Back To The 80s: President's Doted Wife Chapter 1639 - 1640: No Teeth, Biting Is Pointless

Instead of gleaming gold or precious silver, a completely new key materialized before my eyes. What could this possibly be?
"The construction on the house east of here is finished. We received the key yesterday, and it belongs to our family. Your husband secured it for you; aren't you delighted?" Qi Taiguo settled onto a seat, a smile gracing his features as he regarded her with anticipation, seemingly seeking her approbation.
Delighted? How could I possibly not be?
Cheng Su accepted the key with evident joy, exclaiming, "I had assumed we would have to wait until the month's end for it. It’s already in our possession?"
"The end of the month is merely a few days away, and the New Year will be here in about a month," Qi Taiguo explained with a chuckle. "Everyone believes it would be wonderful to move into the new home for the New Year, so they've distributed the keys early to allow people ample time to select furniture and bedding. The entire structure is complete, the doors are fitted, and the keys have been handed out. Everyone can begin making their preparations and move in."
Cheng Su nodded in understanding. With a new residence, naturally, everyone desires to commence the New Year within its walls. A good house, a good setting, a good year, wouldn't that be the case? Thus, she inquired, "Did you get a chance to see it? Was the construction executed well?"
"I haven't had the chance to see it yet. I was thinking we could all wait until you and Xiao Qi returned, and then we could visit it as a family," Qi Taiguo replied, gently holding his son's small hand. "It's our first home, so naturally, the entire family should experience it together. It wouldn't be as enjoyable if I went alone."
Overjoyed, Cheng Su leaned forward impulsively and planted a loud kiss on his cheek. The sudden action startled Qi Xiaoqi, who was occupied with his meal, causing him to pause.
He fixed his gaze intently on his parents.
"What are you staring at, you little scamp? Eat your food! This isn't suitable for children," Cheng Su playfully chided him.
Oh, so you acknowledge it's unsuitable for young eyes? Then perhaps you should be more mindful of the time and place!
Qi Xiaoqi turned his head and resumed feeding, seemingly as a form of retaliation. He latched on with considerable force, eliciting a yelp of pain from Cheng Su as she instinctively pulled back.
"He bit me," Cheng Su complained to Qi Taiguo.
Qi Taiguo chuckled, remarking, "It's alright, he doesn't have any teeth yet. It can't hurt much, and biting is quite ineffective!"
Both Cheng Su and Qi Xiaoqi shot glares, Cheng Su out of irritation and Qi Xiaoqi with a sense of dejection.
After exchanging a few more pointed looks, Cheng Su's focus shifted back to the house, and she asked, "Is there electricity over there? Shall we go take a look right now?"
Qi Taiguo glanced outside; it was completely dark. "It's dark now, so it wouldn't be very convenient to go. Let's go tomorrow instead. When it's daylight, the lighting will be better, and we'll be able to see everything clearly."
Cheng Su considered his words and concurred. It certainly made sense, so there was no need to press the matter. Tomorrow it would be, since the house was already theirs regardless.
Qi Taiguo observed his son's small, puckered lips against the area that rightfully belonged only to him. He licked his own lips, swallowed, and then asked his wife, "I acquired the house for you; how will you repay your husband?"
Cheng Su met his gaze. "How do you wish for me to repay you?"
Qi Taiguo let out a few mischievous chuckles before replying, "What do you think?"
A blush crept onto Cheng Su's face as she playfully spat at him, "You're not being serious."
Her coy yet teasing response only served to further ignite Qi Taiguo's desire. Shamelessly, he wrapped an arm around her waist and, with a smile, added, "If I were too serious, then you'd truly have something to cry about!"
Cheng Su murmured a few soft complaints, the couple engaged in their playful banter, oblivious to their surroundings.
Qi Xiaoqi struggled to nurse, feeling a distinct lack of satisfaction. Couldn't these parents pay more attention to the circumstances? He's a child, after all!
Alas, they paid him no mind whatsoever, continuing their affectionate exchange as if he weren't even present, unfazed by the 'outsiders' in their midst.
Behold, the very agony of being a baby!
