Awakening The Only SSS-Rank Class! Now Even Dragons Obey Me Chapter 715: Sister’s New Goal
Previously on Awakening The Only SSS-Rank Class! Now Even Dragons Obey Me...
"You both performed remarkably well, far exceeding my initial expectations," Daniel remarked, his tone leveled and serious.
The two girls were momentarily taken aback. They had girded themselves for a litany of critiques: pointing out their current vulnerabilities, debating methods for improvement, and the like.
Instead, this was the feedback they received.
"You heard me correctly. Your performance was impressive. It is evident that you poured everything you had into this," Daniel said, letting out a soft chuckle as he noticed their bewilderment.
Was he truly such a subpar instructor? In his memories, he had always treated them with gentleness and care. Yet, apparently, that hadn't been sufficient.
Perhaps it was his own error for having spoiled these two girls too extensively.
"Was our work truly impressive? Does that mean our notable weaknesses are entirely gone?" Alice queried, still struggling to believe his words.
"It was excellent work. There are no glaring flaws left to address. It is clear that you trained with immense dedication throughout this period and endured numerous grueling battles."
"Admittedly, there is always room to refine your skills. While you are excellent right now, being excellent is distinct from being perfect. Your proficiency will grow alongside your experience, and there are certain lessons that can only be mastered on the true battlefield," Daniel added.
"Ah... so all of that struggle wasn't in vain after all," Tiana sighed in relief. A grin spread across her face, and moments later, she collapsed flat onto the floor.
"Even so... we couldn't even force you to take a single step. Is it ever going to be possible to reach that point?" Alice asked, her expression filled with resolve.
"Do you wish to hear the unvarnished truth?"
The girls shared a look and gave a firm nod. They wanted the reality of the situation, regardless of how difficult it might be to face.
"The likelihood is close to zero," Daniel stated indifferently. He was not being dishonest.
The rate at which these girls were advancing was astonishing. In truth, they were already significantly more potent than he was during his own Rank E days.
But to one day match his strength? Or even reach a level where they could force him to move a single step in combat? He could not envision that scenario.
Even as their growth accelerated, his own development was terrifying—surpassing anything ever witnessed in this world, and perhaps even in all of existence.
By the time these girls attained Rank S, he might already be a Supreme God.
Of course, these were merely probabilities. There would always be variables that no one could predict, not even Daniel himself.
A silence fell over the girls after hearing his verdict. They had anticipated as much, but hearing it spoken aloud still felt surreal. Their expressions shifted noticeably.
Were they disappointed? Dejected? Incredulous? Heartbroken?
No... their faces were radiated a fierce confidence. No matter how impossible it seemed, they now possessed a clear objective.
"It doesn't matter how long it takes, one day I will definitely force you to take a step in a fight!" Alice declared, jumping to her feet with newfound intensity.
"Me as well! If that requires me to become the most formidable mage in the world, then so be it! No... if I have to, I will become the strongest mage across both worlds just to force you to take that single step!" Tiana also stood up, her eyes blazing with ambition.
Daniel watched them. He had feared that his honesty would shatter their resolve, but instead of crushing them, he had provided them with a concrete mission.
But forcing him to take one step? Shouldn't they aim slightly higher? Perhaps they should aim to defeat him one day, for example?
Nevertheless, witnessing their enthusiasm and drive, he kept his thoughts to himself. Who could say? Perhaps one day these two girls would surprise him far beyond what he could dream.
"Before I forget," he murmured, retrieving a book from his inventory.
He tossed the volume to the pair. Alice caught it and studied the cover.
[Indestructible Star Body]
"What is this?" Tiana inquired.
"It is the foundational version of the Burning Star Body technique. You should be prepared to utilize it soon. I relied on this technique myself to bridge the power gap between Rank C and Rank B."
The eyes of both girls lit up. They gazed at the manual with mounting excitement. Their brother had mentioned this method previously, though they had let it slip their minds.
With this technique, they would be able to refine their bodies once more and experience another massive surge in power to overcome their next cultivation bottleneck.
"I made several modifications to suit my own needs when I practiced it. If you wish, feel free to do the same," Daniel added suddenly.
He had, in fact, adapted the Indestructible Star Body into his own Indestructible Death Body.
His comment was intended as guidance: they were encouraged to customize and adapt their techniques to better align with their unique affinities and the laws they intended to follow on their path.
"What do you mean?" However, they seemed confused by his instruction.
"You will discover the answer on your own." He had no intention of elaborating further. Besides, they lacked the capacity to use the technique at their current level anyway.
He provided it early because there was a possibility he might be away for a long time, and by then, they might have already attained Rank C.
Shortly after, he exited the training chamber, the girls trailing behind him.
"Brother, how about you treat us to fried chicken tonight as a victory reward?" Alice asked, her eyes pleading.
"That is not a bad suggestion," Daniel muttered to himself. In truth, he was craving the dish as well.
"What is your opinion?" He glanced at Tiana.
"Of course! I am completely in!" Tiana agreed happily.
Who could refuse fried chicken? They were, at the very least, quite obsessed with it.
Daniel laughed warmly and, as they desired, ordered more fried chicken for dinner than he would typically purchase on an ordinary day.
Perhaps there was a possibility that he might not have the luxury of enjoying such simple, delicious food for a long time.
The meal did not take long to arrive. They gathered on the couch, eating while watching the screen, staying up until midnight playing various card games.
When the clock struck twelve, each retreated to their own room to sleep.
The following morning, as the sunlight struck his features, Daniel slowly stirred. He yawned, stretched his limbs, and checked his handheld device.
Today was the day—the day of the Goblin Guild successor ceremony. The day he would finally confront an old acquaintance. The day he would conclude a long-standing grudge and enmity.
Rising from bed, he showered, then donned the only black suit in his possession, ensuring he was prepared.
He then headed to the living room, where his family was partaking in breakfast.
"Is there a special occasion?" Tiana asked, her face flushing crimson the instant she caught sight of him.
Daniel was naturally handsome, but now that he was properly dressed, it was difficult to look away from him.
"Oh my! What is going on, brother? Don't tell me you have a date? Who is she? Which unfortunate woman became your girlfriend?" Alice teased, though her voice held a note of shock.
A split second later, Liana swatted the back of her head.
"Ouch, Mom! What was that for? That hurt!!"
"You are an Awakened. A mundane strike from me couldn't possibly injure you. Regardless, cease teasing your sibling!" Liana commanded sternly.
Alice muttered a soft complaint and fell silent.
Daniel laughed, taking his seat beside them to share in the breakfast.
"So, where are you headed today, son?"
"To a ceremony," Daniel replied, keeping his explanation brief, yet his sisters immediately understood the implication.
"The Goblin Guild successor ceremony?" Tiana asked curiously, seeking confirmation.
Daniel nodded. Upon completing his meal, he stood and checked his phone once more. He noticed a notification from Varnos.
<I am waiting outside your residence>
The guild leader had arrived to escort him personally.
