Ethan defeats High Elder Aeron and begins to systematically eliminate the remaining fighters and Outland Beasts, draining mental energy from his companions to sustain his power. As the battle nears its end, the last surviving fighters attempt to attack Chris and his group, but they are easily repelled by Sean, who demonstrates incredible defensive and offensive power.

The remaining Stage SS fighters stared at the severely wounded Galeborn elder, their scalps prickling as they turned to Sean in disbelief.

Had this man really just reached Stage SS?

He had taken the combined attacks of six Stage SS fighters head-on, then critically wounded a Tier 39 Galeborn elder with a single strike. It was absurd.

No wonder the pinnacle races had been so desperate to wipe out humanity.

Humans were terrifying.

While they were still reeling, an invisible figure silently approached the fallen Galeborn elder.

The elder was wounded, but he hadn’t lost the ability to fight. After recovering from the initial shock, he quickly climbed back to his feet.

The instant he did, he sensed danger.

It was pure instinct. At their level, every fighter had some awareness of an approaching threat.

The Galeborn elder’s heart lurched, and he immediately retreated.

Unfortunately, his injured body reacted a fraction too slowly.

A spear appeared from his flank and stabbed straight into his neck.

Ambush Strike!

With Chris’s enhanced strength, the spear’s black edge, and the explosive power of Ambush Strike combined, the attack dealt devastating damage.

Squelch!

The spear punched straight through the Galeborn elder’s neck.

He grabbed the shaft, eyes bulging as he glared furiously at Chris.

Chris met his gaze with cold indifference. He tried to wrench the spear free, but when it wouldn’t budge, he immediately backed away.

"I’ll... kill you!" the elder rasped.

A massive Wind Cutter formed in his hand and slashed toward Chris.

"Ethereal Form!"

Chris vanished, and the enormous Wind Cutter passed straight through his body without harming him.

Ambush Strike prevented him from turning invisible again for a short time, but it didn’t stop him from using Ethereal Form. In a way, that mitigated the skill’s drawback.

After avoiding the attack, Chris rushed forward and kicked the butt of the spear.

Squelch!

The weapon drove even deeper into the elder’s neck.

The Galeborn elder stared at Chris with wide, furious eyes before finally collapsing in bitter defeat.

"Zephran!"

By the time the other Stage SS fighters reached him, Elder Zephran was already dead.

They fell silent as they looked down at his lifeless body.

Their only Tier 39 fighter was gone. Their last scraps of hope sank with him.

They had assumed this group would be easy prey and that they could at least drag a few humans down with them.

Compared to the monster slaughtering everyone on the other side of the battlefield, Chris and the others did look like easier targets.

But now they realized that even these so-called easy targets were far beyond their ability to handle.

Chris gave them no chance to recover. Another Spatial Sever tore through the two weakest Stage SS elders, cutting both of them in half.

"Die!"

The last three Stage SS fighters fell into complete despair. Then that despair turned to madness, and they bombarded Chris with every ability they had.

Chris activated Ethereal Form again.

Their attacks were useless against him.

By then, Sean and Henry had arrived as well.

Sean raised his club and charged the Tier 38 Galeborn elder.

Henry was even more direct. He used Pain Link on one of the Tier 37 elders, then walked straight into their barrage.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

Ability after ability struck Henry, only for some invisible force to transfer all the damage elsewhere.

"Pfft!"

The Tier 37 elder coughed up a mouthful of blood and looked around in confusion.

"No one even hit me! Why does it hurt so much?"

Squelch!

Chris’s dagger pierced the neck of the other Tier 37 fighter, who slowly collapsed to the ground.

Only two enemies remained: the Tier 38 elder locked in a fierce battle with Sean and the Tier 37 elder connected to Henry through Pain Link.

Chris left them alone so Sean and Henry could practice.

Neither of them had gotten a proper chance to fight since reaching Stage SS. These two made perfect opponents for testing their new abilities.

Adamantine Form doubled Sean’s strength and defense. With several layers of protective abilities stacked on top of that, the Tier 38 elder could barely hurt him.

Meanwhile, every swing of Sean’s club came down harder than the last.

Before long, the Tier 38 Galeborn elder was being completely suppressed. At this rate, his defeat was only a matter of time.

Henry’s fight was even stranger.

He crooked a finger at his opponent.

"Come on. Hit me."

"You’re asking to die!"

Fear and rage had already overwhelmed the elder’s judgment. He roared and unleashed another powerful Tempest Cleave at Henry.

Henry made no attempt to dodge or defend himself.

"Pfft!"

Tempest Cleave struck Henry, but it was the Galeborn elder who coughed up blood. His eyes filled with shock and confusion.

"How is this happening?"

"Surprised?" Henry gave him an infuriating grin. "I’m not telling."

He waved a hand, firing a Void Beam at the elder, but the attack was stopped by a Cyclone Barrier.

Henry shook his head helplessly.

"I really wasn’t made for fighting.

"Chris, you handle him. I’ve pretty much figured out how my new skill works."

"Fine."

Chris nodded and pulled his spear from the Fifth Elder’s corpse before vanishing.

After witnessing what Chris could do, the remaining elder immediately fled in terror.

Henry waved a hand. Countless vines erupted around the elder and bound him in place. Henry then hurriedly deactivated Pain Link.

Squelch!

A spear appeared without warning and pierced straight through the elder’s head.

"Done." Chris retrieved his spear and walked over to Henry.

"Impressive." Henry gave him a thumbs-up. "No wonder you dared to take on an entire race by yourself."

"Can you stop bringing that up?"

"Hahaha!"

Thud!

A heavy impact came from nearby.

Sean had converted the damage he’d absorbed into an attack and combined it with Power Strike, smashing the Tier 38 elder through the air with one swing.

He immediately chased after him and brought his club down again without giving him a chance to recover.

The elder reacted quickly and cast a shield over himself.

Boom!

The shield held firm against Sean’s blow.

But once Sean gained the upper hand, he never let up. If one swing wasn’t enough, he followed it with a second, then a third.

Every strike was a Power Strike, further amplified by Berserk. He gave the elder no chance to get back on his feet.

Sean’s offense was every bit as formidable as his defense. Adamantine Form doubled his strength, Power Strike doubled the force of his attacks again, and Berserk pushed him even further.

Not even a Tier 38 fighter could withstand a barrage like that.

On the fourth swing, the shield shattered. Sean’s club struck the elder’s head, sending blood streaming down his face.

Before the elder could retreat, the fifth blow was already falling.

Thud!

Blood sprayed through the air as the elder’s head burst apart. His body collapsed, unwilling to the very end.

With that, every fighter from the other races who had been dragged into the Deadlock Dimension was dead.

"Whew..."

Sean let out a long breath and dropped heavily onto the ground. The aftereffects of Berserk had set in, leaving his entire body weak.
