“Sheng Yang, you b*tch, I’ll kill… I’ll kill you…” Zhou Feiyang shrieked at the top of her lungs, though she lacked the strength to even stand. Her shrill cries were like needles piercing the eardrums. “Even if I become a malicious ghost, I’ll never let you go…”
The sensation of being eaten away by corrosion was agonizing. It was a dual torment of the mind and body to watch her own limbs vanish inch by inch.
Sheng Yang remained indifferent, her gaze fixed entirely on the rising black smoke. Tong Liang moved to charge forward, but Sheng Yang intercepted him. “Wait.”
“Madam, the Hall Master isn’t joking around this time. He’s serious,” Tong Liang choked out, tears streaming down his face.
“Do you have a computer?” Sheng Yang questioned abruptly.
She was searching for a computer at a time like this? The members of the Hall of One Man’s Rule exchanged bewildered glances.
Wiping his eyes, Tong Liang didn't argue. “I’ll go find one right now.”
The massive explosion had drawn a crowd from across Lanca. Tong Liang snatched a microcomputer from a royal soldier and sprinted back. “Hey!” the soldier shouted behind him.
Sheng Yang recalled Yi Juncheng mentioning that the base was equipped with black boxes. These devices were indestructible, even in the face of a violent blast. If she could just establish a connection with those boxes… Her palms began to sweat with anticipation.
The subordinates of the Hall of One Man’s Rule couldn't fathom her actions. To them, the Madam appeared far too composed—so calm she seemed almost cold-blooded. It was a terrifying level of detachment. Even with her husband’s life on the line, she was focused entirely on tapping away at a virtual keyboard...
‘Found it.’
Sheng Yang’s mind cleared. By utilizing remote technology to sync with the black boxes, she would be able to pinpoint his exact location.
In the background, Zhou Feiyang’s vitriol continued. She cursed Sheng Yang and Yi Juncheng incessantly. Sheng Yang handed a pill to Tong Liang. “Force-feed her this.”
“Understood.” Once Tong Liang administered the pill, Zhou Feiyang’s screaming ceased, yet her agony seemed to intensify twofold. With only her head and neck remaining, she thrashed with all her remaining strength, the veins in her throat bulging violently.
By now, Sheng Yang had looped through the search parameters multiple times without finding a trace of Yi Juncheng. The area was nothing but dust and debris. Most would have abandoned hope, but she refused to accept it. Her eyes grew increasingly bloodshot as her fingers flew across the interface. Suddenly, she spotted a blind spot within the search grid—a tiny, obscured area. It felt as though she shared a silent understanding with him. She stood up instantly and pointed to the display. “Go to this location. Follow the exact path I’m showing you. Do not deviate from it under any circumstances.”
The men of One Man’s Rule were stunned. Only then did they realize that the Madam wasn't heartless or unable to cry. She simply believed that tears were useless. Crying solved nothing; only decisive action could save the Hall Master.
“We’ll provide backup!” the royal army announced, joining the effort.
Sheng Yang issued a final warning: “Stick strictly to the route, or you’ll trigger another explosion.”
“We understand, Madam. Don't worry,” Tong Liang replied, but he stopped short when he noticed a trail of blood seeping from the corner of Sheng Yang’s mouth.
“Madam…”
“I’m fine.”
Still unsettled, Tong Liang assigned someone to watch over her. After all, the Madam was currently pregnant.
As soon as the team disappeared from view, Sheng Yang suddenly coughed up a mouthful of blood, her balance wavering.
Who could possibly call her cold-hearted?
She was consumed by anxiety, yet she had forced herself to stay functional to find a way to rescue Yi Juncheng.
“Hahaha, I’ll reincarnate and… I won’t let you off. I’ll never let you off…” Zhou Feiyang wheezed. She had descended into total madness. Witnessing the scene before her, she felt a twisted sense of satisfaction.
