CLEAVER OF SIN Chapter 1231: Power-up [Super Gift Bonus - ]
Previously on CLEAVER OF SIN...
Within the Zarethorne Empire, at an unknown location, inside a dimly lit chamber, a huge circular table could be seen situated in the middle.
Around the table sat eight beings, their faces calm and somewhat indifferent, but deep down, each of them was filled with pure excitement.
They were the Sinvairas.
Vellamira, Sinvaira of Vanity.
Duremir, Sinvaira of Betrayal.
Sarneth, Sinvaira of Deceit.
Vornis, Sinvaira of Laziness.
Nahlira, Sinvaira of Despair.
Cindaros, Sinvaira of Obsession.
Halemir, Sinvaira of Control.
Kraymar, Sinvaira of Resentment.
Only Vornis remained casual, like whatever was happening didn’t concern her. Halemir had been at the Velkarin Empire barely ten minutes ago, yet he was sitting here, having crossed a distance that would take even someone like Azaron seven days to traverse.
It wasn’t that he had physically crossed such a distance, but rather that the Halemir who had met with Emperor Horace Sol Virelle was nothing more than a puppet under his control. As the Sinvaira of Control, he had numerous puppets under his control at the moment.
His real body had remained here all along, as there was no way meeting someone as insignificant as a puppet Emperor would require his true body.
"What is the update on the Wargrave?"
Nahlira, the Sinvaira of Despair, asked calmly, her eyes shifting towards Halemir.
Halemir turned towards her and replied calmly.
"According to the puppet, Azaron headed towards the Velkarin Empire to seek revenge for what happened to his Frontiers. Morthern has also left, having been instructed by Azaron to look after the Frontier in his absence."
He replied, receiving real-time information from one of the Nobles stationed near the Wargrave Family Estate.
"Hooo!!! It seems that Azaron and Azazel are going to clash once more. After all, even if the Black Disaster loves his freedom and considers nobility a chore, he won’t be able to sit back and watch Azaron destroy his Empire."
Duremir, the Sinvaira of Betrayal, stated with an intrigued smile plastered across his face.
"Honestly, that is a battle I would pay to watch. Too bad I didn’t get to see them fight the first two times. If I had, we could have eliminated them back then."
Vellamira, the Sinvaira of Vanity, spoke, as she truly wanted to witness the battle. Her eyes were distant as he could already imagine the glorious confrontation.
Kraymar, the Sinvaira of Resentment, tapped the armrest of his chair in contemplation. After a moment, his lips parted as he spoke.
"Should we head over to the Velkarin Empire and eliminate both Azaron and Azazel after they’ve exhausted each other? As friends, I’m sure they won’t kill each other, so this is the best chance we’ll get in a long while."
He suggested, his words convincing and too accurate to ignore. Although the Velkarin Empire was too far away, they possessed a singular artefact that allowed them to cross such distances effortlessly. As beings who had been alive for thousands of years, it was only natural that they would have found such an artefact to eliminate the time wasted travelling between their bases.
"While that is a nice suggestion, we shouldn’t derail from the original plan. Otherwise, what’s the point of them in the first place?"
Cindaros, the Sinvaira of Obsession, spoke as she shook her head. Although they could gang up on those two, it was still very risky. They had to finish growing stronger before making any moves at all.
"I agree with Cindaros. There is no need to derail our plans. Besides, we already have plans for the man in case he ever becomes a true obstacle."
Duremir followed up, his face displaying the expression of someone deep in thought.
As the others were about to speak, their auras suddenly became unstable. The chairs they sat on and the table before them cracked and shattered the next moment.
Their flesh began to expand, their muscles and muscle fibres growing larger, and their skin stretching in tandem as their bones hardened. Astra Energy erupted from their bodies as the sheer volume they possessed increased in real time.
"HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!! YES!!! THIS IS WHAT I’M TALKING ABOUT!!!!"
Nahlira shouted loudly as she felt an immense amount of power course through her entire body. It didn’t stop; it continued to climb steadily until it suddenly came to a halt.
The other Sinvairas wore huge smiles on their faces, except for Vornis, the Sinvaira of Laziness, who had fallen asleep in the middle of the discussion. Even as her strength increased, she didn’t wake up, as though she couldn’t be bothered to even care.
She yawned in her chair and changed positions.
The others didn’t pay her any mind. They were used to this sight, so it wasn’t anything surprising.
When Emperor Horace Sol Virelle had said that one of the goals of this war was for the Sinvairas to grow stronger, he hadn’t been wrong. And just as he had said, they were growing stronger through the carnage of the two Empires.
"Orvak would have been happiest if he were alive."
Vellamira suddenly spoke as she remembered their old, deceased comrade.
"Indeed, he would have been."
Sarneth agreed as she waved her hand, causing another chair and table to appear. She simply sat down and decided to wait for the next incoming power-up.
"Do you think any of us are strong enough to take on Azaron and Morthern now?"
Kraymar asked, his tone filled with curiosity.
Although none of them ever said it aloud, they knew that these beings spawned from the Blood of Doom were too powerful. There had hardly been anyone on their level in the past.
"Maybe after another power-up, which should come in a couple of hours..."
Halemir answered, his tone holding a hint of uncertainty, as even he wasn’t certain.
Even now, they had another issue by the name of Threshold I. They hadn’t expected that woman to survive against Azaron and even escape, which proved just how formidable she was on her own.
"You’re right. We should wait for another one."
Halemir immediately agreed. It wasn’t that he was trying to challenge Azaron; he wasn’t. He simply wanted to meet the man without having to run away the next time.
He was the projection Azaron had encountered when Azaron killed Valentine.
"Anyway, now that Azaron is away and only Yveric and a few Knights are available, who will be going?"
Cindaros asked, bringing the discussion back to the important matter at hand.
"I propose that two people go this time. After all, Orvak left alone and never came back. It’s best to be cautious."
Sarneth proposed, as she didn’t want to lose another person in action.
The others considered it for a moment, then nodded in agreement. Two would leave this time, and if neither of them returned, they would shift their plans perhaps two thousand years into the future, when Azaron, Asher, Malrik, and Morthern had all died.
"I will go, although it might be quite boring."
Kraymar stated as he took up the job. He leaned back in his seat with a flicker of interest.
"Then I suppose I will be going with you, Kraymar."
Vellamira followed up with a calm smile on her face as she glanced in Kraymar’s direction.
Kraymar met his eyes, then simply nodded, as he had no objections.
"Then it’s decided. Kraymar and Vellamira will go."
Duremir stated with finality. Everyone leaned back in their seats with smiles on their faces. After such a long time, one of their plans was finally moving forward.
But their smiles froze when the sound of a snore tore through the air. Their eyes shifted towards the sleeping beauty at the side, but they said and did nothing.
