Chaotic Sword God Chapter 3978: Arriving on the Jade’s End Heaven

“A loss is still a loss. Since I’ve been bested, you shall certainly receive what I pledged.” With a flick of Dan Chenzi’s wrist, seven pristine jade bottles shot forth, landing directly into the hands of the seven Immortal Emperors.
Accepting the containers, they instinctively flipped open the lids to inspect the contents. True to his word, each held three mid grade God Tier pills meant for restoring one's Cultivation. Their faces instantly lit up with immense satisfaction.
“Truly, the Hall of Alchemy stands as the wealthiest arm of our Sect. Your extravagance is legendary; giving away over twenty mid grade God Tier pills without even blinking? Dan Chenzi, you make me so jealous I am tempted to rob you.” One of the Immortal Emperors joked with a chuckle.
Afterward, Dan Chenzi handed Lin Sen the requested alchemy formula for a mid grade God Tier pill. He shot a sharp look at the teasing Immortal Emperor and declared solemnly, “If you seek to rob me, feel free at any time. I give you my word that I won't resist.”
“Hahaha, forget it. I would like to keep breathing for a while longer. Who isn't aware that your Hall of Alchemy is an indispensable treasure to our Sect Master? Any man brazen enough to target you would be skinned alive by him.” The Immortal Emperor roared with laughter.
“Precisely. The Hall of Alchemy is held in higher regard than we Immortal Emperors. Without it, the proper function of that peerless formation would be cast into doubt…”
“In this Sect, we could offend anyone, but never the Hall of Alchemy. Hahahaha…”
The rest of the Immortal Emperors joined in the lighthearted banter.
“I had no idea this place was so lively.” At that precise moment, a soft laugh interrupted them. Jian Chen materialized before the group.
The group of Immortal Emperors immediately ceased their joking, adopting stern expressions. They bowed respectfully, intoning, “Greetings, Sect Master!”
Jian Chen offered them a friendly nod before his gaze shifted to the jade bottle Lin Sen clutched. “Since the Spirit Transformation pills are essential for the Immortal Devouring Orchid, prioritize their refinement. Starting today, all available resources shall be funneled toward the production of Spirit Transformation pills.”
“I have strived to master the refinement of those pills to boost our output. Alas, only brother Lin Sen possesses the skill to produce them. I have failed you, Sect Master.” Dan Chenzi spoke with evident regret.
“Leave the Spirit Transformation pills to Lin Sen. Your Hall of Alchemy is stretched thin enough as it is. Oh, and if you spot any disciples with a natural gift for alchemy, bring them directly into the Hall of Alchemy,” Jian Chen instructed.
Suddenly, a massive shadow loomed, bathing everyone in darkness. The distinct pressure of an Immortal Exalt rippled outward, causing the assembled Immortal Emperors to struggle for breath.
The Immortal Devouring Orchid had arrived. Its colossal form spanned thousands of meters, blotting out the sky and radiating a power that no one could ignore.
Dan Chenzi and Lin Sen, along with the other Immortal Emperors, bowed deeply toward the entity, showing profound reverence.
The beast's oppressive presence faded as quickly as it had manifested. Upon spotting Jian Chen, its titanic body rapidly shrank, winding familiar and affectionate around his wrist like a bracelet.
Seizing the moment, Lin Sen offered the Spirit Transformation pills he had just finished. A surge of suction drew the jade bottle toward the orchid, which swallowed it whole.
His continued survival relied entirely on his ability to refine pills for the creature. Had the orchid not required these pills so desperately, Jian Chen would have ended his life back on the Reverent Observance Heaven.
Jian Chen gazed at the creature on his wrist with soft, appreciative eyes. He was filled with satisfaction; the orchid’s growth was exceeding his wildest expectations. Since their last encounter, it had made significant strides within the Second Heavenly Layer of Immortal Exalt and was surging toward the Third at an unstoppable speed.
It led Jian Chen to wonder if the creature might reach the Third Heavenly Layer before he concluded his upcoming secluded Cultivation.
Shortly thereafter, Jian Chen entered the internal realm of the Immortal Devouring Orchid. Inside this vast, world-like space, he observed the creature’s primary “sustenance.” A collection of corpses belonging to various experts hovered in the void, the true engine behind the orchid’s rapid evolution.
However, the bulk of these remains were those of Xuanhuang beasts.
Jian Chen took note of how significantly the pile of corpses had dwindled, and his initial cheer subsided. Every marginal increase in the creature's power required exponentially more resources. Sustaining this growth would only grow more difficult in the future.
Emerging from the internal space of the orchid, Jian Chen sought out Jing Mumu. He had intended to provide guidance on her Cultivation, but upon finding that she had entered the realm paved by the Nine Limits Saint, he realized she was already in deep meditation.
Choosing not to disturb her, Jian Chen exited the Primeval Divine Hall. He donned his mask from the Illusionary Daemon race and equipped the Divine Armour of Heavenflight to obscure his aura before checking a star chart to determine his location.
“Among the thirty-three heavens of the Immortals’ World, I find myself nearest to the Jade’s End Heaven,” Jian Chen muttered. As he locked eyes with that region on the chart, a peculiar spark ignited in his gaze.
“The Jade’s End Heaven—it is said the Master of Profound Secrets resides there.” Mention of that name immediately forced a memory of his discovery of Immortal Emperor Taihang’s demise on the Grand Sovereign Heaven.
Immortal Emperor Taihang had served as one of the final three great elders in the Sword Sect of Violet Heavens. Entrusted with a grave duty, he had led a contingent of disciples into hiding, hoping to preserve the sect’s legacy should their homeland fall.
Tragically, he was murdered while on the Grand Sovereign Heaven. Though Jian Chen had already exacted vengeance upon those directly responsible, it was the Master of Profound Secrets who had pulled the strings behind them.
Jian Chen’s expression chilled. With a casual flick of his hand, the chart vanished, replaced by an ornate tablet.
This was the personal token of the Master of Profound Secrets.
Jian Chen toyed with the object, a mysterious smile playing on his lips. An instant later, he vanished completely.
...
Within the bustling Azure Mountain City of the Jade’s End Heaven, Jian Chen sat in a secluded table at a local tavern, disguised as a bearded, rugged man. He nursed a cup of spiritual wine while sampling delicacies crafted from rare heavenly materials.
Every so often, he would cast a casual glance toward the jagged mountain range standing a thousand kilometres beyond the city walls.
Those peaks were known as the Azure Light mountain—the seat of the Master of Profound Secrets.
Azure Mountain City attained its fame across the Jade’s End Heaven because of its proximity to those mountains. It essentially operated as a vassal of the Master of Profound Secrets.
The Master claimed no sect or family. He was not only a celebrated peak expert within the heaven but also one of the rare alchemy masters to be found in the entire Immortals’ World. While the city prospered under his protection, it was not his private domain; it had originally begun merely as a point of sale for his elixirs, gradually evolving into the thriving city it was today.
