipated that she would move there, as the sky was the only place she could escape to without using Astra Energy or any ability.
His already surging Astra Energy surged once more as he spoke, his Word Law echoing throughout the World of Reflection.
The moment those words left his lips, the clouds in the sky instantly vanished from their original position as they appeared below, meeting the earth. The moment they appeared, the gravitational blast wave was gone, as it appeared in the sky instead, then slammed into Vellamira with point-blank accuracy.
Vellamira could only wear a weak smile. Even if she was physically superior to Yveric, this was a gravitational burst. She couldn’t tank it with her body without getting injured, and nobody liked getting injured for whatever reason.
She snapped her fingers, her Astra Energy coming alive as it surged around her. The next moment, her body vanished from where she stood as the gravitational blast wave tore through the area, ripping holes through everything in its path.
Yveric remained calm. He could tell that Vellamira had escaped at the last moment and that the attack hadn’t hit her, so he simply searched for her.
A tall, rectangular glass immediately appeared midair after the gravitational blast wave was done. Through the glass, Vellamira stepped out, her figure as graceful as ever and somewhat tempting, if not for the glass shards surrounding her body.
The moment she appeared, she closed the distance, still deciding to stick to pure physical attacks as she couldn’t be bothered to use her abilities. Yveric didn’t move; he remained in the sky as he watched the attack close in. Vellamira sent a high kick towards his forehead, her leg tearing forward like a whip.
Yveric simply spoke.
A portal tore open before his head the moment Vellamira’s toes were about to land. Vellamira’s reaction was anything but slow; it seemed even faster than instantaneous movement as she reacted immediately. Her body recalibrated as she stepped onto the air barrier in front of the portal and swung to the side.
As someone who had lived for almost twenty thousand years, she possessed an insane amount of battle experience. She knew Yveric’s plan. Once her foot entered that portal, Yveric would close it, thereby tearing off her leg.
The moment she dodged to the side, Yveric reacted accordingly, his body shooting to the side as he unleashed a punch towards Vellamira’s head before she could regain her balance in the air.
Vellamira’s eyes snapped towards the incoming attack, and she moved, her body twisting in an unnatural direction, her bones moving as though they were made of rubber as she dodged by a mere centimetre.
The missed punch unleashed a torrent of wind through the sky, but neither of them paid it any attention as Vellamira unleashed yet another kick, even while in an unnatural position.
Yveric caught her leg this time with his hand. He spun in the air, dragging her along with him, then threw her downwards with immense force. But it was useless, as before Vellamira could even reach the ground, she caught herself with ease.
Yveric’s voice reached her ears. Her head snapped upwards, and from the sky, a thick column of pure, incandescent light flashed downwards.
Vellamira moved, her body shooting backwards like a dart, but the moment she moved, another Light Pillar came down upon her head. As she was about to dodge through sheer speed, Yveric’s voice came once more.
Although Yveric had failed to freeze or hold Vellamira in place three different times to allow an attack to land, he had found a way around that this time.
His freezing and locking attacks usually worked for the briefest of moments before Vellamira broke free. What Yveric was simply doing was choosing when that briefest moment would occur.
And that briefest moment was the instant between her beginning to dodge the Light Pillar attack and the attack connecting with her body and injuring her.
And so, she froze in the sky, time halting her in place once more. Her eyes moved within their sockets without her head moving as she watched the attack slam into her body.
Her skin tore as pure light raced through her internal body. She burned alive, but she didn’t scream; she simply gritted her teeth and endured.
With a hum, the Light Pillar vanished as Yveric stopped channelling Astra Energy into it. He stared at the blackened Vellamira, his eyes flickering with satisfaction, as he had at least managed to injure this Sinvaira once.
As he was about to unleash another attack, Vellamira, who was floating a distance away, cracked like a shard of glass, then shattered into bits.
Yveric stopped in pure shock. His head whipped in the direction where a minuscule amount of Astra Energy had fluctuated, and from that direction, a familiar rectangular glass appeared. From it, Vellamira emerged gracefully once more.
She stared at Yveric as she spoke.
"You’ve made me use two different abilities now. You are progressing as this goes on."
She stated, acknowledging his efforts, combat experience, and senses. But alas, it was useless against her.
