Big Shot's Reincarnation Sweeps the World Chapter 1124 - Hard Not To Be Happy

Previously on Big Shot's Reincarnation Sweeps the World...
Zhou Feiyang's fate hung in the balance as Sheng Yang, undeterred by the chaos around her, pressed forward in search of Yi Juncheng. Despite her injuries and the peril surrounding them, she was motivated by the need to be with him, even as a collapsing structure threatened her life. Their reunion was charged with emotion, as she found solace in his presence, while he urged her not to act recklessly. Meanwhile, Yi Juncheng defied medical advice and rushed to be by Sheng Yang's side during her vulnerability, revealing a deeper bond that transcended their perilous circumstances.

1124 Finding Joy Is Easy

Due to the exhaustion that comes with pregnancy, Sheng Yang was resting deeply.

Yi Juncheng found it impossible to stay away from her side, yet he lived in constant fear of disturbing her slumber. In the ward, he communicated only through silent gestures, a sight that made the formidable powerhouses of One Man’s Rule act as timid as insects.

If a single soul dared to create enough noise to wake the Madam, the Hall Master would surely administer a poison to strike them mute…

The subordinates lived in a state of daily trembling. Though the urge to flee their posts was strong, they lacked the courage to actually desert.

While common rumors suggested that women became temperamental and demanding during pregnancy, Sheng Yang remained an exception. If anything, her logical nature had only sharpened.

Conversely, it was Yi Juncheng who seemed unable to control his own impulses…

“Yangyang, is there really nothing you need? For instance, wouldn't you like me to go out and fetch you some ice cream in the middle of the night?

“If morning sickness is bothering you, you are more than welcome to hit me or place the blame on my shoulders…”

He gazed at her with an intense, hopeful expectation.

Sheng Yang felt completely bewildered. Were there truly people in this world who made such bizarre requests?

True to his nature, Yi Juncheng followed a path unlike anyone else.

Was he perhaps suffering from some form of Stockholm syndrome? Did he actually enjoy being mistreated?

“No, and the urge to vomit hasn't really hit me yet.” Aside from some minor nausea at the very beginning, the children seemed to be quite considerate of her, sparing her from any major discomfort.

While Yi Juncheng felt a sense of relief for her sake, a small part of him felt let down. He felt somewhat useless.

Furthermore… the physical burden of pregnancy on Yangyang was already significant. He desperately wished to shoulder some of that weight, yet he found himself with nothing to do.

Sheng Yang blinked her eyes. “How about this? I have a question for you.”

“Oh?” Yi Juncheng’s interest was instantly piqued.

“Would you prefer them to be boys or girls?”

Yi Juncheng rubbed his chin thoughtfully. “Well, if I had to choose, I hope for two sons.”

“So you don’t care for daughters?” Sheng Yang had heard many stories of men who became completely devoted slaves to their daughters.

“It isn't that I wouldn't love them. I will cherish any child that is ours. It’s just that…” He moved closer to the bed, bringing his striking features near her. The usual sharp aggression in his expression vanished, replaced by the look of a loyal, obedient dog. “I want two sons so they can stand guard and protect you.”

“I see,” Sheng Yang murmured. She looked down quietly, a small smile playing on her lips.

In a moment like this, it was truly hard not to feel happy.

This man’s entire world revolved around her; she was the sole occupant of his heart. Even when contemplating the future of their children, his primary concern was her well-being.

He had once been a ruthless figure who could take a life without a second thought.

Taking her hands in his, Yi Juncheng began to trace them gently. His devotion to Sheng Yang was boundless. He lifted her hands and pressed a kiss to them. “Yangyang, you are my redemption. Without you, my life would have been a solitary, hollow existence. How tedious would that have been? I am grateful that fate showed me mercy and led you to me.”

Sheng Yang gazed up at him and suddenly spoke in a soft voice, “I think I’d like to eat some grapes…”

“Right away!” Yi Juncheng bolted upright. The legendary figure who dominated the world had suddenly rediscovered his purpose as he rushed out the door.

A short while later… Sheng Yang realized that her request might have been a bit impulsive.

The ward was now overflowing with grapes, stacked nearly to the ceiling. Every imaginable variety surrounded her, leaving her completely stunned.

Yi Juncheng sat amidst the mountain of fruit, his fingers busy peeling them. His fair hands looked strikingly elegant against the translucent green of the grapes…

A small mound of perfectly peeled fruit had already accumulated beside him.

“Yangyang, come here.” Yi Juncheng looked toward her with an innocent grin. It seemed as though he had stripped away his layers of power and prestige, returning to his simplest self.

In this moment, he was no longer a man driven by vengeance or cold indifference…
