Yang Zhenshan's disciples, Ma Qiuyan and Ning Yun, worked for half a month to set up the Taiyin Cold Pond Array in a mountain stream. Yang Zhenshan then returned to White Cloud Immortal City, where he discovered he was being watched. After arranging for Yun Xiao to leave the city, Yang Zhenshan deliberately fled, leading a pursuing Foundation Establishment cultivator into the mountains.

On the Flying Boat.

Zhou Tu’s gaze locked onto Yang Zhenshan's receding form and a ferocious grin split his face. "There! There! Hurry, pursue him!"

The vessel they occupied was a medium-sized flying boat, approximately twelve to thirteen zhang in length. Its fuselage possessed a spindle-like shape, reflecting a cold, unyielding sheen. The prow, elevated by three feet, featured an inlay of a partially cast bronze eagle's beak, from which a faint golden aura emanated.

As it soared through the air, a trail of light several zhang long extended behind it. From a distance, it resembled a metallic eagle in flight, casting a stark silhouette against the clouds.

Xu Mingzhu’s eyes also found Yang Zhenshan. Unlike Zhou Tu's overt eagerness, his gaze narrowed, his eyes as keen as those of a raptor.

"Master Zhou, this endeavor hinges on your expertise!"

He addressed an Elder cultivator, whose cultivation reached the Foundation Establishment stage, standing nearby. Master Zhou, stroking his grizzled beard, offered a reassuring smile. "Fear not, Master Xu. My array is prepared and poised for activation at your command."

Xu Mingzhu returned the smile with a nod. "As long as Master Zhou's array can enforce a void isolation, this individual is surely trapped!"

He was well aware of Yang Zhenshan’s mastery of teleportation, and thus, had made his own preparations.

Without a method to counteract teleportation, he would never have dared to act so boldly.

The solution to countering teleportation, naturally, lay in employing an array to isolate the void.

The teleportation or shifting abilities of Immortal Cultivators predominantly function by traversing the void; once the void is sealed off, such spatial manipulation abilities typically falter.

To ensure Yang Zhenshan could not escape his grasp once more, Xu Mingzhu had specifically enlisted Master Zhou to erect an array for void isolation.

Up ahead, Yang Zhenshan continued his flight. His individual speed could not rival the flying boat, yet in his flight, he still maintained a semblance of evasive maneuvering.

Amongst the verdant mountains and forests, he would sporadically swerve left and right, ostensibly using the terrain to evade the pursuing vessel. At times, he would engage his teleportation, traveling only twenty to thirty li per jump. In doing so, he skillfully guided the pursuing flying boat toward the great river canyon.

The sky above was overcast, its thick clouds resembling heavy lead, as if on the verge of crushing the towering peaks. The exposed, sharp rocks on the cliffs glinted with a somber, hard gray-black hue in the dimness, reminiscent of a colossal beast's bared fangs.

The canyon wound its course, growing progressively narrower and more confining, its contorted rock formations appearing like predatory monsters, silently anticipating the arrival of their prey.

The river’s roar was unceasing, like a ferocious yellow dragon charging forth, its waters churning in turbulent waves that shimmered with an unearthly white light under the somber heavens.

Yang Zhenshan, transforming into a streak of azure, moved swiftly across the surface of the tumultuous river. The flying boat behind him descended, maintaining a close pursuit.

As they neared the canyon's exit, Yang Zhenshan executed a sudden spatial shift, instantaneously reappearing several li ahead on the river's surface.

"Hurry, hurry, catch him!" Zhou Tu, positioned at the flying boat's prow, his eyes intensely fixed on Yang Zhenshan's form, cried out with unrestrained eagerness.

Xu Mingzhu, arms clasped behind his back, frowned slightly.

A sense of unease flickered within him, though he could not ascertain its source.

Just then, beside him, Master Zhou's expression shifted subtly the very instant the flying boat cleared the canyon.

"Halt!"

He bellowed suddenly.

Yet, it was already too late.

Perched above the mountainside, Ma Qiuyan sat in quiet contemplation beside the cold spring pool, her phoenix-like eyes observing the flying boat’s entry into the great array, a radiant smile gracing her beautiful features.

She formed a hand seal, sending a stream of light into the pool.

"Activate the Taiyin Cold Pond Array!"

At the river's bed, within a submerged, dimly lit water barrier, Ning Yun immediately perceived a potent cold aura emanating from the array plate before her. Without a moment's hesitation, she rapidly cast spell after spell, each wisp of spiritual light striking the array plate.

"Initiate the Taiyin Cold Pond Array!"

Typically, the central component of artifact arrays is the array plate itself. However, the Taiyin Cold Pond Array, intrinsically linked with the earth's formation and leveraging the advantageous topology of the location, designates the cold spring's water vein as its operational core, superseding the plate.

Nevertheless, the array plate functions as the command center, while the restrictive formations surrounding it constitute the primary energy nexus of the grand array.

With each pulse of spiritual light produced by Ning Yun, the spirit stones, comparable in size to small mountains, beside her instantly crumbled into dust, unleashing a torrent of spiritual energy that surged into the array plate.

In the subsequent moment, a piercingly cold aura radiated outwards from the array plate.

The chill permeated the water barrier and seeped into the river, yet it did not freeze the water; it merely rendered it intensely frigid.

Meanwhile, along the riverbanks, on the slopes, and at the base of the mountains, clusters of cold aura began to ascend, enveloping more than thirty li of the area in the span of a breath. Rumble~~ Suddenly, thunder boomed across the sky. The wind howled like a stampede, and the somber heavens ripped open with scarlet lightning, making the mountains tremble. Bean-sized raindrops began to fall, instantly transforming into a torrential downpour, mingling with the furious wind to form an impenetrable curtain of rain. The wind embraced the rain, the rain engulfed the wind, and the trees swayed violently in the tempest, groaning under immense pressure as dry branches snapped off, swiftly carried into the surging river. The storm lashed out, and the cold within the array surged like a maddened beast. The rain intensified, the cold grew more severe. Outside the array, Yang Zhenshan stood, his eyes ablaze with golden light, monitoring the alterations within the array. The Taiyin Cold Pond Array, while not a heavenly array capable of harnessing celestial phenomena, certainly holds the advantage of opportune timing.
