At the dining table, Zhou Jun and Ning Ge were chatting happily. Seeing Cheng Su return with an unusual expression, their conversation halted. Zhou Jun gave Ning Ge a knowing look and motioned toward Cheng Su.
Cheng Su was unaware, pursing her lips with a face full of displeasure. Seeing Chiang Tian reminded her of past unpleasantness.
"What happened? You went to the bathroom and came back looking so upset." Ning Ge asked.
"Yeah, sister-in-law, did someone without eyes bump into you? Tell us, in this whole capital, there’s nothing Ning Ge and I can’t handle. We’ll stand up for you." Zhou Jun said with the air of a king.
Cheng Su let out a sound, touched her face, and realized she had brought her emotions back with her, then smiled and said, "It’s nothing, just someone bumped into me carelessly outside, and I felt a bit uncomfortable."
Zhou Jun didn’t know Cheng Su well, but Ning Ge understood her somewhat. If it was simply being bumped into, she wouldn’t care, much less look so upset — she wasn’t that petty. He had seen before, when dining out, a waiter accidentally spilled soup on her, and she wasn’t angry. So why get mad over being bumped?
So, she was lying.
"What, did you run into someone outside?" Ning Ge eyed her.
"Really, no..." Seeing his obviously disbelieving look, Cheng Su relented and said, "Alright, I just ran into Chiang Tian outside!"
"Chiang Tian?"
Ning Ge slightly straightened his posture and asked, "Was he rude to you?"
"Damn, this fallen prince dares to show up on our turf and dares to bother our people? I’ll go for him!" Zhou Jun stood up.
"No, he didn’t do anything to me." Cheng Su didn’t want to cause trouble and quickly stopped him, "Don’t go, why waste breath on someone like that?"
Her words made Zhou Jun feel even more indignant. Cheng Su was clearly feeling wronged and avoiding confrontation — doesn’t that sound right?
A scumbag whose world has collapsed dares to show off in front of them?
Zhou Jun walked out, and Cheng Su said to Ning Ge, "Quick, stop him!"
"It’s fine, Zhou Jun knows his limits." Ning Ge responded nonchalantly.
Cheng Su frowned.
"Don’t worry, Chiang Tian is just a toothless tiger, he can’t beat Zhou Jun." Ning Ge didn’t regard Chiang Tian at all.
Seeing him like this, Cheng Su knew it was useless to say more, so she dropped the topic and asked, "Didn’t he escape abroad? Why is he here again?"
"A person like him isn’t one to settle down, he came back long ago. Now it seems like he’s back in business!" Ning Ge sneered, playing with the teacup in his slender fingers.
Cheng Su was surprised, "Even after the Chiang Family fell, he can still do business?"
Ning Ge looked at her with a half-smile and said, "Don’t forget, he has a sister who’s willing to sacrifice for him."
Cheng Su was taken aback.
"Chiang Qing’s with that casino tycoon, very rich. Let’s not speak prematurely, but this business is definitely backed by that ’brother-in-law of his." Ning Ge said sardonically.
Hearing this made Cheng Su feel very disgusted, wondering how much Chiang Qing had to fall to this extent?
Thinking of her as a charming woman, having to submit under several older men over and over, didn’t she find it disgusting?
Just imagining that scene made Cheng Su feel particularly sick, so she grabbed her tea and took a large sip.
Being able to do what others cannot, perhaps that’s Chiang Qing’s skill after all.
Just as she thought about it, Zhou Jun returned, cursing, "That little bastard, doesn’t even see where he is, dares to act wild in front of me."
