Apocalypse: King of Zombies Chapter 1569: He Forgot He Had a Team

Ethan frowned as well. The Eldoria Continent was enormous. Even at the Beast Sovereign’s speed, traveling from the Central Region to the Southern Region would take more than three hours. That left them exposed for over an hour after Big Mike’s ability expired.
"Boss, why don’t you secretly open a Riftwalk to the Central Region and bring the Beast Sovereign here?" Garrick whispered.
Ethan shook his head. "Won’t work. The Celestials Patriarch may be fighting Dopey, but he’s kept his attention on us the entire time. The moment I open a Riftwalk, he’ll be here attacking the passage. The target area is too large for Big Mike to block completely."
"Then what do we do?"
Ethan considered it for a moment before lowering his voice.
"I’ll pull Dopey and the Gildari Patriarch into the Deadlock Dimension and see if we can kill him."
"Big Mike, you guard the spatial node. Don’t let the Celestials Patriarch hit it. And no matter what happens, keep acting like you have nothing to worry about. Bluff him for as long as you can."
"I don’t know if we can kill the Gildari Patriarch within two hours, so be ready. If you can scare him into holding back, great. If not, give us the signal before your ability expires. We’ll come out and figure something else out."
"Got it." Big Mike nodded seriously.
He might be unreliable most of the time, but when it truly mattered, he never let them down.
With the plan settled, everyone followed Big Mike toward the battlefield.
In the distance, the Celestials and Gildari Patriarchs watched them approach with puzzled expressions, unable to figure out what they were planning.
Neither one paid them much attention. They knew that if they attacked, the humans would simply duck back into that special dimension and leave the unkillable bastard outside to annoy them.
Rather than waste time getting taunted by Big Mike, they were better off eliminating the soulless thrall as quickly as possible. Once it was gone, dealing with the humans would be easy.
The group cautiously approached the battlefield, every last one of them hiding behind Big Mike and using him as a shield.
They had no other choice. They couldn’t withstand the shock waves from a battle between Tier 47 fighters. Only Big Mike could tank them.
Before long, they were close enough to see the three combatants clearly.
More importantly, they were within Ethan’s range.
He locked on to Dopey, the Gildari Patriarch, and everyone else in the group, then activated the Deadlock Dimension again.
All of them vanished into the dimension, leaving only Big Mike and the Celestials Patriarch behind.
The Celestials Patriarch stared in disbelief at the empty space where Dopey and the Gildari Patriarch had been.
They had disappeared in the middle of the fight!
Could these humans’ abilities get any more broken?
He swept his gaze over the area, but only that infuriating bastard remained.
Big Mike had already moved in front of the spatial node, leaving him no opening to attack it.
The Celestials Patriarch casually waved a hand and sent out a blade of light, testing whether Big Mike’s absurd ability was still active.
It clearly was.
The blade vanished the moment it touched him.
"Give it a rest, old man. I’m giving you free shots and you still can’t do shit," Big Mike taunted.
"Hmph."
The Celestials Patriarch said nothing else.
Arguing with this man would only end with him dying of rage.
He had already figured out what the humans were planning. They obviously intended to kill the Gildari Patriarch inside that special dimension.
He wasn’t particularly worried.
The Gildari Patriarch was the strongest Patriarch outside the top four. He was formidable in both offense and defense. His attacks weren’t as powerful as the Thundari Patriarch’s, and his defenses weren’t as strong as the Stoneborn Patriarch’s, but his balance between the two made him second only to the four strongest Patriarchs in overall combat ability.
His only weakness was his lack of ranged attacks. Otherwise, Eldoria wouldn’t have four supreme races. It would have five.
The soulless thrall was powerful, but it was only on their level. Killing the Gildari Patriarch would take at least ten days, if not two weeks.
The real concern was how long Big Mike’s ability could last. If it truly held out until the Beast Sovereign arrived, they would be in serious trouble. The Celestials Patriarch would have no choice but to abandon the Gildari Patriarch and flee alone.
"Hey, old man. You gonna fight or not?" Big Mike asked when he remained silent.
The Celestials Patriarch glanced at him indifferently but still refused to answer.
"If you’re done fighting, how about we have a chat?"
"Come on, tell me all about how you ungrateful bastards wiped out the humans of the Eldoria Continent."
"..."
Inside the Deadlock Dimension, the Gildari Patriarch was equally confused. One moment he had been fighting, and the next, the entire environment had changed.
But he didn’t panic. He was still facing the same soulless thrall. Only the battlefield had changed.
He could feel the special dimension suppressing his strength by twenty percent, but the soulless thrall was under the same restriction. It made no real difference.
As for the humans, he wasn’t looking down on them, but did any of them even dare come close?
Wait. One of them actually did?
Dopey and the Gildari Patriarch were locked in a fierce battle. Sean and the others stayed far away, but Ethan moved toward the fight.
Dopey couldn’t eliminate the Patriarch quickly on his own. Ethan had to get involved.
The gap between their strength was enormous, but inside the Deadlock Dimension, Ethan had some confidence.
More importantly, he had his entire team with him this time.
Ethan watched the two combatants closely. The instant their attacks collided, he activated Silencing Gaze and sealed the Gildari Patriarch’s mental energy.
The golden light coating the Patriarch’s iron staff vanished. Dopey smashed straight through the weapon and sent him flying.
Yet the Gildari Patriarch’s black metal body was incredibly durable. Dopey’s strike failed to cause any real injury.
Ethan seized the opening and used Teleportation to appear behind him. He activated Absolute Stasis, then brought his Poleaxe down on the Patriarch’s head with an intense black glow.
Boom!
The impact snapped Ethan’s arm and sent him flying backward.
The Gildari Patriarch’s head, on the other hand, was completely unharmed.
When Absolute Stasis ended, he merely scratched his head in confusion. It seemed to hurt a little, but a moment later, he was back to fighting Dopey as if nothing had happened.
Ethan looked helplessly at the scene.
So this was Tier 47.
It was every bit as ridiculous as he’d expected.
The difference between them was simply too great. Even a full-power Annihilation Strike couldn’t hurt the Gildari Patriarch at all.
Sean and the others hurried over. Henry immediately began healing Ethan’s injuries while Emily restored his mental energy.
"Ethan, you might be the only guy who can break his own arm by hitting someone else," Henry joked.
"That bastard’s harder than a solid block of iron," Ethan said helplessly. "That was a full-power Annihilation Strike. Just imagine how much force it took to rebound hard enough to break my arm."
"He’s harder than iron," Sean agreed. "His current state is similar to my full-body metal transformation, except his body turns into some kind of black metal. It’s probably much stronger than my Titansteel Form, though I don’t think it’s as tough as my Adamantine Form."
"Yeah, this is going to be difficult." Ethan sighed. "The gap between us is too large. I can’t damage him."
"Maybe not," Mia said suddenly. "Power Transfer lets me transfer all my energy to you. Emily’s Strength Blessing and Mental Blessing can also increase your strength and mental energy by twenty percent."
"Together, we should be able to boost your overall strength by around thirty percent. That might be enough to break through his defenses."
"Oh, right. It’s worth a try." Ethan’s eyes lit up.
He had spent the past few days fighting alone. He had almost forgotten what the rest of his team could do.
