Stella successfully endured and absorbed the Nightmare Fire after a difficult trial, gaining a new power. Meanwhile, in Atrium City, Jericho, Cecilia, Cielo, and Enkrid were ambushed by city guards and accused of harboring fugitives, leading to an immediate confrontation.

Enkrid, though still recovering, drew his blade with trembling hands.

He was nervous... However, he was able to join the battle.

This was his first true fight since he was able to join the Dawnblades...

Thud!

He blocked a spear thrown at him, and the impact was already rattling his arms, but he held firm...

Enkrid was shocked.

The Knights possessed Will, and because of that, their attacks were heavier and stronger, which could break even his sword.

However, he actually managed to survive...

"Tsk... You’re lucky..." The Knight muttered as he looked at Jericho, who charged at him.

Just like that, Enkrid watched as Jericho took over the fight and confronted the Knight!

Soon, they were exchanging sword moves, blow for blow!

Clang! Clang! Clang!

Surprisingly, none of them were getting an advantage!

Enkrid was shocked... An official knight was unable to gain the upper hand against an adventurer!

"So this is what the nobles send? Hired dogs with false charges?" Jericho growled as he continued fighting

The knight sneered. "You should have surrendered. Now you’ll die resisting."

Soon, the rest of the guards attacked. The Dawnblades were fighting back against overwhelming numbers. Though outnumbered, their skill and unity kept them standing!

Jericho’s blade rang out again and again, as steel clashed against steel.

The knight continued using heavy strikes, his Will was surging through each blow, but Jericho matched him step for step.

Finally, Jericho feinted to strike his lower body, then twisted his blade upward in a powerful arc.

Bam!

The knight’s sword was knocked aside and his balance was broken. Jericho then struck the night on his chest and jaw and soon, his blade hovered at the man’s throat.

"You’ve lost..." Jericho muttered, unwilling to kill a knight in front of many people.

After all, they weren’t prepared to change their identities just yet. Killing a Knight that was serving a noble was a huge crime in this world after all.

The knight froze, his pride wounded. He spat blood to the side but lowered his weapon.

He had no idea how this adventurer remained unknown, but he knew that targeting Enkrid was no longer possible with his team.

Jericho refused to kill him, but it didn’t mean that he would just let the knight go...

"How much is your life worth?"

"I..." The Knight stammered as he realized that he must actually pay his ransom.

However, he knew that it would not be done by the noble family he was serving.

In the end, he gave his sword.

"This is worth about 75 gold coins... Take it."

Around them, chaos still raged. Cielo’s eyes glowed faintly as he unleashed another burst of psychic force, sending three soldiers to sleep.

He moved with restraint, careful not to reveal the full depth of his powers.

"Stay down," he warned coldly.

Cecilia also fought, wielding only a simple staff... However, she had already summoned dogs that pounced at the soldiers, tearing through their ranks.

These dogs were as large as Great Danes!

The guards were unable to do anything... They were unnerved by the sudden appearance of the dogs. Cecilia smirked. "You should have stayed home."

Enkrid, though still recovering, fought with the team...

Within minutes, the courtyard was littered with defeated soldiers. The knight, humiliated, dragged himself back with his men who were also retreating.

None dared to continue the attack after experiencing that defeat.

Jericho lowered his sword and turned to the others. "We’re done here. Let’s take this to the guild."

"Let’s leave this place." Jericho muttered they moved quickly to the Adventurer’s Guild.

Soon, the receptionist looked up in shock as Jericho slammed his hand on the counter.

"We were attacked in the streets. A knight and his soldiers tried to arrest us on false charges. They said we’re harboring fugitives, consorting with criminals, and disrupting guild law."

The receptionist paled. "That... shouldn’t be possible. The guild never issued such orders."

Jericho’s eyes narrowed. "Then they acted on their own. For coin... or for a bounty from others."

The receptionist checked the records, flipping through parchment. "At the very least, there’s no official directive from the nobles and no official bounty issued through the guild. Whoever attacked you was acting independently."

Cecilia crossed her arms. "So they were just greedy dogs who wanted to rob us?"

As they gathered in a corner of the guild hall, Jericho couldn’t help but ask.

"Do you think they recognized Enkrid?"

"Impossible," Cecilia muttered.

"Right, how would they know? Enkrid wears Ruth’s mask. The runes should make him unrecognizable." Cielo muttered.

"I saw how the knight attacked Enkrid first with his spear. He’s definitely targeted.

Jericho immediately considered the worst. "It seems they had help. Shamans, perhaps. Someone who could pierce the mask’s illusion."

"If that’s true... then someone powerful is backing them." Cielo muttered.

Jericho leaned on his chair and nodded. "Then we’ll be ready. If shamans are involved, this is bigger than money problems. Someone wants us exposed."

Enkrid clenched his fists. He was a little bit nervous. He had survived his first battle, but the danger was far from over.

After the confrontation in Atrium City, the Dawnblades agreed to keep a low profile.

They avoided unnecessary conflicts, limited their movements in crowded towns, and concealed their identities whenever possible.

Ruth’s mask runes and careful planning ensured Enkrid remained hidden, while Jericho reminded them constantly that survival mattered more as they were still waiting for the path to stabilize...

For the next six months, they focused on missions that drew less suspicion but still built their strength. Gradually, their name spread... not because of politics or noble disputes, but because of their daring raids in the Red Marsh Forest.

The forest was infamous for its low-level corrupted beasts and treacherous terrain, yet the Dawnblades returned again and again, slaying monsters and retrieving rare resources.

It may only be for low-tier Adventurers and Knights, but that was enough for them to appear weaker.

Unfortunately, despite raiding only a low-tier field, word of their victories traveled across guild halls. Adventurers spoke of their unity, and merchants praised the rare herbs and materials they brought back.

By the end of those six months... the Dawnblades had unexpectedly become famous among the commoners and other smaller groups of Adventurers.

"Cyper should be sending us another item... Let’s return to our base!" Ruth muttered as she led her team back to Atrium City.
