Arcane Academy: The Divine Extraction Legacy Chapter 1221: Request

Another disciple advanced onto the second platform.
Eryn was his name, standing tall with wide shoulders, appearing remarkably composed. In contrast to Glen's fierce, predatory vibe, Eryn seemed more mature because of his deliberate speech and unwavering serenity.
"Five of you... Step forward."
Obeying the command, five learners transformed one after another.
The initial one morphed into a Crimson Tiger, muscles undulating beneath his fur, while stripes shimmered softly with fiery essence.
Next came the shift to a Scaled Crocodile for the second, its muzzle extending, tough scales emerging on the flesh, though the covering remained incomplete.
The third adopted the shape of a Silver Stag, with graceful antlers forking out... Though it appeared fragile, this form brimmed with swiftness and nimbleness.
The fourth changed into a Duskwing Bat, wings expanding broadly, naturally equipped with sound-wave powers that he believed could counter the senior effectively...
Last of all, the final one took on the guise of a Molten Ape, cracks glowing on his hide, vapor emanating with each exhale. This represented a shift from a Rare Creature in the Beast Domain.
Awe-filled whispers spread through the spectators. These shapes possessed potent traits, each offering distinct edges.
Yet Eryn simply shut his eyes. His presence swelled, triggering a shift in his frame.
Hardening occurred on his epidermis, followed by bark creeping over his limbs and torso. His lower extremities anchored to the earth, swelling into sturdy, tree-trunk supports.
In the end, limbs budded from his upper body, foliage blooming effortlessly. Naturally, his features altered, green luminescence filling his gaze...
A Treant form had been achieved by him, seldom witnessed in learner circles. After all, it carried severe repercussions.
Without proper control, instances existed where the user suffered a dermal affliction transforming flesh to bark...
Nevertheless, when handled well, it resembled an animated bastion merging protection, restraint, and overwhelming might.
Hesitation gripped the quintet of learners.
This Treant surely lacked speed as a foe, preferring to hold its ground steadfastly. Still, its protective shell promised to be formidable...
"Come," Eryn uttered. "Display your savagery."
Glances passed among the learners until they nodded in unison.
The Crimson Tiger let out a mighty roar and pounced ahead... But Eryn's limb of branches swept in a broad sweep, snaring the feline in flight. The collision hurled it tumbling over the battleground.
Thud!
"Swiftness lacking foundation proves futile," Eryn remarked, "A hunter needs to discern the right moment to spring and the wisdom to hold back."
Following suit, the Crocodile lunged with clamping maw. Roots erupted from below for Eryn, twisting around the scaly form to immobilize it. A limb bore down, compelling the reptile to writhe in vain.
"Learn to ally with the terrain as well."
With glowing horns infused by Arcane Energy, the Silver Stag dashed forward.
However, Eryn lowered himself, his rough bark enduring the clash. A subsequent pivot allowed his branch-grip to seize the antlers, compelling the learner to drop to one knee.
"This Stag feels off... Consider mastering a different Beast Form."
Among the remarks, this one stung deepest, with the rest overhearing too. For the moment, none challenged the master's words, suspecting he perceived flaws beyond their sight.
Simultaneously, the Duskwing Bat dove from above... Upward reached Eryn's branches, forming a lattice of foliage and timber.
A sound blast erupted from the bat!
Screech!
Yet prior to enduring beyond a handful of seconds, capture struck it mid-flight... Entanglement followed instantly, escape impossible.
"Acquire a superior hiding skill. You're far too simple to snare. Defense is utterly absent."
At last, the Molten Ape thundered a cry, knuckles ablaze with warmth. It rushed in, hammering Eryn's bark with blazing strikes. Briefly, vapor sizzled as fragments split. But Eryn's roots exploded once more, encircling the primate's lower limbs, yanking it earthward. A decisive squeeze then embedded the ape into the dirt.
"Raw might lacking restraint devours itself. Flames require forging, lest they engulf their master."
Panting heavily, the five sprawled with forms worn down, yet surrender eluded them. Eryn freed them simply to invite another assault.
"Recall," his resonant tone declared. "Shifting forms goes beyond mere alteration. It demands equilibrium. The creature lends power, yet you impart insight. Lacking unity, you're reduced to feral meat."
Silence enveloped the onlookers, struck with wonder.
Denise even inclined nearer, eyes tightening in reflection. The message shone through... these Asura followers transcended mere combatants. They served as profound mentors, channeling a creed of metamorphosis.
Once over thirty minutes passed, the next group's moment arrived.
The call of Professor Paterson echoed.
Amaya, Vin, Brannic, plus two additional learners were summoned...
"Professor... We'd prefer instruction from Sir Eryn in his Treant shape."
An eyebrow arched from Professor Paterson at the bold interjection. Requests for specific opponents from learners were uncommon. Usually, assignments to platforms went unchallenged. Their determination in this choice stood firm.
"You seek Eryn?" Paterson inquired, voice laced with astonishment and interest.
"Yes," Amaya affirmed steadily. "We aim to battle the Treant. As a scarce shift, we yearn to test it."
Confusion rippled among the rest, yet they held back from probing the choice.
Toward the third platform, where Kaelith positioned himself, Paterson's eyes turned.
Earlier, Kaelith had assumed a Serpent Asura Form. Slender built his physique, extended his appendages, four claw-ended arms protruding.
Venom coursed through him, paired with sly tactics. Opponents fell apart under his handling with ease, though this Serpent guise held no true rarity, echoed by many akin variants.
Moreover, the Serpent's poison left combatants departing the platform rattled.
Unlike the equilibrium preached by Glen and Eryn, his creed centered on supremacy via guile.
"The rest possess skill too, but we insist on clashing with the Treant, Professor," Vin declared.
Witnessing their unyielding stance, Professor Paterson had no choice but to consent.
