Beast Taming Patrol Chapter 1541: 430: Crisis of the Immortal Phoenix Sect (2-in-1, Finale Countdown: 20)
Previously on Beast Taming Patrol...
Currently, the territory of Blue Star has expanded to a scale that likely surpasses the combined landmass of the Endless Sea and the four great domains of Divine Martial.
Lin Su gazed at the celestial bodies shimmering above Blue Star, feeling a profound sense of reverence. The sensation was strikingly similar to the celestial canopy he had witnessed within the Star Sky Secret Realm.
The most significant change, however, lay in Blue Star’s energy levels.
Lin Su could palpably detect the staggering disparity in the concentration of supernatural energy compared to the period before his entry into the Divine Court Secret Realm.
At this moment, even the most mundane regions of Blue Star possessed energy as potent as a former Profound-tier Secret Realm. In areas of higher concentration, the density was even comparable to the Earth-tier.
Such an abundance of energy is sufficient to catalyze the growth of every exotic beast and Beast Tamer across the globe.
Beyond the mere energy, the rule force had also grown increasingly tangible and thick. In this transformed environment, the task of comprehending rules has become far more accessible than in the past.
“I missed a golden opportunity,” Lin Su lamented with a quiet sigh. He couldn't help but wonder what he might have achieved if such an environment had existed when his journey as a Beast Tamer first began.
“To be honest, the suddenness of this transformation nearly caused the Alliance to lose control of the situation,” Shen Yunshan remarked with a faint smile. “The world is different now, and the Alliance must implement new regulations to match. We are heading into a very hectic period.”
Lin Su gave a silent nod of acknowledgement.
“Putting that aside, what about you?” Qin Yunzhang, standing nearby, was unable to suppress his curiosity. He looked at Lin Su and then at the six little ones who had successfully ascended to the immortal level. “Old Shen mentioned you are on the verge of breaking through to the ninth tier. It nearly gave me a heart attack.”
“Isn't your cultivation speed a bit too extreme?”
“It was just a chance encounter,” Lin Su replied, offering a thin smile.
“Your ‘chance encounter’... sounds about as sincere as an author promising to ‘stay tuned’,” Qin Yunzhang remarked, rolling his eyes before continuing with interest. “That reminds me, once you reach the legendary level, you should have gained an extra contract slot, right?”
“Even standard legendary Beast Tamers only have six slots, but you should be able to hold seven,” he noted, clicking his tongue with a hint of jealousy. “Must be nice.”
“Uh...”
As Qin Yunzhang raised the topic, the expressions on the faces of Lin Su and the six little ones behind him turned somewhat peculiar.
“Grandpa Qin, I’m afraid I won’t be able to contract a seventh pet beast,” Lin Su explained, spreading his hands in a helpless gesture.
Upon their successful breakthrough to the legendary level, Lin Su and his companions had stumbled upon a major complication.
While he did indeed possess a sixth contract slot after reaching the ninth tier, the position was already occupied.
A mysterious force had taken up residence in that slot, rendering it completely unusable. Even when Lin Su and the six little ones combined their full power, they were unable to breach that mysterious energy.
It felt as though it were an inseparable part of Lin Su’s very soul. Ultimately, he could only speculate that this was perhaps a side effect of his unique ability to travel between two worlds.
Luckily, because Youyou and Yingying shared a single contract position, his combat strength wasn't lacking compared to a standard Beast Tamer.
Shen Yunshan and Qin Yunzhang exchanged looks of confusion. It was clear that Lin Su’s predicament was entirely unprecedented to them.
“I’ll find a solution eventually. Perhaps the right opportunity to unlock that slot will present itself one day,” Lin Su said with a smile. “Grandpa Qin, President Shen, I intend to find a quiet place to enter closed-door cultivation for a while.”
“Understood,” Shen Yunshan nodded. “Shall I arrange a specialized facility for your retreat?”
“There’s no need,” Lin Su laughed mischievously. “With Blue Star expanding so rapidly, there are countless unoccupied territories. I’ll just find a spot with a high energy density and settle there.”
After bidding them farewell, Lin Su’s figure vanished instantly from the area.
“That boy,” Qin Yunzhang said, shaking his head. “There are times I really want to grab him and demand he tell me all his secrets just to satisfy my curiosity.”
“He’d have to be willing to talk first,” Shen Yunshan chuckled. “But honestly, with Lin Su reaching the legendary level, the weight on my shoulders has been lightened considerably.”
As the sole legendary-level Beast Tamer among humanity previously, Shen Yunshan had been forced to handle all negotiations with immortal beasts alone—a grueling task.
“It won't be long now,” Qin Yunzhang said, patting Shen Yunshan on the back. “With the massive changes to Blue Star, powerful Beast Tamers will soon be appearing everywhere like bamboo shoots after a spring rain.”
“I am confident that the count of legendary Beast Tamers will hit double digits very soon.”
“I hope you’re right,” Shen Yunshan replied with a shrug. “Well, it’s time to get back to work.”
“We have a mountain of tasks ahead of us!”
...
In the blink of an eye, Lin Su and the six little ones materialized above a lush forest.
Due to the expansion of Blue Star, many of the newly created landmasses had become primitive, wild zones. Using Youyou’s wood-element abilities, a charming little wooden cabin was quickly constructed for the group.
“We’ll stay here for now,” Lin Su said, smiling at his six companions who had now achieved immortality. “By tradition, reaching the immortal level means you should take on a formal title.”
“Have any of you thought about what you want to be called now that you’ve broken through?”
“I want to be known as the Cosmos Lord!”
Qiuqiu’s eyes glowed with excitement as it raised a tiny paw in anticipation.
Though it currently maintained its small stature, if it were to manifest its true form according to the rules of immortality, it would span over ten thousand meters, much like any other immortal being.
The only physical change to Qiuqiu after its breakthrough was the disappearance of the three ice crystals behind its head, replaced by several cryptic runes etched between the horns on its forehead.
