CLEAVER OF SIN Chapter 1023: Test
Previously on CLEAVER OF SIN...
As they concluded the matter of the sibling outing, not yet picking a date or time, as matters like that could be handled at any time, they shifted the discussion in another direction.
"So, Asher, how does it feel to go back to school after having so much fun, shifting between classes and missions, such a chore," Mary stated as her eyes shifted towards Asher, a smile appearing on her lips.
No matter what era it was, people were simply not a fan of school.
Olivia smiled as she floated midair. "I guess he would become Mr. Popular, since many women would flock to him the moment he returns," she smirked, then added, "it’s your chance to go wild, brother."
Ezekiel, who was lying beside Mary, smiled evilly as he spoke, "It seems you guys don’t know, but Asher is already making moves on that Arianna girl. He gave her a dagger with his Mark on it, so he could teleport to her at any time," he spilled the beans without a single moment of hesitation.
Every eye turned towards Asher as they stared at him in surprise, not expecting him to move so fast.
"I didn’t know you were a sharpshooter, Mr. Champion," Xavian teased with a smile on his face.
Asher could feel a headache coming. He couldn’t help but wonder why everyone was simply misunderstanding the situation. But he knew that if he said something, these so-called siblings would only keep saying more outrageous stuff.
Olivia’s eyes shifted towards Thalric, who was seated on a chair, as she spoke, "Look at you Thalric, even your junior brother has gotten a woman before you."
Thalric rolled his eyes as he replied, "Talk to me when you get a man. You are just as single as I am."
"Whatever, I can get a man anytime," Olivia replied, breaking eye contact.
Wuthenya simply ignored Olivia and Thalric, her green eyes fixed on Asher as she spoke, "So tell us, what’s the progress between the both of you?" She asked, "I’m guessing you guys already shared a kiss, right? If not, you wouldn’t give her a Marked dagger to teleport to her, and she wouldn’t accept it." She stared into Asher’s eyes as though she wanted to drag out his soul and search for answers.
Asher couldn’t believe what he was seeing. Everyone was simply looking at him, waiting for an answer. He couldn’t help but wonder when the Wargraves had turned into a group of gossipers.
"I have nothing to say," Asher finally replied. These people were no different from William and Finch, probably even worse.
Wuthenya smirked as she replied, "If you tell me, I will tell you about my own boyfriend. In fact, he is even here," she stated.
The moment she said those words, she froze. She had forgotten about her man. She was about to move, but stopped the next moment as she knew that Azaron was probably busy at the moment, and her boyfriend, along with the Rivelle, Canestane, and Whale families, were all within her Father’s Separate Dimension.
Asher arched an eyebrow. He didn’t know Wuthenya had a boyfriend; this was the first time he was hearing about this. But still, there would be no information trading. He knew Wuthenya only wanted more information to use as a weapon later.
"Since he is here, I will still get to meet him regardless of whether you tell me about him or not," he replied, declining her offer. "Besides, I plan to apply for early graduation the moment I head back to the Star Academy within the next two weeks," he added as he made his plans known.
Asher’s return date was two weeks away, because the entire Zarethorne Empire Sky Jet would spend one week on their journey back to the Zarethorne Empire, then Cindralis had given her students three days of holiday before they all returned to the Star Academy, so technically, ten days.
Asher’s words caused everyone to pause for a moment as they were all surprised by what he had said. Each person here had gone to the Star Academy; none of them had skipped school or skipped a year. Even Malrik had to complete all three years with his ridiculous talent, so hearing Asher talk about early graduation was a bit surprising.
"...I guess you are stronger than any graduating third-year student since the dawn of the Star Academy, since you defeated a Dust Voidstar Life Ranker, even though you had help," Xavian stated, his red eyes shifting towards Asher as he added, "but the question is, will Cindralis agree? After all, this is an unprecedented situation, and also because of your current fame, she might not be willing to let you go." His tone was flat and almost analytical.
"Although I don’t know how she would gain from your presence, since she doesn’t accept coins or any resources from anyone," he stated in finality.
Xavienne turned towards her twin brother for a moment, then shook her head, not saying what she had in mind about him.
Apollo, who had been silent, decided to speak. "Also, don’t bother meeting Father and trying to convince him to convince Cindralis. He wouldn’t agree," he stated. "Father is a hands-off type of guy when it comes to issues like this." His tone remained calm.
Everyone nodded as they knew the kind of man their Father was. If it wouldn’t kill you, he wouldn’t interfere. Simple.
Mary stayed silent for a moment as though considering a possibility, then she spoke.
"Who says Asher needs Cindralis’s approval?" she asked, a smile appearing on her face as her eyes left the ceiling she had been staring at and turned towards her siblings. She added, "He could just drop out, though."
At her words, it dawned on everyone that Asher could indeed just drop out. And since their Father hardly interfered in things like these, he wouldn’t say anything and would simply glance over it, accepting Asher’s decisions.
Wuthenya, who had been silent, decided to speak. "Cindralis would agree, but she would make you go through some early graduation test, and due to your immense talent and abilities, I imagine she would make it even harder," she stated, as she knew Cindralis more than her own siblings.
After all, she and Malrik had ruled the Star Academy during their days, and they were just one year apart.
"Besides, with how smart and cunning she is, I’m sure she has already anticipated you coming for early graduation and has already set up the perfect test in advance," Wuthenya mused to out loud.
Asher stayed silent for a moment, then simply nodded without a word. Although he didn’t know how well Wuthenya knew Cindralis, he agreed with what she said. After all, it made more sense to him.
As for dropping out... he could indeed do that, but that would be decided when he met with Cindralis. As for preparing for any test, there was nothing to prepare. He would simply get it done and try not to die.
Thalric, who was sitting backwards, fell into his own thoughts. He had been ready to enter the final year, the 3rd year, but with Asher graduating early, he was tempted to do the same. After all, graduating was never about Life Rank, but combat prowess and more.
’Should I join Ash and meet up with the Principal?’ he thought to himself.
After all, what could he possibly learn in a year there that he couldn’t learn on the outside? He decided to shelve the thought until they both returned to the Star Academy in ten days.
