Ethan and his team emerged from the collapsed pit, sharing valuable crystal cores with Oliver's group as compensation. Oliver recognized the impending danger of Void Realm creatures and the importance of the Fallen Star Squad. Back in Fallen Star City, the team absorbed mysterious energy, rapidly increasing their power. Three days later, ten thousand Fallen Star Guards prepared to attack the Yamato Empire's Infernals, but news of creatures emerging from Riverton City's Void Realm forced Ethan to change their plans.

Riverton City — Exit from the Void Realm...

A group of towering, humanoid beings emerged from the Void Realm, their gazes sweeping across the new surroundings with obvious fascination.

Nearly every one of them stood well over six feet tall. With the exception of their brown hair and somewhat flattened noses, they bore a striking resemblance to humans.

These were the entities that had just made their way out of the Void Realm.

As they observed the verdant mountains and pristine waters, expressions of delight spread across their faces.

"I never imagined the territory these insignificant Bloodfang Orcs inhabit would hold a gateway to such a vast world," one remarked.

"Indeed. Had we not pursued those Bloodfang Orc slave-vermin all the way here, we would never have stumbled upon it," another agreed.

"This world is not without its merits. It could serve as a new home for us Stoneborn. This way, we wouldn't have to contend with those wretched beings for territory any longer."

"Mm. From what I can discern, this world teems with life. Let us first ascertain the strength of the inhabitants."

"Agreed."

The Stoneborn advanced with considerable speed. Before long, they encountered a massive congregation of zombies.

"Are these the indigenous beings? They appear... human?"

"It would seem so. I did not anticipate a human race persisting in a world like this."

"There are numerous them, but their aura is feeble. They do not strike me as formidable."

"We shall discover their capabilities soon enough."

One of the Stoneborn casually gestured. High above, meteor after meteor materialized before plummeting towards the zombie horde.

Sensing the imminent danger, the zombies attempted to disperse.

Unfortunately, the area of impact was immense, leaving them with nowhere to escape.

As the meteors struck, zombies were pulverized into a bloody mess, one after another.

"Just as I suspected," the Stoneborn man chuckled. "Utterly weak."

"Hm? Crystal cores?" another Stoneborn inquired with interest. "So, they have undergone mutation."

"I wonder if any unmutated humans still exist in this world. Given its size, we will require servants. Otherwise, it will be quite lonely with only our own kind residing here."

"There are bound to be. Let us seek them out."

"Mm. Let us get a grasp of this world first. Then, we shall return and bring the clan over."

"Very well."

Meanwhile...

Ethan and his companions were hurrying back towards Fallen Star City.

Riverton City's Void Realm had been the one cause of his greatest concern. He had always harbored a fear that something might emerge from it—especially since the passage was already open.

And now, it finally had.

He could not afford to delay his return.

Riverton City was situated merely a few hundred miles from Fallen Star City, and within the Golden Delta, Fallen Star City stood as essentially the sole major stronghold. It was inevitable that those creatures would eventually make their way here.

And judging by the power of the monsters that had previously escaped... whatever dwelled within that Void Realm was no trivial matter.

If Ethan did not return promptly, Fallen Star City faced the grave possibility of annihilation.

He proceeded directly to Miles's office.

"Inform me precisely of what transpired."

Miles nodded.

"This morning, shortly after your departure, the personnel monitoring the Void Realm contacted me. They reported that a group of tall humanoids had emerged from the exit—approximately two dozen of them. Each stood at least nine feet tall. They were certainly not native to Earth."

"Fortunately, I instructed our people to maintain a safe distance and observe using binoculars," Miles added. "Had they ventured any closer, they would likely all be deceased."

"Do you have any indication of their Tier?" Ethan inquired.

"No," Miles replied. "I did not authorize our personnel to attempt to track them. However, anything emerging from that Void Realm... it will not be straightforward."

Ethan nodded, his expression grave. After a brief pause, he retrieved the satellite phone and dialed Maxwell.

The connection was established almost instantaneously.

"Ethan? What prompts this unexpected call?" Maxwell's voice emanated from the receiver.

"General Kane—can the satellite control center track individuals on the ground?"

"Not without significant difficulty," Maxwell responded. "The satellite network is largely operational again, but pinpointing a single person is challenging unless they possess some extremely distinctive characteristic. Even then, it consumes substantial satellite resources."

"Ideal. The individuals I require are quite distinctive," Ethan stated. "There are over twenty of them moving in unison. Each stands at least nine feet tall, all with brown hair. I need you to locate them and provide me with a live feed."

Maxwell's tone immediately grew serious. "Ethan. Tell me the truth—has something occurred?"

"Yes," Ethan replied, dispensing with any pretense. "Something has emerged from Riverton City's Void Realm. Their strength is unknown. I need visual confirmation of their movements."

"Understood." Maxwell did not hesitate. "No problem. I will make the necessary arrangements immediately."

They concluded the call.

Maxwell promptly summoned the director of the satellite control center, ordering them to allocate all available resources to locating the group.

To their credit, the satellite center acted swiftly. Within thirty minutes, Ethan's satellite phone received a notification to join a shared live feed.He entered the code without a moment's hesitation. A moment later, an image materialized on the display. While not perfectly sharp, it was clear enough to discern the shapes within. The view showed the old compound in Riverton City, a place long surrendered to the zombie hordes. And there, precisely at the breached main gate, stood over twenty colossal figures. They surveyed the ravaged structures as if evaluating a property for purchase. Then—action. A colossal surge of zombies erupted from the compound, charging towards them with frenzied speed. One of the immense figures raised a hand, the gesture utterly languid, almost dismissive. The earth beneath them roared to life. An untold number of earthen spikes, jagged and immense, burst forth instantaneously. They impaled the leading zombies like a grotesque harvest on skewers, the long, blade-like points subsequently forming an impenetrable barrier that halted the advancing mass. The wave of undead slammed against the wall of spikes, their claws scrabbling, teeth gnashing, bodies hurling forward—but the barrier held firm. Witnessing this display, an astonished silence fell over everyone in the room. "Garrick," Ethan stated, turning to face him, "I recall your earth spikes only persisting for a few fleeting seconds before collapsing, correct?" "Yes," Garrick replied, his face etched with tension. "Typically two or three seconds. I cannot maintain them for longer than that." "And the range is utterly absurd," he continued, his eyes fixed on the screen. "That area must have spanned tens of thousands of square feet. And it shows no sign of dissipating. The sheer power behind that technique... I am nowhere near its equal." Ethan offered a slow nod in agreement. Certainly, the individual was only dispatching low-tier zombies—but that single act was sufficient to convey everything Ethan needed to comprehend. These were not adversaries to be underestimated. How far did their superiority extend? That much remained unclear. "Captain," a voice inquired, strained with apprehension, "what is our course of action?" "We observe," Ethan declared. "For the present moment. We will watch and gather intelligence until we fully comprehend the nature of this threat." Every head in the room bowed in assent. At the Atlas City satellite command center, Maxwell and his team were equally captivated by the colossal projection. "So these are the beings that emerged from the Void Realm..." Gabriel mused, his expression grave. "That is a truly terrifying prospect." "Indeed," a subordinate murmured. "A single casual application of a skill has annihilated thousands of zombies. And that was merely one of them. Should the others initiate their assault, they could conceivably eradicate the entire zombie populace surrounding that compound." Another individual posed a quiet question: "Do you believe their strength rivals that of the Fallen Star Squad?" "Most likely," came the immediate response. "If they were not, Ethan would have already moved to eliminate them. He would not be exhibiting such extreme caution." "...Then what are we expected to do?" Maxwell’s gaze remained locked on the screen. "We do what we can. Riverton City is the closest to Fallen Star City. Consequently, Fallen Star City will be the first to face their advance." "At this level of power, our direct intervention would be futile," someone pointed out. "All we can offer is support within our capabilities." Maxwell let out a sigh. "Still... I have faith in them. The Fallen Star Squad is the type of team that achieves the impossible." "Yes," another voice affirmed resolutely, "we have faith as well."
