As Aizen in Naruto and Joined a Chat Group Chapter 438: Annihilation

"What?" Rod’s expression displayed utter disbelief as he gazed at the shield before him.
"It actually blocked the dragon’s breath?" Claire’s eyes widened in shock, her heart profoundly shaken.
Within their Edwin Continent, dragon’s breath wasn’t considered part of the magic system. However, nearly all professionals understood that a dragon’s breath possessed a power comparable to a ninth-tier spell.
Defending against a ninth-tier spell would necessitate protective measures of an equivalent or even greater magnitude.
But how could ninth-tier defenses exist in this world, a world that, according to intelligence reports, was still in the initial stages of magical energy convergence? Was it possible that the predictions made by the sages of the Great Library had been inaccurate?
*Crack.*
As these thoughts swirled, the shield before her began to fracture, lines spreading across it before shattering like broken glass. Revealed behind the disintegrating barrier was a slender figure enveloped in a cloak.
"That... who is that...?"
"It’s Lord Death!"
"By the heavens, it truly is Lord Death! Lord Death has saved us!"
The gathered citizens erupted in cheers, their gazes fixated on Lord Death with immense adoration. Naturally, some among the crowd remained bewildered, curiously inquiring about the identity of this figure.
"He leads the Strange Squad! You’ve seen them during every major disaster involving mutated creatures!"
"That’s right, the incident at White Mountain Village two months ago was resolved by them!"
"The White Mountain Village incident? Weren’t the Self-Defense Forces involved...?"
"I was there! It had nothing to do with the Self-Defense Forces at all! They arrived two hours late; the Magic Snow Bear was already dealt with by then!"
"We’ve been lied to, utterly deceived by the government! How many other truths are being hidden? How many more of the government’s dark secrets remain unexposed?"
As these words were exchanged, the citizens’ emotions surged once more. With each exposed falsehood, the credibility of the island nation’s government dissolved, plummeting to unprecedented lows.
However.
At this precise moment, Eri paid no attention to the unfolding scene. Her gaze remained locked onto the two Dragon Knights suspended in the sky, her long sword grasped firmly in her hand.
*Swish.*
As if teleporting, her figure vanished from everyone’s sight.
Huh?
Rod flinched, a sense of unease washing over him. He yanked the reins attached to the dragon’s head upward, and the red dragon beat its wings, the beast instantly ascending.
*Thud.*
A deep gash appeared along the red dragon’s belly, spraying crimson blood into the air.
"They managed to dodge it, did they?" Eri’s voice was calm as she hovered in mid-air as if walking on nothing. Her initial intention was to sever the red dragon’s head directly, but she hadn't anticipated such a swift reaction from the Dragon Knight.
"Damn you!" Witnessing his companion’s injury, Rod flew into a blinding rage. "You insignificant native, you court death! Tear him to shreds!"
Even without Rod’s command, the red dragon was already hurtling towards Eri at breakneck speed.
Dragons from the Edwin Continent possessed remarkable intelligence and harbored emotions such as joy and anger. Although their contracts compelled them to obey their Dragon Knights while alive, this did not diminish their capacity for independent thought.
Wounded by what it perceived as an insect-like being, this proud young red dragon could not tolerate the insult. Its razor-sharp claws lashed out towards Eri.
*Clink.*
A sharp metallic sound echoed as the dragon’s claw strike was effortlessly deflected by the long sword.
"So, this is the might of a dragon?" Eri’s tone was detached as it emanated from beneath her cloak. "Hardly impressive."
She spoke with genuine sincerity.
Through this probing attack, she sought to gauge the true strength of the colossal dragon. At that moment, she had even steeled herself for the possibility of being ripped in half.
After all, having acquired the X-factor, the fear of death was no longer a concern. Yet, she had never imagined that this dragon would be incapable of even tearing her asunder, let alone sending her flying.
"You... you..." Rod began to falter, panic setting in. He had never conceived that in this seemingly primitive world, a human could physically contend with a dragon.
While his companion was merely a young dragon, its strength far surpassed that of an adult or prime dragon, it was undeniably a dragon nonetheless. To withstand a dragon’s power through sheer physical might was an feat typically reserved for warriors of the Saint-level!
Could this native be a Saint? No, that was impossible! How could a Saint possibly exist in such an underdeveloped world!
As he grappled with these bewildering thoughts, the native before him vanished once more with surprising speed.
*Schluck.*
The wet sound of a blade piercing flesh resonated.
A clean cut severed the dragon’s left wing at its base, causing a torrent of brilliant red blood to erupt like a geyser.
*ROAR!*
The crimson dragon unleashed a piercing, pain-filled cry, its massive form tilting precariously as it spiraled towards the earth.
"Its defenses are lacking, roughly comparable to an armored vehicle," Eri stated calmly, wiping a splatter of blood from her sword. "It seems my initial assessment was inaccurate. Dragons of this caliber, even a thousand of them, wouldn’t pose any real danger to this world."
With defenses only at the level of an armored vehicle, it was certainly incapable of withstanding the force of guided missiles. The reason this dragon had so easily annihilated the Northern Fleet earlier was purely due to the element of surprise.
Had the Northern Fleet executed an aggressive defensive maneuver at that precise moment, unleashing a preemptive strike with missiles launched from the cruisers, this dragon would have been vanquished already.
*Whoosh.*
Just as Eri prepared to deliver the decisive blow to the red dragon, a jet-black, emerald beam suddenly streaked towards her.
Eri gracefully sidestepped, evading the incoming projectile, her gaze shifting to its origin. It was evident that this attack originated from the green dragon. "You intend to intervene?"
"I... cannot... permit you to slay him!" she declared, her Japanese words fragmented.
Her capacity to communicate in Japanese stemmed from her elven race’s innate gift for language acquisition, allowing her to comprehend any human tongue in a remarkably short span.
"You can speak Japanese, that’s truly remarkable," Eri commented with a click of her tongue. "Is this the mystical power of another realm? My fascination with you grows."
"Fascination?" Claire seemed somewhat perplexed by the precise connotation of Eri’s chosen word.
"However, for the moment, I cannot allow you to impede me." Eri had no desire to offer explanations, slowly lifting her right hand. "Bakudo Number Sixty-One, Rikujokoro!"
*Bang. Bang. Bang.*
Several luminous panels materialized instantly, encasing both Claire and the green dragon she rode in a firm confinement.
(I will absolutely end you!# The Dragon Knight, who had been thrown to the ground, bellowed a world-shattering roar, a formidable aura surging from within him.
Yet, in the very next instant, this nascent aura, which had failed to fully condense, dispersed like wisps of smoke.
Eri’s form materialized behind him, the blade she held being sheathed with a slow, deliberate motion. "A shame, your opportunities have expired."
As her words concluded, Rod’s entire being was bisected diagonally, much like a block of soft tofu. Crimson blood splattered across the vast expanse of the sky.
