Beast Taming Patrol Chapter 1489: 421: Team Tournament Concludes (Two-in-One, Countdown to Finale: 30)

Previously on Beast Taming Patrol...
Yingying, gaining an advantage, faced a sudden, terrifying power from Youyou. This power, the "Smoke and Cloud Weaving Light" from the "Xia Zhi Jing" secret technique, created a devastating beam that melted Yingying's attack and injured it. Both fighters were depleted but recovered by Tata, with Yingying vowing to battle Youyou again.

Through their mental connection, Lin Su sensed that both Youyou and Yingying had achieved significant breakthroughs during the previous skirmish.

This realization underscored the true objective of this internal tournament.

Given the caliber of Lin Su’s current team, no external peers of the same level could match them; only by clashing with their own teammates could they find a genuine challenge to their limits.

By competing against one another, they could identify personal flaws, recognize each other's strengths, and grow together.

The five preceding encounters, as well as the upcoming final showdown between Qiuqiu and Gui, were all designed around this fundamental principle.

“Are you two prepared?” Lin Su asked, his eyes shifting toward Qiuqiu and Gui.

The two small creatures exchanged a look and gave a synchronized nod. In a flash, they darted onto the field, positioning themselves on opposite ends to begin their confrontation.

Without needing further prompting from Lin Su, they immediately declared the specific skills they had agreed to restrict for this match.

“Meow! (ᓀωᓂ)” (Seven Sins of the Owl, Evil Mockery, Witch Doll, and Devouring of Nihility!)

“Caw! (。ϟ。)” (Banishment Sword, Eternal Guard, Time Prophecy, and Time Gap Judgment!)

Once the bans were established, they stared each other down from across the distance, neither showing any sign of surprise at the other's choices.

Qiuqiu’s eyes, as icy blue as frozen snowflakes, radiated a terrifying chill. A brilliant glow erupted from the vertical pupil on its forehead, where the gears of time rotated like a clock's face, and the Time’s Heart pulsed faintly, appearing as though it might detonate at any moment.

Opposite the cat, Gui used its claws to hoist the Hell World, which seemed to be brewing a monstrous energy within. Despite its expressionless mask, the rapid flickering of runes across the surface betrayed the turmoil Gui felt inside.

This marked the third time these two little ones had faced off.

Invisible waves of time and space collided violently. In the vacuum between Qiuqiu and Gui, the very fabric of reality seemed to riot, warping and distorting in a way that defied stabilization.

“Start the match!”

At Lin Su’s command, the two combatants struck simultaneously.

The Time’s Heart was the first to act, launching from Qiuqiu’s vertical pupil and throbbing with the rhythm of a biological heart.

Countless temporal fragments bridged the past, the present, and the future, weaving the life paths of innumerable souls into a vast, shimmering web that circled the Time’s Heart.

Simultaneously, the Three-Era’s Mirror behind Qiuqiu ignited with light.

Accompanied by the faint murmur of rushing water from the void, a magnificent, boundless river was summoned by the power of the Time system, flowing down to rest at Qiuqiu’s feet.

Manifestations of the past and future emerged from their temporal imprints, merging with the present version of Qiuqiu. Shrouded in an overwhelming and terrifying aura, the cat charged toward Gui!

The opening move was an all-out assault, leaving absolutely no room for hesitation!

Gui, however, did not simply wait to be hit. As Qiuqiu’s aura reached its peak, Gui thrust the Hell World upward. The sphere expanded rapidly in the air, growing into a massive realm thousands of meters wide that dominated the sky.

One layer... two layers... three layers... it continued until nine layers were visible!

Nine distinct Hell Worlds were stacked vertically, with the scale of each higher level slightly narrower than the one below.

Through Gui’s masterful manipulation of space, these Hell Worlds were no longer spheres but had been reshaped into a towering, nine-layered pagoda!

Suddenly, a dark, shimmering gemstone ascended from the massive tower.

Though only the size of a palm, the gem seemed to devour all ambient light the moment it appeared, forcing every eye to look upon it.

Before the spectators' eyes, the jewel settled perfectly into the apex of the nine-layered Hell World tower.

At that instant, Gui’s mask radiated a blinding light, and a massive surge of power pierced the sky, bypassing spatial barriers to flow directly into the tower floating in the void.

Big brother, I hope this surprise I've crafted for you is to your liking!

“Boom!”

A deafening roar shook the world, echoing out in every direction.

The sound did more than vibrate through the air; it seemed to strike the very soul, evoking a sense of profound awe and heavy pressure.

Upon closer inspection, observers could see that every level of the tower was inhabited by dark, ghostly undead guards.

These were the native denizens of Hell, creatures that usually lacked any significant fighting strength.

Yet, under the bizarre empowerment of the Hell World, the strength of these natives had been unnaturally boosted to the terrifying Sovereign level!

It was well known that, unlike the ninety-nine Judgment Red Shadows, these Hell natives numbered in the thousands!

Now, these previously unremarkable entities possessed formidable strength. If Gui were to employ the Soul Herding Technique...

Realizing the grim possibilities, Qiuqiu—already in its most powerful form—became increasingly serious.

The little brother was quite cunning to have kept such a secret weapon hidden away.

In their past encounters, Gui had never used the Hell natives, always implying they weren't ready for actual combat.

Looking at the current display, it was clear Gui had discovered a way to grant the Hell natives temporary, massive power.

However...

A sharp, cold light glinted in Qiuqiu’s eyes.

If its little brother believed it was the only one with a hidden trump card, it was sadly mistaken.
