Previously on Apocalypse: King of Zombies...
Ethan and the Fallen Star Squad left Atlas City with Grace, Vivian's group, and Aurora, traveling on foot toward Golden Valley State while effortlessly hunting Tier 9 zombies for crystal cores. Their display of power left allies awestruck and tempted to join them permanently. Meanwhile, at Fallen Star City, guards detected a large stealthy force from Stonebridge led by Andrew, who scouted the compound's civilian-heavy population and ordered a swift takeover.

Within the Fallen Star City Compound...

Miles narrowed his eyes in bewilderment after receiving the report.

Who in their right mind would dare stir up trouble in Fallen Star City right now?

A chilling laugh escaped Miles' lips.

"Do they believe Fallen Star City is a pushover?"

"No matter who they are. If they target Fallen Star City, they should prepare to be crushed to powder."

He cracked his knuckles, picturing the inevitable outcome.

"Goldie and the white-furred apes have cleared out nearly all the mutant beasts from the surrounding mountains. They've been itching for action lately." Miles' smile grew fierce. "Excellent. Time for them to stretch their legs."

He rose to his feet. "Let's head out and check it."

"Send word to Goldie and the rest to gather at the main gate."

"Got it!"

When Andrew's team hurried to the primary entrance, Miles was already there with his crew.

The groups stood facing each other over the empty space.

Andrew scanned Miles from head to toe. "Are you the boss of Fallen Star City?"

He creased his brow faintly, as if a memory stirred. "Fallen Star... that rings a bell somehow."

He brushed it aside.

Miles gave a single nod. "That's me."

"Fine." Andrew's eyes hardened. "Let me verify something with you."

"A force of twenty thousand is rampaging through Stonebridge City, slaughtering at will. Did they hail from your Fallen Star City?"

"You're from Stonebridge City Compound," Miles realized suddenly.

Andrew's tone iced over. "Just say yes or no. Are they from your group?"

"Yes," Miles replied straightforwardly.

"Good." Andrew smirked. "They murdered our folks. So, how do you plan to make this right?"

"Make it right?" Miles echoed, the term clearly entertaining him.

His grin twisted into a mocking sneer. "Let me figure it out. You couldn't sway them to join, so now you're here snatching hostages to blackmail their kin into submitting to Stonebridge City Compound. Am I close?"

"Nonsense!" Andrew snapped.

"They took our people's lives. We'll claim theirs in return!"

Miles shook his head deliberately. "Yeah, sure. Keep up the pretense."

Suddenly, his face hardened, every trace of friendliness vanishing.

"Do you truly see Fallen Star City as some spot where any mangy mutt can bark and bite?"

Andrew's expression soured. "You—!" He jabbed a finger. "Stonebridge City Compound is a government-aligned force. What the hell is Fallen Star City? Who do you think you are?"

"Oh really?" Miles scoffed.

Then he issued the command he'd clearly anticipated.

"Eliminate them all."

As soon as the order rang out, guttural, ferocious roars echoed from behind the walls.

In the next instant, eight massive white-furred apes burst from the compound.

Every one loomed enormous—towering heights, bulging muscles, snowy fur standing on end—and each gripped a massive club. Their faces lit up with savage joy as they thundered toward Andrew's squad.

Andrew's forces recoiled in alarm.

No one had anticipated this leader skipping warnings and jumping to all-out assault.

The second Andrew sensed the overwhelming aura from those eight apes, his face twisted.

Ice flooded his veins.

"Concentrate your fire!" he bellowed.

The thousands at his back sprang into motion. Powers erupted in a frenzy—flames, frost, wind blades, crackling bolts, force surges—all merging into a furious tempest that crashed onto the advancing apes.

Yet upon impact...

Zero effect.

Not a single falter.

The abilities failed to draw blood. They didn't even scratch. The apes seemed thrilled instead, bellowing fiercer as they plowed through the onslaught like mere exercise.

"This..." Andrew's voice caught.

The same crushing fear gripped every heart.

They had unleashed thousands of strikes—including dozens of Tier 9 Enhanced.

Dozens of Tier 9s unleashing full power... a Tier 10 mutant beast would've been shredded, or at least gravely wounded.

But these white-furred apes?

Perfectly unscathed. No damage. No sway. As if it were all child's play.

Before long, the eight white-furred apes crashed into the throng.

Their clubs whipped into deadly streaks.

Every swing birthed a spray of blood fog. No corpses remained—not even thumb-sized meat scraps.

Miles had equipped those clubs himself, all sourced from the Void Realm.

And truth be told? White-furred apes wielded them with terrifying efficiency. Their battle strength already outstripped fellow mutant beasts at the same level. Armed properly now, they were pure nightmares.

Goldie and his companions were just about to charge ahead too, but upon seeing the chaos unfold, they came to a screeching halt—forcing themselves to stop out of fear of getting smashed in the frenzy.

Those apes swung their clubs wildly like total lunatics. It was impossible to think they could still tell friend from enemy anymore.

In the meantime, Andrew stayed rooted to the spot, his body shaking violently without end.

What he witnessed had scared him completely senseless.

"Tier 11...?"

"No... surpasses Tier 11..."

"Fuck. Stage C!" Andrew's thoughts dissolved into chaos.

During the Atlas City gathering, Maxwell had formalized the Tier system based on Ethan’s standards, so nearly everyone in the large compounds understood: Tier 12 was Stage C.

"How could Stage C mutant beasts exist here...?" Andrew whispered, his mind blank and numb.

He beheld his compound's elite warriors being crushed like mere bugs beneath the apes' massive clubs, his heart quaking so fiercely it seemed ready to burst.

Suddenly, Andrew collapsed to his knees right before Miles.

"I’m sorry! We were wrong! Please—please, let us go!"

Pure terror had seized him fully. If he'd realized Fallen Star City sheltered such terrifying mutant beasts within its walls, he never would have dared to strike at that twenty-thousand-strong force, not even with ten thousand lives to spare.

Yet Miles' expression remained completely unmoved.

Casually, he raised his hand.

A flash of luminous energy erupted from his palm, slamming directly into Andrew’s chest.

Andrew's eyes popped wide open. A mask of utter shock locked onto his face.

"Tier 11..."

"I... I get it now..." His lips quivered as the truth crashed over him. "Fallen Star City... Fallen Star Squad... I should’ve known they were connected..."

Blood dribbled from the edge of his mouth. Moments later, he toppled lifelessly to the ground.

By that moment, more than half of Stonebridge City Compound's several thousand Enhanced had been hacked down in just a few heartbeats. The survivors bolted in panic, scattering every which way.

However, their reprieve was brief.

Enhanced fighters surged from every direction, cutting off all possible escape paths.

Though the Fallen Star Guard's primary forces were busy purging zombies outside, several hundred Tier 9 Enhanced still guarded the compound to preserve order.

Thus, even without the white-furred apes, any assault on Fallen Star City was pure delusion.

To say nothing of the gigantic laser cannon mounted at the gates—one powerful enough to endanger even a Stage C titan.

With no escape in sight, the leftover Stonebridge City Enhanced fell to their knees in despair.

"Please! Let us go! This wasn’t our decision—we were following orders!"

Against Stage C-level white-furred apes, they lacked even the guts to put up a fight.

Miles showed them no mercy whatsoever. His face stayed stone-cold. No second thoughts.

Only when the thousands had been massacred down to a mere few hundred did Miles at last give the word.

"Stop."

At the white-furred ape leader's directive, the apes grudgingly dropped their clubs, their expressions tinged with disappointment.

The surviving few hundred sprawled limply on the dirt, their spirits utterly crushed. The nightmare of this clash would torment them eternally—if they were granted any future at all.

Miles' gaze raked over them like mere goods on a shelf.

"Bring them inside," he commanded coolly. "And notify the Fallen Star Guard—wipe out Stonebridge City’s upper ranks. After that, I’ll send people over to take control of Stonebridge City Compound."

"Yes!"
