Bringing The Farm To Live In Another World Chapter 1 - Transmigration

“Young master, it is time to rise. You must get out of bed for your morning meal.”

A deep, remarkably formal voice resonated near Zhao Hai’s ear. He ignored it at first, his mind clouded by a brutal headache. He assumed he had simply left his computer running and was hearing dialogue from a television series.

However, the speaker persisted: “Young master, please wake up. For a noble, it is a virtuous habit to rise early.”

Zhao Hai’s mind went blank. The voice didn't sound like it was coming from a computer; it felt as though someone was standing right beside him. It was far too clear and lifelike to be produced by his low-quality speakers.

Despite the throbbing pain in his skull, Zhao Hai forced his eyelids open. Instead of the familiar white ceiling of his apartment, a muslin bed canopy greeted his vision.

Dazed, he turned his head and realized he was resting on an expansive wooden bed. Beside him stood a man in his fifties. The man’s grey hair was meticulously groomed, and his expression was stern yet calm as he observed him.

Zhao Hai stared at the dignified elder in confusion before scanning his surroundings. He was in a remarkably sparse stone room. Aside from the large bed, the only other furniture consisted of a single desk and chair. The walls and floor appeared freshly cleaned. The window frames were covered with layers of white paper, and a glowing stone fixed to the ceiling provided the only light. The room held nothing else.

The old man spoke again: “Young master, since you have recovered, please stand. A noble must maintain a disciplined lifestyle. Breakfast is ready, so please get up quickly.”

As Zhao Hai looked at the man, a sudden realization struck him—transmigration! Immediately after, a sharp, agonizing pain pierced his brain, and he lost consciousness once more.

Green Buda watched the fainting Zhao Hai with a look of brief distraction before hurrying out of the room. Four people waited outside: two men and two women. The males were just teenagers, yet they stood over two meters tall with swarthy skin and muscles that looked like forged iron. They were identical twins with short hair, though they possessed somewhat vacant expressions.

Of the two females, the elder was over forty with a stout figure and blue hair. She had a kind face, though she currently looked quite worried.

The younger girl appeared to be sixteen or seventeen. With her long cyan hair, oval face, and delicate features, she was a striking beauty. She stood with her head bowed, looking dazed.

When Green emerged, the older woman immediately asked, “Green, what is the situation? Is the young master awake?”

Green nodded, then shook his head in frustration.

“He regained consciousness briefly, but then he blacked out again. Merine, could there be a problem with your magic? Or perhaps the medicine was compromised? Did someone tamper with it?”

Merine’s gaze turned icy. “If that is true, I will hunt down those responsible. Even if the young master was a bit of a rogue, he is the final descendant of the Buda family. Have those imperial cowards forgotten how much the old master sacrificed for the empire? Those ungrateful wretches.”

Green replied gravely, “You should go inside and check on him. If necessary, use your water magic to stabilize him. We must protect the last of the Buda bloodline at any cost.”

Merine nodded, then gave Green a sharp look. “Once the young master recovers, you are to stop pestering him with your noble requirements. We are stuck in this wretched place; noble etiquette is meaningless now. I am sick of those aristocratic pretenses.”

Green looked at Merine with a sense of helplessness but remained firm. “That is impossible. Regardless of our situation, the young master is a Viscount and must behave like a noble. I intend to train him to be a true aristocrat; I will not betray the debt of gratitude I owe the Buda family.”

Merine glared at him. “If you treat the young master that way, I will stop cooking for you and let you starve. We are in a wasteland, and our survival is uncertain. Do you honestly think those people in the capital will ever let the young master return? You are delusional.”

Green sighed and fell silent, knowing she was right. They had been exiled to this barren land by the King and the high nobility. Had it not been for the Buda clan’s past military glory, they likely would have been executed instead.

Even though the Buda name survived, returning to the capital’s social circles was a pipe dream. The empire intended for the world to forget they ever existed.

What truly crushed Green’s spirit was the fact that the King, fearing a future resurgence, had forced the last hope of the family, Adam Buda, to consume the Water of Nothingness.

The Water of Nothingness was a legendary treasure, worth more than its weight in gold, but its purpose was singular: to nullify all power.

A single drop could turn a high-level mage, a powerful warrior, or a divine knight into a commoner. It permanently destroyed the ability to use magic or battle Qi, and there was no known antidote.

While the potion didn't harm the physical body, it stripped away all supernatural potential. For an ordinary person, it was just water; for a noble or a practitioner, it was a sentence to a life of uselessness, casting them from the heights of power into an abyss of mediocrity.

Adam Buda had been forced by royal decree to drink it. He was now incapable of practicing magic or cultivation for the rest of his life. As the sole heir tasked with restoring the Buda name to the Aksu Empire, his path was now blocked. The family’s final light had been snuffed out.

Green wouldn't have been as worried if it were just a lack of personal strength. He was an eighth-level warrior, Merine was an eighth-level water mage, and their granddaughter Meg was a sixth-level wind mage. Together, they could have rebuilt the family if they were at their old fief. That land in the south had fertile soil, a large population, and five prosperous towns. With hard work, the Buda clan could have thrived again.

But the King had stripped them of that land, sending them instead to the Black Waste in the north.

The Black Waste was known as the continent’s dead zone. It was vast, making up a third of the Aksu Empire, but it was completely sterile. Nothing grew there; even the hardiest desert plants would wither. Legend said it was once fertile until ancient divine mages cast a massive forbidden spell during a war, cursing the soil forever.

If it were only the soil, Green might have found a way through trade. However, the Black Waste was hemmed in by the abandoned dwarven iron mountains. Beyond those mountains lay the Carrion Marsh, one of the continent’s most dangerous forbidden zones. Technically, the marsh was part of their fief, making the Buda territory the largest in the empire on paper.

The only exit was through the lands of the Fasseur clan. Although Adam was engaged to a daughter of the Fasseurs, there was no chance the powerful Fasseur family would honor a marriage pact with a ruined clan in a deadland.

Fortunately, because this area was once under imperial control, an old stone castle remained in the dwarven mountains. These mountains were unaffected by the ancient spell and had some arable soil, meaning they wouldn't starve immediately.

As soon as Green learned of the exile, he liquidated the Buda assets to buy slaves, supplies, seeds, and tools. He then transported the unconscious Adam—who had collapsed after drinking the Water of Nothingness—to this remote castle.

Accompanying Green were Merine, Meg, and the twin orphans Adam’s father had raised—Blockhead and Rockhead—along with one hundred slaves. No one else remained.

Adam had remained in a coma throughout the entire journey to the Black Waste. Merine’s magic had kept him stable enough to survive the trip. She had predicted he would wake today, which is why Green had tried to rouse him. However, they had no idea that the soul residing in Adam’s body was no longer the original heir, but Zhao Hai, a shut-in from Earth.
