Ning Ge watched for a moment, then tilted his head in confusion, stepping on the gas pedal again, muttering to himself, "That’s strange."
"What is it?" Cheng Su followed his gaze but didn’t see anything.
"Nothing, maybe my eyes played tricks on me." Ning Ge looked straight ahead.
Cheng Su felt a stir in her heart, glancing at him, she asked, "Did you see someone familiar? Which beauty was it? To make our Fourth Young Master so excited."
Ning Ge clicked his tongue, glanced at her, and said, "Since when did you learn to talk so flippantly?"
"If someone made you, Fourth Young Master Ning, nearly cause a small car accident, of course I have to ask. So tell me, who was it? Do I know them?" Cheng Su asked again.
"No one really, I just thought it was that heartless woman, Song Jiaying!"
As expected, Cheng Su said, "Oh, listen to your sour and resentful tone, are you still hung up on her?"
Ning Ge glared at her, "Who is hung up on her? I’m just indignant. She, she slept with me and then vanished, I got a raw deal, okay?"
Cheng Su pursed her lips and laughed, muttering, "Who’s really at a loss is hard to say!" Then she added, "Isn’t your sister close with her? Even she can’t find her?"
Ning Ge shook his head, "My sister has no news of her either." After a pause, he continued, "Maybe she’s married somewhere by now, let’s not talk about her!"
"What if she hasn’t gotten married? What would you do then?" Cheng Su asked curiously, and also probingly.
Ning Ge didn’t respond.
"You are just difficult; if you truly like her, then of course you should try hard to win her over." Cheng Su shrugged her shoulders and said, "Happiness is something you have to strive for yourself."
"Can’t even find her, what’s there to pursue? Besides, should I throw myself at her cold shoulder? What woman can I, Fourth Young Master Ning, not have?" Ning Ge boasted arrogantly.
"You know, it might be better not to speak so boldly because one day, you might actually find yourself shamelessly throwing yourself at her cold shoulder!" Cheng Su taunted.
Ning Ge looked over, "You’re acting strange today, why does it sound like there’s a hidden meaning in what you’re saying?"
Well, he’s a perceptive person, but no matter how perceptive he is, he probably can’t guess what Cheng Su just witnessed and that he has a son now, right?
Cheng Su felt a strong urge to spill the explosive news, but she couldn’t break her promise.
She coughed and after a pause said, "Speaking of, something recently really surprised me."
"What is it?"
"It’s nothing much, but a friend’s friend of mine is quite daring, having a child out of wedlock. Now she’s raising her son on her own without telling the child’s father." Cheng Su said, "Don’t you think this woman has a big heart? Being a mom is really extraordinary."
Ning Ge scoffed lightly and said, "That’s not extraordinary, it’s foolish."
Cheng Su choked a bit, coughed, and scolded, "Watch your words!"
"Isn’t it though? Why raise the kid alone when the child has a father? Why not tell him? Both caused the trouble; they should both take responsibility. Raising the child alone, is life too boring so she finds things to do?"
Cheng Su took a deep breath and said, "Well, she thinks she’s capable enough to raise her child alone, that her son is hers alone anyway!"
"That’s selfish. A child, you know, should grow up in a complete family to develop a good character. Especially boys, raised without a father, what do they become? Spoiled!" Ning Ge glanced at her, saying, "I’m not looking down on you women, but boys shouldn’t be raised only by women, they’ll be spoiled rotten!"
Cheng Su hummed, turned her head away, and made up her mind never to tell him, let him brag. Besides, her words with hidden meaning could serve as half a warning; he can’t blame her in the future.
