Arcane Academy: The Divine Extraction Legacy Chapter 1290: The Problem

The moment Lisa stepped through the gate, the entire Formation Array trembled.
For an instant, an enormous fluctuation of energy was released from the portal, and even the stabilized gate began to distort under the pressure of the being crossing through it.
Lisa Grayback did not seem bothered by it.
Her figure emerged from the gate without the slightest hesitation, and the moment her feet touched the ground, a terrifying aura spread through the surroundings.
It was not simply the presence of a powerful individual.
It was the pressure of an Immortal.
The force of Divinity contained within Lisa’s body naturally resonated with the laws of the Valor Realm, creating a disturbance that could easily be detected by powerful beings if it were allowed to spread.
However, Lisa’s arrival did not occur in an open field.
Instead, she appeared within a specially prepared chamber hidden deep beneath the Dawnblades’ headquarters in Atrium City.
The moment she arrived, the Formation Arrays surrounding the chamber activated simultaneously.
Countless runes lit up along the walls and floor, while several layers of defensive formations began absorbing and redirecting the energy released by the portal.
Ruth had spent days preparing for this exact moment.
After the recruitment process was completed, they learned that an Immortal would finally try crossing the gate...
"We did it..." Ruth muttered as she stood at the center of the chamber with Darlene, Cecilia, Cielo, and Jericho nearby, all of them watching the portal carefully.
"Activate the second layer."
Ruth’s voice remained calm as Jericho immediately moved to one of the formations and infused his Will into it.
The runes suddenly brightened.
At the same time, Cielo raised his hand and activated his Psychic Arts, creating another layer of mental interference around the chamber.
Anyone attempting to sense what was happening from outside would find their perception distorted.
Cecilia also released several of her beasts, allowing them to spread throughout the underground facility and monitor the surroundings.
Darlene, meanwhile, stood beside Ruth with her black snake coiled around her arm.
"The energy fluctuation is still rising," Darlene warned.
"Got it..."
Ruth stared at Lisa.
The Vampire Immortal had only just arrived, yet the pressure radiating from her body was already causing the surrounding formations to tremble.
No... Perhaps this was something Lisa couldn’t control, as she had just arrived in a different realm...
Furthermore, instead of sending a Grand Arcanist Level or perhaps Half-Immortal Level, they had decided to send a true Immortal.
This was the first time an actual Immortal had entered the Valor Realm through their portal.
They had prepared for it.
Still, witnessing it firsthand was completely different.
"Third layer is ready," Jericho said.
Ruth nodded.
"Then activate it."
Another formation lit up.
The enormous energy fluctuation that should have spread throughout Atrium City was immediately swallowed by the formation, while Cielo’s Psychic Arts distorted the perceptions of anyone who might have sensed something unusual.
The Dawnblades had even prepared several false energy signatures that would appear in completely different locations.
If someone sensed the arrival of an Immortal, they would not be able to determine where that Immortal had actually appeared.
Only after all the formations stabilized did Ruth finally relax.
"Good."
Lisa looked around the underground chamber before smiling.
"So this is where you’ve been hiding."
Cecilia couldn’t help but laugh. They were indeed hiding right now...
"It can’t be helped..."
Lisa smiled and glanced at the countless formations surrounding her.
"You really did well preparing for my arrival..."
However, Lisa’s smile gradually faded as she turned her attention toward the portal behind her.
The gate was still floating above the Formation Array, but its condition was very different from when she had first stepped through it. The surface of the portal had become extremely unstable, with faint distortions constantly rippling across it.
Lisa frowned...
"Wait."
Everyone immediately looked toward her.
She stepped closer to the portal and carefully examined the strange fluctuations surrounding it. Unlike the others, Lisa could sense something deeper than the visible instability. The laws of the Valor Realm were resisting the connection, and the enormous amount of Divinity that had passed through the gate had placed a tremendous strain on the formation.
After observing it for several moments, Lisa finally sighed.
"This gate can’t be used again for now."
Ruth’s expression changed.
"What?"
"The passage was barely stable enough to let me through." Lisa pointed toward the distorted space. "When I crossed over, the gate was forced to withstand the pressure of an Immortal’s body and Divinity. It consumed almost all the stability that you had accumulated."
Jericho frowned as he looked at the formation.
"So... we can’t send anyone else through?"
"Not unless you want them to die."
The answer was so straightforward that everyone fell silent.
Lisa continued examining the gate before slowly shaking her head.
"Even if you somehow managed to force it open again, the passage wouldn’t be able to withstand another powerful existence. A Grand Arcanist might still have a slight chance, but sending another Immortal through would be impossible."
Ruth immediately understood the implication.
Lisa could only accept the situation.
At least for the time being, no Immortal from another realm could follow Lisa into the Valor Realm.
Lisa then crouched beside the formation and placed her hand against one of the glowing runes.
A faint golden light spread from her fingertips.
The entire formation immediately responded.
Ruth watched carefully as Lisa began examining the structure of the gate itself.
After several minutes, Lisa finally stood up.
"I understand the problem now."
"Can it be repaired?" Cielo asked.
"Yes."
Everyone’s expressions brightened.
"How long?"
Lisa thought for a moment.
"If I were alone, probably two or three months."
Ruth blinked.
"That’s all?"
She believed that it was too fast, considering they had spent years here already.
Lisa laughed softly.
"Don’t underestimate the amount of work involved. I’m talking about two or three months assuming I can gather enough Divinity for me to stabilize the gate."
She pointed toward the formation.
"This connection is far too fragile. It isn’t simply a matter of repairing the Formation Array. The gate itself needs to be reinforced with Divinity so that it can withstand the laws of both realms."
Ruth nodded slowly as Lisa gave the formation another glance.
"Fortunately, you’ve already established a foundation here, and the Valor Realm seems to contain plenty of resources that can help me gather enough Divinity."
"I guess we would’ve needed ten years."
Ruth replied with a laugh.
Lisa nodded.
"Right... At your current level, you could slowly gather the necessary energy and reinforce the gate yourselves, but the process would be extremely inefficient. You would have to accumulate it little by little while constantly repairing the formation."
She then looked toward the unstable gate once more.
"For the next two or three months, however, don’t expect anyone else to come through."
Her expression became serious.
"Until I stabilize this connection, this gate is effectively a one-way passage that has already been exhausted."
Ruth nodded.
"Then we’ll use those two or three months wisely. We will deal with the Order of the Sky Sword first..."
