Cheng Su and her family arrive in Guangcheng and are surprised by the warm weather, a stark contrast to the cold and snow in Qing City. They learn about the difference between the North's dry cold and the South's damp cold. Cheng Yaozu picks them up, and they discuss the upcoming wedding of Ying Xiaoya.

Cheng Yaozu guided a few individuals back to the residence that the patriarch had bestowed upon Cheng Su. Upon entering, Cheng Su observed that the entire house was immaculately clean and bright, showing barely any signs of dust. Even the bedding had been meticulously arranged, which brought a warmth to her heart.

This meticulous upkeep was a testament to the Cheng family's care for her. Otherwise, a house that was seldom inhabited would have surely accumulated layers of dust.

"Thank you for helping me tidy up," Cheng Su expressed with a smile towards Cheng Yaozu.

"Is that really how you see it? You entrusted me with the key from the beginning, and I arranged for cleaners, so I barely had to lift a finger myself," Cheng Yaozu responded with a shrug.

Mother Qi and the others, overhearing this nearby, were somewhat taken aback. From their conversation, it seemed this house was actually Cheng Su's property.

"Why don't you all take a moment to rest? I need to return to the company briefly to pick up Xiao Ya," Cheng Yaozu suggested, noticing the weary expressions of the group after their journey. He then thoughtfully addressed the older couple, "Uncle and Aunt, you must be exhausted from the train ride as well. Please, wash up and relax for a while. I'll return in the evening to take you out for dinner. The old man specifically instructed me to ensure you are treated exceptionally well."

"Oh, oh, certainly."

The moment Cheng Yaozu departed, Mother Cheng turned to Cheng Su with evident curiosity, "Susu, is this house truly yours? How come I never heard you mention purchasing a property?"

Cheng Su offered an explanation, "It wasn't my purchase. The patriarch gifted it to me as a token of recognition when we established a godparent relationship." She deliberately omitted any mention of the land.

It was hard to believe. Simply by forming a godparent bond, she received a house as a gift. What incredible luck! It was as if she had stumbled upon unimaginable fortune.

"A gift, you say. My goodness, such a spacious and elegant house, I can only imagine its value," Mother Cheng remarked, now fully grasping that the property belonged to Cheng Su. She began opening doors to explore, marveling at the spotless condition of the interior. What fortunate deeds must this young lady have performed in a past life to garner such prosperity.

While Mother Cheng and her companions were delighted, the in-laws were even more pleased. Although it was their daughter-in-law's house, she was, after all, a member of the Qi family. Such affluence would inevitably prove beneficial to the future generations of the Qi family.

"Your Third Uncle seems to have acquired a small house as well. I wonder where it might be located," Father Cheng inquired jovially.

"His place is a bit distant and rather modest in size, but at least it's his own. When he has more financial means in the future, he can upgrade to a larger one," Cheng Su replied with a gentle smile.

It had only been a year, yet Third Uncle Cheng had managed to secure a house in this vicinity, even if it was small, pre-owned, and acquired through a bank loan. Nevertheless, it was an impressive feat.

Seeing her maternal family's circumstances steadily improving naturally brought a sense of happiness to Cheng Su. Now, her sole hope was that Cheng Zhi, under Third Uncle's guidance, would also achieve success.

Everyone was quite tired. The house boasted three rooms, which was ample space for the group. Cheng Su encouraged them to rest, and she herself intended to take a nap with Qi Xiaoqi.

Each person retreated to their room and lay down. Mother Cheng, feeling a mixture of excitement and contentment, confided in her husband, "When she was born, as a girl, I did have some reservations. And as she grew, with that spirited personality, how could I not worry? But now, look at her. Whose fortune surpasses hers?"

"She has earned all of this through her own efforts. If not for her own capabilities and connections, how could things be like this? Our family isn't as affluent as it once was; we have to rely on ourselves," Father Cheng reasoned.

"That's indeed true. To be frank, now when I interact with her in-laws, there's no need for excessive flattery or subservience. Our girl is doing exceptionally well, she has financial stability, and she has support. Even if she and the son-in-law were to separate, I wouldn't be concerned," Mother Cheng declared. "It's not like before, when I constantly felt we were reaching up to their family, always feeling inferior. Now, if her mother-in-law utters a single inappropriate word, I have the confidence to retort!"

"Our elder daughter is now settled. Our next focus is on Cheng Zhi. If he can achieve even half of what his sister has accomplished, I can finally have peace of mind."

Father Cheng held the same sentiment. When their children thrive, it provides parents with a sense of confidence and dignity.
