While Cheng Su and Qi Xiaoqi were home, Qi Xiaoqi felt like they were being watched. Fei Yin went to investigate but found nothing amiss. Cheng Su suspected Chiang Qing was behind the unsettling feeling, but Fei Yin's search yielded no immediate evidence.

Knowing that Chiang Qing might be lurking nearby, Cheng Su didn’t sleep well all night, appearing somewhat mentally distracted.

Qi Xiaoqi teased her, "Why are you losing sleep over such a small matter? You’re even getting dark circles under your eyes, impressive."

Cheng Su didn’t laugh but said, "What do you know? That woman is not a good person, a bit crazy. Who knows what desperate acts she’ll resort to? We don’t even know where she’s hiding or when she’ll appear, so I feel uneasy."

"Take things as they come, stay calm. According to you, she’s already lost, has no allies, and can only dream without anyone to help," Qi Xiaoqi replied.

Cheng Su opened her mouth, glanced at Fei Yin coming out of the bathroom, and stopped talking. Qi Xiaoqi also adjusted his facial expression, adopting an innocent child’s demeanor to avoid being seen as strange.

Fei Yin sat down without speaking, and Mother Qi’s door opened. She came out, saw that Cheng Su and the others were sitting in the living room, hesitated, and instinctively looked at the clock on the wall, saying, "You’re all up this early?"

"Yes, and Xiao Qi’s Grandma too," Fei Yin replied with a smile.

Cheng Su stood up and said, "I’ll go make breakfast."

She headed to the kitchen, and soon the sound of dishes breaking on the floor came from within, prompting Mother Qi to rush over.

Qi Xiaoqi shook his head tsk-tsk, "Women will be women."

Fei Yin laughed, poking his temple, "Do you even know the difference between women and men?"

Qi Xiaoqi said, "I am a man." Fearing Fei Yin would persist, he added, "She’s just worried, look at those dark circles under her eyes."

"And Xiao Qi is worried about his mom too, judging by those little furrowed brows," Fei Yin said softly, feeling compassion.

Qi Xiaoqi sighed, "What can I do, she’s my mom, and Old Qi isn’t here."

This remark made Fei Yin laugh again, unable to resist ruffling his thick, black hair.

"Little grown-up." She glanced at the kitchen, feeling worried, right?

Chiang Qing...

Fei Yin searched her mind, recalling a beautiful woman from her memory, a remarkably talented Military doctor with a good family and upbringing, her father even being an officer. But sadly...

Such a woman, driven mad by one man, by so-called love and hatred, doomed to despair?

How tragic.

Is this the result of love blossoming into something scary?

Fei Yin looked at Qi Xiaoqi, a child with pursed lips and furrowed brows, prompting sympathy.

This kid, so young yet so mature, worrying about his mom.

No matter what, adult grudges should not affect a child. Chiang Qing better not set her sights here, Fei Yin won’t allow it.

Because she likes Qi Xiaoqi.

After breakfast, Cheng Su and Fei Yin spoke on the balcony, discussing what to do.

"I thought about it just now. The Shen Family is also looking for Chiang Qing. I’ll inform Ning Ge to relay this to the Shen Family. Also, I need you to stick close by and keep a tight watch on Xiao Qi," Cheng Su said.

"What about you?" Fei Yin asked her.

"I’ll be fine, Xiao Qi is most important. He’s only two; he’s my life," Cheng Su said, pursing her lips while looking at her, "please."

Fei Yin nodded.

In the living room, Mother Qi glanced outside occasionally, muttering, "What are those two talking about? Sneaking around, are they bad-mouthing me?"

Seeing Qi Xiaoqi looking at her, she touched her nose awkwardly and walked away.
