Despite the soundproofing, faint sounds of spellcasting were heard, raising their suspicion. When Caius emerged alone, the Militants confronted him, demanding to know the Captain's whereabouts. Caius presented a recording of Captain Zaila, who declared she would not pursue the Vampire Party for damages beyond Northern-Star, deeming their actions outside the Garrison's jurisdiction. She stated that if the fine was paid, they were free to go, providing proof of her sound mind and body. The recording ended with Zaila instructing Caius to join her, implying a private encounter. Caius then revealed Zaila was merely asleep in her quarters, having been thoroughly vetted and unharmed.
