Cain stood completely flabbergasted as Elayne suddenly gained a golden halo above her head and four pairs of white feathered wings adorned with golden and blue eyes.
Her appearance had already been breathtaking, but now she had taken on the traits of an Angel, leaving both Cain and the Original Nightmare Curse Fragment utterly speechless.
"A Curse of God, you say? Perhaps with this Radiance born from His children, it might be possible to destroy it!"
Unable to fight back against the immense pressure and gravitational forces crushing his body, Cain screamed in horror as a sword of blinding light descended toward him.
Elayne unleashed her Swordsmanship at full power, amplified by her newfound strength and angelic abilities.
The two powerful techniques fused into one, slicing through Cain’s entire being, severing his Spirit Core and destroying the parasitic core Avenger had placed inside him.
Cain crawled forward with every ounce of strength he could muster. The power of the Curse placed upon him after he killed his brother Abel was immensely strong.
Yet the Celestial Light began to vanquish that curse, steadily devouring it.
The light warped and twisted, fusing with powers of darkness, nature, and life until it became a swirling chaos.
And then Elayne revealed that she was no longer the same.
Her eyes turned completely red, and her hatred toward Berserker burned with overwhelming intensity.
"If there’s one thing I agreed with Tartarus on... it was his decision to devour you."
"So I will do exactly that. Give me your power, Berserker!"
"Only part-time."
Before Berserker, the true maws of Tartarus opened—an endless void of pure darkness from which he would never escape.
Elayne unleashed her second Divine Treasure, a powerful artifact capable of devouring other Treasures and even the powers of Heroic Spirits themselves.
Berserker left behind something that quickly flew away, slipping past Elayne’s maws entirely. It reached someone else just before he was swallowed by the darkness, sealed, bound, and absorbed into Tartarus.
"..."
The Original Nightmare Curse watched in silence and disbelief, horror flickering in its many red eyes. Never in its existence had it witnessed anything so terrifying. It now stood before another Outer Being like itself—Tartarus.
"Y-You..."
As it turned out, Tartarus’s true class was... Foreigner.
To the Curse, Elayne radiated the power of a truly alien entity, someone who did not belong to the Mortal Plane but to the vast Chaos Realm within the Astral Plane.
Elayne gazed in its direction, considering devouring it as well, but she felt too full after consuming Berserker. The immense power she had gained was still being digested.
Still, she could feel it—she had obtained his Mythical Treasures. One was a large knife made of ancient stone; the other, a curse binding her to a certain task. Though it did not affect her the same way it had Cain, it seemed to greatly boost her dark powers instead.
"I suppose I can make use of this later..." she thought. "My Maw has a cooldown. I cannot eat this one too. Should I just kill him?"
"...?"
Elayne looked at the creature in disbelief. Despite the vast difference in power, the being still towered fifty meters tall.
She had expected it to be more intimidating.
"I have committed a grave mistake! I was lured here by that fairy witch against my will! A-And...! I can offer you my power—I am merely a small fragment of a greater being! I promise you even more power and great rewards if you spare my life...! B-But please don’t eat me!"
"..."
Elayne raised an eyebrow, then walked toward the creature. Her footsteps echoed loudly, making the giant tremble in fear.
"You’re the fragment of a great being? What does that mean?"
"I-I can explain everything... anything you want...! I will tell you all of it, but please don’t kill me!"
"...You are from the Nightmare Plane, right? Or the Dream Realm? What is the true name of this place?"
"It’s both the Dream and the Nightmare Plane! I am... a fragment of a great evil. The Almighty Primordial Original Nightmare Curse. I am the first Nightmare ever born in this world!"
"What? Really?"
"I... well, I am only a small fragment, one of many... you could say I am more like his child..."
"Hmm..."
"Eek! Please believe me! I-If you don’t kill me, I can help you fight Nightmares, devour Nightmare Cores, and even... E-Even help you form your own Nightmare Heart without turning into a Nightmare! I can help you! I am very useful!"
"Hmmm..."
"A-And I can offer you my power! I am strong! Of course not as strong as you, but I am definitely a powerful being!"
"Hmmmm..."
"A-And I can offer you Nightmare Weapons, Dream Weapons, all sorts of recipes, and... R-Right! How about these Cultivation Formulas?! I know dozens of them to help you cultivate a Dream Heart or a Nightmare Heart—or both, like that white-haired girl with the undead army! And... uuhhh..."
"Okay, that’s enough."
"Eh?"
"You’re indeed useful, and I cannot eat any more right now—my stomach is full. So you’re going to become my pet instead. How about it?" Elayne showed a kind, motherly smile.
"P-Pet?! T-That’s so... humiliating! C-Can’t I become at least your servant or something?!"
"Pet it is. Or... well, I cannot eat you right now, but I’m fairly sure I can kill you."
"Eek! Pet it is! I am your pet from now on!!!"
Elayne felt a twinge of disappointment at how pathetically the being acted, but it only proved it was intelligent enough to humble itself for survival.
"Alright then. I shall now bind you to my Abyssal Soul. You will become forever bound and sealed within my Darkness, like the Ancient Titans and Great Monsters of old."
"...What?"
Elayne’s entire body cracked open to reveal a massive void maw leading into endless darkness. The Fragment of the Original Nightmare Curse could not fight back as black chains pierced its body, wrapped around it, and dragged it into the abyss.
