Daniel reveals to Lioran that his downfall was orchestrated as part of a larger plan, ultimately benefiting Daniel and paving the way for Serys's rise and Andreas's succession. Following Lioran's public disgrace and imprisonment for murder, the Magic Tower is thrown into chaos and disbelief. Despite the turmoil, the tower leader unexpectedly announces that Lioran's succession ceremony will proceed as scheduled, with a new successor candidate chosen.

This news created a second wave of shock in the tower, and discussions began again, this time more intense than before.

"Who is the new candidate?"

"How could they have chosen so quickly?"

"Perhaps there was already a second option."

Daniel’s name was the first to be raised in many circles.

"He’s the only one who fully comprehended the tablet!"

"The thousand spells also chose him."

"If anyone is worthy, it’s him."

But objections immediately arose.

"He barely counts as a member of the tower."

"He hasn’t even been here for a month!"

"How could an outsider become the tower’s heir?"

Then another name was raised.

Serys.

She had received special authority in recent days, had played a major role in reopening the murder case, and was in direct communication with the tower leader and the Supreme Council.

And most importantly, she was one of the few mages of the new generation who had both the power and the credibility to enter the succession competition.

If there could be a perfect candidate, it was definitely her.

However, no official announcement revealed the new heir’s name. This silence only increased curiosity and tension.

While the entire tower was caught up in speculation and rumors, Daniel and Serys walked through one of the high gardens of the eastern ring.

This section of the tower was built at an altitude where clouds moved lower than its stone paths.

Silver trees lined both sides of the path, and flowers with faint blue light glowed among the grass.

In the distance, the city could be seen beneath a layer of mist. Smaller towers appeared and disappeared among the clouds like shadows.

The air was calm, too calm. A complete contrast to the chaos flowing within the tower.

Serys walked beside Daniel in silence for a while. She still couldn’t fully believe all that had happened.

Lioran had been imprisoned. The murder case had been solved. The founder had backed down. The succession status had been taken from Lioran.

And now... she herself was going to become the tower’s future heir.

Every time she repeated this sentence in her mind, it still seemed unreal.

Finally, she turned her gaze back to Daniel.

He walked calmly. Neither excitement nor pride could be seen on his face.

As if changing the heir of the continent’s greatest magic tower, in less than three weeks, was just another one of his daily tasks.

Serys stared at him for a few moments. Her gaze was no longer like before. There was gratitude in it, but also something like caution, perhaps even fear.

For the first time, she truly understood how dangerous the person walking beside her was.

Not just because of his power, but because he could destroy people who had thousands of supporters, powerful families, and even a founder behind them, without starting a direct war.

And all of this had happened for just one reason: Lioran had made the mistake of angering this monster.

She swallowed her saliva with difficulty... At that moment, she made a vow to herself that as long as she lived, she must never become enemies with this monster under any circumstances!

She would do whatever she could to keep this man as a friend and ally beside her and the magic tower.

"You really changed the tower’s heir in less than three weeks." Then Serys said quietly.

Daniel glanced at her briefly.

"I just kept my promise."

She was silent for a few moments, then stopped walking.

Daniel also stopped. She looked directly into Daniel’s eyes.

"Thank you." Her voice was completely serious.

"I know this wasn’t just a simple favor."

"You involved yourself in a case that could have turned the entire tower against you."

"You confronted the Supreme Council, negotiated with the founder, and for me, you removed someone everyone thought was invincible."

She took a quiet breath.

"Until the last day of my life, I will do my best to repay your help."

Daniel just smiled. On the surface, he accepted Serys’s words calmly. But inside, a cold, deep sense of satisfaction formed.

This was exactly what he wanted. The future heir of the magic tower now considered herself deeply indebted to him.

If Serys eventually reached the position of leadership, the alliance between the tower and the Eternity religion would no longer be just a political agreement.

It would become a personal and deep relationship, a relationship that could be more valuable than any treaty in the future.

For a power to become the strongest, it doesn’t just need powerful members. It needs loyal allies with shared interests, and more importantly, powerful ones.

The Central Magic Tower didn’t even need an introduction. They were the authority for all mages of the Celestial Domain, and soon they were going to become the Eternity religion’s greatest ally.

"You don’t have to think about it for the rest of your life." Daniel said.

Serys smiled faintly.

"For you, it might have been just a daily task. But for me, it wasn’t."

They started walking again. A few minutes passed in silence.

"Will you stay for the ceremony?" She thought of something and then asked.

"No." Daniel answered without hesitation.

"No?" Serys’s smile faded slightly.

"I have to go."

Daniel looked at the distant city.

"I have other things to do."

Serys was silent for a moment. A brief disappointment appeared on her face, but she quickly hid it.

She had probably expected Daniel to be present on the most important day of her life, but she didn’t want to voice this wish.

This man had already helped her more than enough. Asking for more would just be insulting.

"I understand."

Daniel noticed the change in her tone, but didn’t continue the topic.

"Still, congratulations. This position is rightfully yours." He just said.

Serys turned her gaze back to him, and a big smile spread across her face.

"Thank you."

"But don’t think everything is over." A few steps later, Daniel continued.

Serys raised an eyebrow, but before she could ask, he continued:

"Lioran has fallen, but his supporters are still here."

"Some professors invested years in him, and some tied their own futures to his succession."

"They won’t give up easily."

"I know." Serys nodded.

"From now on, you need to be more careful. Before this, you were just Lioran’s rival. Now you’ve taken his place. Anyone who lost from his fall might hold you responsible."

Serys looked at the path ahead.

"I won’t let him make the same mistakes I did."

"I hope so." Daniel smiled.

At that moment, the sound of hurried footsteps was heard from behind them.

One of the tower’s guards rushed into the garden.

His breathing was slightly heavy, and it was clear he had covered a long distance quickly.

He stopped before Daniel and Serys and bowed deeply.

"An urgent message has arrived from the main gate, and I was told to inform you."

"What happened?" Serys asked immediately. What could have happened that a guard had been sent with such urgency?

The guard paused for a moment, his gaze shifting between the two.

"A delegation from the Lionheart family has arrived at the tower."

Serys’s expression became serious. The guard continued:

"They’ve come to take Lioran."

For a few seconds, only the sound of the wind among the silver branches of the garden could be heard.

Serys unconsciously looked at Daniel, but Daniel was neither surprised nor worried. Only a very faint smile settled on his lips.

"They arrived sooner than I thought." His gaze shifted toward the distant towers, and he said quietly.
