~5 minute read · 1,173 words

Atop a towering peak in the Nether Immortal Dynasty.

The surrounding mountain peaks were grim and forbidding.

In the distance, clouds swirled unpredictably, accompanied by a radiant glow.

At present, a large black carriage was parked atop a massive boulder.

Four fluffy little cats of different colors were lying atop the carriage, looking utterly adorable.

A robust black horse was also resting on the rock, its eyes closed as if in the midst of Cultivation.

On top of the carriage stood a small black bird, looking here and there as if searching for something.

Beside the carriage stood three youths, their extraordinary auras prominent as they stood against the wind.

These three individuals were none other than the future leading figures of the Dragon God Sect: Sect Master Luo Li, Senior Sister Su Wanyi, and Junior Brother Jun Moxiao.

Three months had passed, and all three had reached Level Two of the Nirvana Realm in their cultivation.

Jun Moxiao was even further ahead, on the verge of breaking through to the Third Level of the Nirvana Realm.

"The Old Ancestor has been away for over three months now. Why hasn’t he returned yet? I wonder how he is doing," Luo Li said, withdrawing her gaze from the distance, her expression melancholic as she lowered her head.

"Indeed. When the Old Ancestor went to the Divine Land before, he returned quickly. I wonder why he’s delayed this time. Could he have encountered some powerful spirit that’s managed to entangle him?" Su Wanyi speculated.

Jun Moxiao’s face was somewhat pale as he gazed into the distance and murmured, "Senior Sister, I have a bad feeling. I’m afraid the Old Ancestor... might not return this time."

"What nonsense are you spouting, Junior Brother!" Luo Li lifted her head, glaring at him unhappily.

"The Divine Land is teeming with spirits, and powerful experts are numerous. I’m afraid the Old Ancestor might have encountered some danger," Jun Moxiao’s face flushed crimson as he said awkwardly.

"Are you cursing the Old Ancestor to die?" Luo Li abruptly put her hands on her hips, glaring fiercely at Jun Moxiao.

"Senior Sister, please don’t misunderstand! I would never think such a thing," Jun Moxiao quickly explained.

"Junior Sister, don’t be so hard on Junior Brother. He’s still just a child," Su Wanyi gently advised from the side.

"Sigh, I know Junior Brother wouldn’t think that way," Luo Li sighed.

The Big Black Horse suddenly yawned, opened its eyes, and looked at the three youths. It chuckled, its lips twitching slightly as it said, "Young Masters, there’s no need to worry about Master. In this world, there’s no one who can even threaten him."

A hint of pride flashed in the Big Black Horse’s eyes as it finished speaking.

"Little Horse, you’re right. We’ll wait a bit longer then," Luo Li said with a smile.

Jun Moxiao clenched his fists, his gaze fixed on the horizon. He murmured despondently, "The Nether Immortal Ancient Land has been open for several days now, and the Old Ancestor still hasn’t returned. It looks like we’re going to miss out this time."

"The Nether Immortal Ancient Land isn’t such a great place anyway. It doesn’t matter whether we go or not," at this, the Azure Sea Heavenly Dragon, sprawled on the carriage, lazily opened one eye and drawled.

"The Nether Immortal Ancient Land is known as one of the Ten Great Immortal Lands. Naturally, it contains many treasures. It would indeed be a pity to miss out," Luo Li didn’t agree with the Azure Sea Heavenly Dragon. On the contrary, she felt her Junior Brother Jun Moxiao’s words made a lot of sense.

The Azure Sea Heavenly Dragon snorted, tucked its head beneath its fluffy belly, and resumed its deep slumber.

"Luo Li is right. It seems after three months, you’ve all been cooped up in this carriage so long you’re about to grow mold!" a warm, gentle male voice suddenly drifted down from mid-air.

Upon hearing this voice, everyone, including the several demon beasts, felt a jolt of energy. They all stood up and looked towards the sky.

"The Old Ancestor is back!" Luo Li cried out, her face flushing crimson with excitement.

A gentle smile graced Su Wanyi’s beautiful face.

The void rippled, and a figure in white, resembling a celestial being from a painting, stepped out.

"Old Ancestor, you’re finally back!" Jun Moxiao exclaimed, tears streaming down his face as he spoke, his voice choked with emotion, a mix of crying and laughing.

"I’m back." Ye Yun descended from mid-air. He reached out and gently ruffled the hair of the three young members of the Dragon God Sect.

"You’ve all done well. Your cultivation hasn’t slacked; you’ve all reached Level Two of the Nirvana Realm," Ye Yun said approvingly.

"Old Ancestor, now that you’re back, you won’t be leaving again after just a few days, will you?" Jun Moxiao asked anxiously, forgetting to wipe away his tears.

"Rest assured, I won’t be leaving again anytime soon," Ye Yun chuckled, then looked towards the four little cats on the carriage.

Little Cat’s cultivation base had broken through to the First Level of the Nirvana Realm, progressing with remarkable speed. The Big Black Cat was at the Fifth Level of the Destiny Realm. There wasn’t much change in the Bloody Overlord Demonic Dragon; after all, breaking through each level in the Eternal Realm required a considerable amount of time. As for the Azure Sea Heavenly Dragon, it had no opportunity to break through on the Cangnan Continent. The Xuan bird also showed little change. Mu Qing, inside the carriage, had also advanced to the Eighth Level of the Destiny Realm. She had been stuck at the Seventh Level of the Destiny Realm for a long time, so this breakthrough was a natural progression.

"Wow, what a huge silkworm baby!" Luo Li exclaimed, snapping back to attention. She had just noticed a plump, white silkworm floating behind the Old Ancestor. It was round and utterly adorable, and in her excitement, she gasped.

A dark line instantly appeared on the Immortal Divine Silkworm’s forehead.

Ye Yun chuckled.

"Little Silkworm, this young lady is Luo Li, the current Sect Master of the Dragon God Sect whom I mentioned to you," Ye Yun said, turning with a faint smile.

What?! The Immortal Divine Silkworm was instantly flustered. It hurriedly flew over and prostrated itself at Luo Li’s feet.

"Immortal Divine Silkworm greets Sect Master!" it kowtowed repeatedly, its voice loud and its demeanor utterly respectful.

On the carriage, the Azure Sea Heavenly Dragon craned its neck, staring at the plump white silkworm, its eyes wide with utter shock.

The Big Black Horse stared at the Immortal Divine Silkworm, its eyes widening in astonishment. "Master," it exclaimed, "you let it out?"
