Beast Taming Patrol Chapter 9: Chapter 3 Xue Henqing (Seeking Investment and Followers)_2
Previously on Beast Taming Patrol...
The most significant advantage gained from this miraculous experience, should world travel become impossible in the future, was the advancement of my Beast Taming Space to the second level. While elevating a first-level Beast Taming Space to the second isn't inherently difficult, it typically requires at least several months of dedicated training under normal circumstances.
A Beast Tamer possessing a first-level Beast Taming Space is restricted to contracting a single pet beast, and the space can only support a growth stage up to the juvenile level. Transitioning to the second level doesn't increase the number of pet beasts Lin Su can contract, but it does raise the maximum growth threshold to the elite stage.
Consequently, Lin Su is now qualified to form a contract with elite stage pet beasts directly.
The problem is that elite stage pet beasts are significantly more expensive than those in the juvenile stage. Since he could barely afford juvenile beasts of an elite species, purchasing an actual elite stage beast was out of the question, rendering the immediate benefits of his second-level Beast Taming Space somewhat redundant.
It was like a chicken rib—tasteless to eat, yet a pity to discard.
However, the entire dynamic would shift if Lin Su could continue his journeys between these two worlds.
By analyzing both instances of his travel, Lin Su reached the simple conclusion that his physical body did not move; rather, his consciousness and Beast Taming Space were being transported.
Given that the Beast Taming Space resides within the realm of the brain, its ability to migrate alongside his consciousness was logical.
Based on this theory, Lin Su developed a hypothesis regarding the sudden level-up of his Beast Taming Space.
The original Lin Su of the God Martial World possessed a Beast Taming Space, just as he did on Blue Star. When he traveled and occupied the body of the God Martial Lin Su, his own Beast Taming Space came with him. While the other soul perished, its Beast Taming Space remained. The merging of these two spaces likely triggered the instant upgrade to the second level.
This raised a crucial question: could the pet beasts housed within the Beast Taming Space travel with him as well?
If such a feat were possible, and if his interdimensional travel continued, Lin Su could contract high-grade species in the God Martial World—where they aren't restricted by the Alien Beast Ban—and bring them back to Blue Star. This would not only bypass the difficulty of sourcing beasts but also secure him a far more potent initial partner.
Should this possibility manifest as reality, the power of world travel would serve as an incredible Golden Finger for Lin Su.
Occupied by these reflections, the initial pet beast distribution he had once anticipated suddenly lost its luster.
This preoccupation was the reason he had been so distracted during the journey.
Zhao Qingsong's brow furrowed upon hearing Lin Su’s response.
He certainly didn't look like someone who was "fine."
Noticing Lin Su's reluctance to share more, Zhao Qingsong didn't press for details. Instead, he gave Lin Su’s shoulder a supportive pat. "You understand how vital the first pet beast is for a Beast Tamer's career. Even if the Green Feathered Eagle is out of reach, make sure your choice is a deliberate one."
"I will," Lin Su answered, his voice softening at Zhao Qingsong’s genuine kindness. "I appreciate the advice, Teacher."
Even though his discovery of world travel meant his criteria for a beast had changed, he was still touched by his teacher's sincere concern.
"Go on then, get inside," Zhao Qingsong said with a wave of his hand before turning to walk toward the park entrance.
Lin Su didn't linger. He increased his pace and quickly entered the grounds of the breeding garden.
This area functioned less like a farm and more like a specialized zoo. It was divided into various zones tailored to the natural habitats of different pet beasts, providing the proper terrain for them to grow and breed.
Because these pet beasts were socialized to be friendly toward humans, there was no risk of them attacking the Beast Tamers. Fences were non-existent, allowing prospective tamers to wander freely and interact with various cubs to find a compatible partner.
Lin Su sat down on a trail-side bench, not rushing to browse. Instead, he slipped back into his thoughts.
If he truly had a path back to the other world, the elite species in this garden wouldn't be his top priority. He could potentially skip this allocation entirely and seek out high-grade cubs on the God Martial Continent.
The risk, however, was his uncertainty about traveling again. If he forfeited this chance and couldn't return to the other world, he would be forced to buy a cub on the open market at a much higher price.
His current funds were insufficient for a market purchase, and he couldn't generate that kind of money quickly. Such a failure would delay his first contract and might even cost him his spot at the Beast Tamer University.
The potential rewards were massive, but the risks were equally daunting.
Was there a middle ground?
Lin Su knit his brows, lost in contemplation.
"Meow~(^ω^)ฅ"
A soft, high-pitched cry broke his concentration after a short while.
Turning toward the sound, a look of genuine surprise and pleasure crossed his face.
A charming little kitten stood there, diminutive in size with plush, snow-white fur. The coat around its neck was particularly thick, creating the appearance of a fluffy white scarf. Its eyes were a striking icy blue, reminiscent of deep glaciers, and a small ice flower mark decorated its forehead. Its slender tail was held high in a graceful curl.

It was a Snow Trace Light, a high-level elite race of the ice element.
This particular species was native to the Yanhuang Alliance, having first been discovered in the snowy reaches of the old Tibetan region. Following its discovery, human Beast Tamers began large-scale breeding, making them a common sight across the Yanhuang Alliance and the neighboring Holy Alliance.
Lin Su was delighted by the creature's sheer beauty. Even with his reserved nature, he felt an impulse to pick it up and feel its soft fur.
His surprise stemmed from the fact that this Snow Trace Light was behaving quite abnormally for its kind.
Generally, members of the Snow Trace Light species are known for being timid, aloof, and easily startled. While individuals vary, the baseline personality remains consistent. Yet, this kitten showed no fear, wobbling directly toward Lin Su after they locked eyes.
Snow Trace Light: Human cuddle(ฅ´ω`)ฅ
As it walked, delicate snowflake patterns formed beneath its paws. This was the species' innate Talent Skill: Snow Trace, which granted them enhanced grace. At higher levels of mastery, they could move across snow without leaving a single mark—the origin of their name.
"You little thing..." Lin Su murmured, extending his palm. He watched as the kitten clumsily scrambled into his hand, then lifted it to gently stroke its back.
The Snow Trace Light leaned into his touch with a look of pure bliss, its beautiful eyes fixed on Lin Su.
The Snow Trace ability left cool, pleasant snowflake patterns on his skin. The sensation of the silky fur against his palm was incredibly soothing, deepening Lin Su's affection for the little beast.
Then, he let out a quiet sigh.
It was such a shame that this creature wasn't a viable candidate for a contract.
The Snow Trace Light wasn't inherently weak—it was a high-level elite race, positioned just below the leading races. It was aesthetically stunning and possessed a powerful core offensive skill, Frost Storm.
However, this adorable species was one of the few that lacked any known evolutionary path.
While many elite races start out weak, humanity has mapped out stable routes to evolve them into leading races, with some even capable of reaching the monarch species level, transcending their lowly origins.
But for the Snow Trace Light, no such evolution had ever been discovered; it was destined to remain a high-level elite race forever.
Even with heavy investment, it could only push past its limits to reach the leader class, while the monarch class remained an impossible dream.
Because of this, although many tamers adored them, few would use a contract slot on one. Most people simply kept them as pets without a formal contract...
Wait...
Keep it as a pet, without a contract?
Lin Su’s hand stopped mid-stroke.
He realized he might have just found the perfect compromise.
