Cheng Su confronted her mother-in-law, Mother Qi, about giving her son, Qi Xiaoqi, a so-called Divine Talisman Water. Despite Mother Qi's insistence that it was for health and that her grandson refused to drink it, Cheng Su explained the potential dangers of such superstitious remedies. Father Qi intervened, assuring Cheng Su that they would be more careful in the future.

After dinner, Cheng Su sorted out the things she brought back from the Capital and went to bed early. She hadn’t spoken with Xiao Qi since she left for a few days.

Before he fell asleep, Cheng Su sat cross-legged facing him, holding his shoulders and said, "You really didn’t drink the Talisman Water that your grandma gave you, right? You really didn’t, right?"

"I’m not stupid." Qi Xiaoqi looked at him and said.

Cheng Su, hearing this, pinched her son’s cheek and said, "Well done, my son is really smart."

"Ouch." Qi Xiaoqi swatted away her hand. Why does she always pinch people’s cheeks? Doesn’t it hurt?

Cheng Su giggled and leaned over to kiss him, "A kiss from mom will stop the pain, come here."

Qi Xiaoqi quickly dodged, reluctantly admitting that his mom could be whimsically playful at times.

"What if I did drink it?" He avoided her mouth and asked.

"What else? Of course go to the hospital and let the doctor check you out, otherwise if something goes wrong, you’ll suffer!" Cheng Su said, "So you were smart not to drink it to avoid trouble."

"Even if I drink it, I won’t die!" Qi Xiaoqi flipped through the picture book.

"You won’t die, then why don’t you drink it?" Cheng Su teased with a smile.

Qi Xiaoqi said nothing, thinking he wasn’t stupid.

Seeing this, Cheng Su put her fist to her mouth and coughed lightly, "Anyway, from now on, you should do this. Things like Talisman Water must never be consumed. Also, don’t eat strange things, especially anything given by strangers."

Thinking of Chiang Qing’s words, her expression turned serious and solemn, "Remember, don’t put anything strangers give you into your mouth, and don’t run around randomly. If someone sweet-talks you, saying Mom is here or there, don’t go with them!"

Qi Xiaoqi looked at her, furrowing his brows.

"Did you hear me?"

Qi Xiaoqi asked, "Did something happen?" It had been a long time; he hadn’t seen her this serious and anxious.

Cheng Su was taken aback.

Qi Xiaoqi rarely asked questions this mature—had he stopped pretending?

"Are you wearing that?" Cheng Su answered irrelevantly.

Qi Xiaoqi said, "I’m asking you what happened."

Cheng Su thought for a moment; Qi Taiguo wasn’t here, and she had no one to talk to, so she took it as a chance to vent and sighed, "Son, it seems our lives are all under scrutiny by others."

Qi Xiaoqi didn’t quite understand, but stopped reading his picture book to listen quietly to Cheng Su.

"Are you saying someone is following us?" Qi Xiaoqi asked—wasn’t that stalking?

Cheng Su nodded, "Exactly." She cursed angrily, "It’s all because of those rotten Tao Hua your dad attracted, the trouble-making rotten-rooted Tao Hua."

Turning to see Qi Xiaoqi staring steadily at her, she couldn’t help but feel embarrassed, saying, "I mean, that woman is crazy, a psycho. Who knows what she could do? So we have to be careful."

Qi Xiaoqi didn’t say anything for a long time, his small lips pursed, and said, "I’ve seen them."

"Hmm?" Cheng Su didn’t quite react.

"Someone was following us." Qi Xiaoqi looked at her and said.

Cheng Su was stunned, instinctively asked, "You saw them? When?"

Qi Xiaoqi thought for a moment, his little face wrinkling into a ball, "I don’t remember." He was too young, his memory not very good yet, but if Cheng Su said so, then there really was someone following them.

Cheng Su pursed her lips, frowning deeply. If that was the case, then had they been investigated?

"Alright, it’s time to sleep!" Cheng Su smiled a bit, pushed him down, and tucked him under the blanket.
