Lyra reveals her breakthrough to the Crownstar Life Rank, astonishing Asher with her rapid progress. She demonstrates the new abilities associated with this rank, including defying gravity, manipulating physical age, and controlling ambient Astra energy. While Lyra can now heal more severe injuries, she cannot regrow limbs.

Asher remained silent as he listened. Heightened natural regeneration was an immense bonus. Although it didn’t allow limb regeneration or the growth of a new organ, it didn’t matter; in a fight, one didn’t have to worry about minor injuries. And besides, although the eye was an organ, he felt as though something as simple as an eye could be regrown through natural regeneration.

He sighed and shook his head. He couldn’t help but imagine the stamina, speed, strength, and endurance people of such a rank possessed. A smile appeared on his lips. He would get there someday; it was simply a matter of time. Unless he died early, it was practically guaranteed.

"How is your ability acquisition going?" Asher asked, his purple eyes settling on Lyra for a moment.

To Asher, this was very important. While she was strong, abilities were extremely important. It was because of the existence of abilities that a random Crownstar could overpower someone like Jennifer, just because her own abilities were focused on healing and were not combat- and destruction-based.

With numerous abilities, Lyra might be able to fight above her own sub-Life Rank and maybe even kill her own opponent.

But he was just guessing. Lyra was the one with the Devour ability, not him.

At Asher’s question, Lyra’s smile vanished. She paused for a moment as she didn’t speak immediately. She sighed, then began to speak as she bowed.

"I apologize, Young Master." Her tone tingled with guilt. "For the past eight months and two weeks since you entered seclusion, I haven’t acquired any abilities and spent all of my time cultivating to break through to the Crownstar Life Rank." She bowed as she spoke, as though awaiting her punishment.

Initially, Lyra had been planning on training, then going on to kill various beings and acquire their abilities, but all that changed after her discussion with the Head Butler, Zarek. From that moment on, all she wanted to do was break through to the Crownstar Life Rank and help her Young Master escape, even if she couldn’t defeat the opponent.

Yes, the Devour ability was an impressive ability, but one had to remember that Crownstar Life Rankers weren’t random beings. Just devouring even hundreds of Monsters, Beasts, and Emovira would not immediately grant her the physical strength, speed, reaction time, and prowess to keep pace with such beings.

She needed to step into the Crownstar Life Rank first, then devour various Monsters and Beasts to increase her own physical parameters while also acquiring abilities.

Asher stayed silent for a moment, his mind shifting through his own personal thoughts as though weighing the advantages of Lyra’s breakthrough against the advantage of only acquiring abilities and physical stats from beings she devoured.

"I respect your decision, and it was the right one." He acknowledged it. "But, at the same time, it doesn’t change the fact that you still need to acquire abilities, so I will give you a month to acquire everything you need. With your Crownstar Life Rank, you should be able to wipe out Rank 9 Emovira, Void-class Monsters, and the likes, hence making everything easier and faster," he stated.

’And me, I will spend the whole time in cultivation and try to break through to the next rank. Luckily, my passive cultivation speed has increased, so the Spark sub-Life Rank isn’t far away,’ he thought to himself.

Lyra nodded and said nothing else, although she felt a bit guilty. To her, the Young Master had changed plans for her. They had planned to leave immediately, but because he wanted her to gain enough abilities and gain as much as she could, he gave her a month.

"Thank you, Young Master," she stated.

Asher nodded and leaned against his seat as he asked one more question.

"How many people know about your breakthrough?" he asked calmly. Personally, he wanted to know if the breakthrough to the Crownstar Life Rank had caused any form of commotion or something, which would mean that Crownstar Life Rankers couldn’t hide their breakthroughs.

Lyra stayed silent for a moment, then answered, "I suspect the Primarch and the Head Butler already know," she stated.

Indeed, her breakthrough had caused a bit of commotion, as all the Astra energy in the area had surged towards her at the moment of her breakthrough, as though facilitating it in a way. Although nobody was there, nor did she sense anyone around her during or after her breakthrough, when she had stepped out after her breakthrough, Zarek had gazed at her a second longer than usual.

To her, that was all the proof she needed.

Asher stayed silent for a moment, then spoke, "I wouldn’t be too surprised if they already knew that you were at the Radiant Soulstar Life Rank before you even entered the Crownstar Life Rank." His tone was calm. "It’s the only explanation for why they didn’t call upon you or suspect you as a spy or anything of the sort," he explained.

Lyra stayed silent for a moment, then nodded her head in agreement, as she had guessed something of the nature too.

"Anyway, it doesn’t matter if they know or not. The fact that they now have another Crownstar Life Ranker is cause for celebration for them," Asher mused.

Lyra nodded again, not exactly saying anything. To her, she had suspected that the Head Butler knew something when he advised her to be with the Young Master at all times on the battlefield. Of course, she didn’t suspect him at that point in time, but after her breakthrough.

"Well, whatever," Asher sighed as he rose from his seat. "You should get ready. I wouldn’t be seeing you for the next one month after all," he stated.

Lyra nodded her head, as she knew it was time to leave yet again.

"Has the Young Master decided which Frontier we are visiting?" she asked after a moment of thought.

"I will tell you upon your return, and upon your return, we will be leaving two days after that," Asher replied, as he hadn’t chosen any Frontier.

He would simply make his decision when Lyra returned.

"I understand," Lyra stated, then bowed one last time and turned around as she moved to head towards her battlefield.

Although she was tempted to fight an End-class Monster, she also understood the implications. After all, unlike Humans, Monsters didn’t have sub-classifications, meaning any random End-class Monster she met could kill her and unleash an Empire-wide war on the spur of the moment.

As Lyra left, Asher sighed and walked towards the window. He gazed outside. It was now time to cultivate and try to break through before he reached whatever Frontier he chose, although he had just come out and it felt a bit too much to immediately go back in. It was necessary.

Time waited for no one.

But, since it was a new day, he would give himself today, and maybe tomorrow, then lock himself away in pure cultivation.

’What should I spend my today on?’ he thought to himself as he gazed at the outside world.

He couldn’t help but reminisce about transmigrating for the first time and wanting to jump off the window just to test out a theory of his. He shook his head. He simply couldn’t jump at the time to prove his theories because he didn’t have any suicidal thoughts.
