Sailor smirked as he swiftly avoided the incoming attack and vanished from sight. He reappeared directly above the monster's head and swung his legs downward with all his strength. His Spirit Aura took the shape of a descending hammerhead shark, full of raw power.
"Hammerhead Shark Smite!"
CRAAASH!
The devastating strike shattered the giant monster's fused head and drove it collapsing heavily into the ground. However, the creature recovered with surprising speed. It rose again and swung dozens of sharp bony blades toward him.
Sailor smiled confidently and moved his hands in fluid, serpentine patterns as if they had become sea serpents themselves.
"Sea Serpent's Venomous Fangs!"
He unleashed a barrage of coiling strikes that injected potent corrosive water venom into the monster's body. The venom dealt continuous heavy damage while reducing the creature's resistance to physical attacks. Each fist connected with even greater force, blasting massive chunks of its twisted form apart.
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
"?! "
The Hollow vomited a mouthful of thick black miasma before launching another frenzied assault. Its body grew even more monstrous and deformed in response to the trauma as it desperately tried to adapt.
"There are two more!" Sailor warned himself.
But he was far from finished. His Aura shifted once again, suddenly transforming into the image of a gigantic and intimidating jellyfish that blazed with ghostly flames. Its long tentacles rushed downward and stung the giant monster repeatedly.
"Electrocuting Jellyfish Sting!"
Without wasting any time, Sailor pressed forward and delivered a series of fast palm and heel strikes. Each blow released paralyzing electric pulses through water magic, accurately piercing the Hollow's pressure points and freeing trapped souls from its drying and collapsing body.
"WRAAAAHHHHH!"
The monster roared in fury and opened its giant jaws wide, snapping at him with terrifying force. Sailor barely avoided the attack by sidestepping gracefully. He used Ocean Step and then activated its advanced form, Soul Swimming, allowing him to glide through the empty air and emerge behind the monster once more.
"?! "
The Hollow was visibly shocked. It realized that Sailor was no ordinary undead warrior. He was a swashbuckling buccaneer who had battled hundreds of dangerous foes during his living days.
Although he had never risen to become a renowned hero or made his name widely known, all those memories and hard-fought accomplishments now formed the foundation of his newly awakened and evolved power.
In a way, the Raging Ocean Fist Style represented the culmination of those very memories. They had shaped him even as an undead, fueling his deep resentment and the "curse" that bound him. The System had consolidated this power into a single skill, its one and only gift, but it was entirely up to Sailor to evolve and refine it into what it had become today.
FLUOSH!
His Raging Sea Spirit Aura surged powerfully once more. It mixed with his energy and manifested as a gigantic king crab with massive, menacing pincers that came crashing down.
At the same time, Sailor hardened the edges of his hands using water magic and his ghostly aura. Then...
"King Crab's Cutting Scissors!"
He delivered a dual chopping strike with razor-sharp, hardened water-shell edges. The potent attack sliced cleanly through the Hollow's entire torso, bisecting the monster in a single, decisive blow.
SLAAASH!
"!!! "
The Hollow coughed up black miasmic blood and collapsed onto the ground. Its regeneration abilities immediately began trying to reconnect the two severed halves, but Sailor gave it no chance.
"Haaa... Haaa..."
He was growing exhausted after expending so much of his energy. Still, he walked steadily toward the creature and drove his fists deep into its flesh, draining its moisture with his specialized fist technique.
"GYAAAAHHH!"
The monster's lower half collapsed into dust while its bones continued moving as if still alive, launching desperate attacks at him. Sailor easily avoided the predictable strikes and finished them off with several simple yet rapid punches.
"HAAAH!"
BOOM! BOOM! BOOM! BOOM!
He then approached the upper half. The Hollow's face twisted with clear fear as it tried to crawl away from him. Sailor smiled coldly. The liberated souls danced around his aura, granting him renewed strength and easing some of his exhaustion.
"It's over."
He swung his fist forward, which transformed into a massive anchor and slammed down onto the monster's upper half. The crushing impact flattened it completely. He then drained the remaining moisture, liberated the trapped souls, and shattered both the bone structure and its core until nothing of the creature remained.
"It's dead... Haaaa... That was tougher than the rest," he sighed heavily. "So these damn things can fuse together and create new mutated forms? Ugh, where the hell have we ended up now... Where are Blank and Elayne? Ugh..."
He scratched his head in frustration and sighed again while watching the souls dance around him as if expressing gratitude. "Scram! I ain't no hero. I don't need your thanks. I used you for my own benefit."
Despite how he had treated them, the souls showed no resentment. They felt only gratitude toward the man who had destroyed the monster that had sealed them inside these corpses.
As the souls finally disappeared, Sailor felt another wave of exhaustion wash over him. He dropped to his knees and desperately reached into his pocket. He pulled out a special Spirit Nether Pill and swallowed it, recovering a portion of his Nether, Mana, and Spiritual Energy. For an undead, these were the equivalent of vitality and stamina.
"Haaa... A little better."
Sailor stood up once more. He expanded his aura to scan the surroundings thoroughly, then narrowed his eyes as he sensed his connection with Elayne. She was quite far away.
"I have to get going."
He walked forward and quickly broke into a run. Distant tremors shook the area, and he tried to avoid them, but the vibrations only grew closer and more intense.
"Damn it, something else is coming already?!"
RUMBLE!
A group of four Hollows appeared, rushing through the ruined city while carrying corpses and searching hungrily for new prey.
"Are you kidding me? I've already fought three of these things and I'm nearly spent. I can't handle this many!"
He was indeed powerful, but he lacked the immense energy reserves that Elayne, Mark, or Blank possessed. He had heard that after reaching a certain stage of Spiritual Heart Cultivation, his internal Spirit Energy would increase dramatically, but he had not achieved that level yet.
BOOOM!
He soon realized something else was happening. These Hollows were not alone. They were targeting another figure. Sailor emerged from behind a cluster of ruined buildings and looked toward the source of the commotion. He saw a skeleton engaged in fierce combat.
"Mark?!" he thought, nearly shouting the name.
However, to his disbelief, it was not Mark. This was a much larger and more robust skeleton wearing armor crafted entirely from bones rather than spirit metal. It also lacked Mark's signature red-orange flames.
"Wait, that's...!"
"Sailor?!"
"Norman?!"
Because he had made a commotion, the Hollows quickly turned their attention in his direction, completely ruining his plan to stay hidden and slip away for now.
