Beast Taming Patrol Chapter 7: Chapter 2 Different Destinies (Seeking Investment and Followers)_3
Previously on Beast Taming Patrol...
Given the circumstances, the older generation of Beast Tamers were the only ones capable of maintaining the front lines temporarily. Meanwhile, others collaborated to seek out entirely different avenues to power. A segment of the population suggested discarding the path of the Beast Tamer altogether; after enduring immense trials, they eventually uncovered the path of martial arts.
Martial arts offer a different destiny for humanity under the influence of Ghost Energy Stones. In this discipline, humans harden their physical forms by hunting Alien Beasts and utilizing their harvested remains. The rise of martial arts allowed powerful humans to slay Alien Beasts through their own physical prowess, rather than relying on commanding beasts in the heat of battle.
Furthermore, this trajectory is completely incompatible with the way of the Beast Tamer.
The second stage of martial arts is known as the Meridian Opening Realm. In this stage, a practitioner must unlock the Meridians within their frame to circulate a martial energy called "Yuan Force." Unlocking these Meridians specifically requires siphoning energy from one's own Beast Taming Space.
As more Meridians are successfully opened, the Beast Taming Space suffers irreversible damage and weakens until it vanishes entirely. Consequently, it becomes impossible for such an individual to remain a Beast Tamer.
Once a Beast Taming Space evolves to the second order, its stability increases to a point where its energy can no longer be harvested to open Meridians. Because of this, Beast Tamers who dabble in martial arts are restricted to the first realm, the Body Refining Realm.
While the new generation of Beast Tamers saw their influence wane, martial arts experienced a rapid ascent. After several martial artists emerged who could fight Immortal Rank Alien Beasts in single combat, the power dynamic shifted. Humanity began to dominate the Alien Beasts on a massive scale, eventually securing a total triumph over them.
Pressed by the strength of human martial artists, the Immortal Rank Alien Beasts were forced to scrap the Alien Beast Ban. With the ban lifted, the heritage of the Beast Tamers began to flourish once more, as conditions finally allowed for the study of various evolution and Cultivation methods. Under the protection of martial artists, they evolved over a millennium into the system that exists today.
In the current Divine Martial World, human Cultivation is split between Beast Tamers and martial artists. Since martial artists of equivalent rank can easily overwhelm Beast Tamers, the latter has gradually shifted into a supporting role.
For instance, Doctor Ye functions as a Beast Tamer by contracting various types of healing pets to provide medical care.
The primary reason for this shift is the inherent physical vulnerability of Beast Tamers. When engaging a martial artist, the opponent often ignores the pet's strikes entirely, launching a direct assault on the Beast Tamer and defeating them in an instant.
Beast Tamers on Blue Star face this same vulnerability, but the issue was resolved decades ago by Qin Yunzhang, the Yanhuang Alliance's lead scientist, who invented Guardian Beast Co-operation. However, the Divine Martial World lacks this specific advancement.
Guardian Beast Co-operation is a technique only taught at Beast Tamer Universities, a fact that caused Lin Su to feel a twinge of regret.
If he could manage to recreate Guardian Beast Co-operation in this place, it would undoubtedly become his Golden Finger in this new world.
According to Azura, his predecessor had stumbled into the backyard pond while intoxicated and was nearly breathless when he was pulled out. Although expensive medicines had preserved his life, his physical condition remained extremely frail.
Lin Su hadn't been awake long before a wave of exhaustion washed over him; he found that lying down provided some much-needed relief.
With his body in this debilitated state, attempting to contract a beast immediately was out of the question; he would have to recover for a while longer.
After consuming the restorative tonic, Lin Su felt a soothing warmth spread through his limbs, as if he were submerged in a hot spring. This was soon followed by a heavy drowsiness that clouded his mind.
He drifted back into sleep.
"Ding Ling Ling~"
The habitual ringing of an alarm clock echoed. Lin Su reached out instinctively to silence the communication device that functioned as an alarm by his bedside.
Wait, a communication device?
His hand stopped abruptly in mid-air, and he bolted his eyes open.
Didn't I... transmigrate?
