Beast Taming Patrol Chapter 5: Chapter 2 Different Destinies (Seeking Investment and Followers)

Previously on Beast Taming Patrol...
In an era dominated by Beast Tamers, humans contract with Guardian Beasts from hidden dimensions to combat alien threats. Lin Su, an orphan preparing for his initial Guardian Beast allocation, faces the challenge of securing a powerful beast to attend a prestigious university. Limitations imposed by an "Alien Beast Ban" restrict his choices, and his financial situation prevents him from acquiring a high-tier Guardian Beast. As he contemplates his predicament, Lin Su suddenly awakens to a mysterious voice proclaiming him as "young master."

"Young Master, is it true that your memories have vanished?"

Propped up against the headboard, Lin Su gave a resigned nod to the middle-aged man who stood before him, brow furrowed in concern.

Upon waking, he had initially dismissed the situation as a cruel joke. However, when a middle-aged couple—claiming to be his mother and father—burst into the room with frantic excitement to check on him, Lin Su realized the gravity of his circumstances.

He had undergone a transmigration.

To make matters more difficult, he possessed no memories of the body's previous owner, yet he was immediately confronted by his closest relatives. With no way to fake his way through their questions, he was forced to bluntly declare that he suffered from amnesia.

The man questioning him was Doctor Ye, a family physician summoned by his parents the moment they heard of his condition.

After a brief silence, Doctor Ye turned his attention toward Lin Su’s parents. "Master, Madam, I have never seen the Young Master in such a state. However, amnesia is a trauma of the spirit and might be linked to the Beast Taming Space. I possess a pet beast capable of spiritual soothing; shall we see if it can provide any relief?"

Lin Su remained quiet, his interest piqued by the physician's words.

Beast Taming Space? Pet beasts?

He recognized those terms instantly.

Did this new world utilize powers comparable to a Beast Tamer?

With a slight frown, Lin Su’s father nodded. "Proceed with the attempt."

The decision was made, and Lin Su offered no objection. He was eager to witness the nature of the pet beasts in this realm.

Doctor Ye looked at him and cautioned, "Young Master Lin, please remain calm when I summon my pet beast."

As he spoke, glowing lines began to weave together at his feet, forming intricate, sky-blue geometric patterns across the floor.

Sky blue... a fifth-tier Beast Taming Space?

Could this man be a master-level Beast Tamer?

Lin Su’s thoughts raced, and a moment later, his eyes narrowed slightly in surprise.

Within the flash of light, a small, humanoid alien beast materialized. Standing about a meter tall, its body was clear and crystalline. It possessed eyes and a nose but lacked a mouth. Atop its head sat a wide-brimmed witch’s hat, featuring a large, swaying bell at its peak.

This creature was...

A Whispering Bell, a mid-ranking sovereign species!

Because the Beast Taming Space of a minor is unstable and contracted beasts can be volatile, students in high school only study theoretical knowledge of alien beasts. It is only upon reaching eighteen during their senior year that apprentice Beast Tamers are permitted by the school to form contracts and become official Beast Tamers.

Despite not having a contract of his own yet, Lin Su was well-versed in the various species of alien beasts.

Shock filled his heart as he stared at the creature. The Whispering Bell was not an evolution of a lesser creature; it was born into the mid-ranking sovereign tier. On Blue Star, such creatures were strictly regulated under the Alien Beast Ban, making a contract with one impossible.

Yet, in this world, Beast Tamers seemed to have no such restrictions. Even more baffling was the fact that these alien beasts were identical to the ones from his past life.

The lack of restrictions could be chalked up to different world laws, but how could the species be exactly the same?

A fragment of information he had read just before his transmigration surfaced in his mind.

"Researcher Qin claimed that if a Ghost Energy Stone appeared in a world with different biology than Blue Star, identical alien beast populations would likely emerge..."

Was that the reason?

If true, it meant every species from Blue Star existed here, available for contracting without any bans.

This realization caused a storm of emotion to flicker across Lin Su's face. His parents, watching their son intently, noticed the change in his expression and grew pensive.

Once the Whispering Bell was fully summoned, Doctor Ye gave a command: "Silent Bell."

The Whispering Bell replied: "Ding-a-ling (≧≦)ノ"

The bell on its hat vibrated, sending visible ripples through the air. As the waves passed through the room, a sense of peace washed over everyone, smoothing away stress and anxiety.

While his old memories did not return, the Silent Bell succeeded in calming Lin Su’s frantic mind.

To survive here, he needed to rely on these parents. He had to ensure they never discovered that he was a transmigrator who had replaced their son rather than just an amnesiac. He would have to navigate the rest one step at a time.

"Xiao Su, how do you feel? Has anything come back to you?" his mother asked, her voice trembling with anxiety.

The name "Lin Su" remained the same in this world, which helped him feel slightly more grounded.

"Mother, I am sorry. I still cannot recall anything from the past," Lin Su said, shaking his head and doing his best to look dejected over his lost memories.

"If it doesn't come back now, it doesn't matter. We can tell you stories of your past; eventually, you will remember," his father replied, offering a smile that was strained but clearly meant to be comforting.

Observing their sincere devotion, Lin Su felt a surge of genuine warmth. Though they were not his biological parents, their care provided a sense of family that he had lacked since he was a child.
