Originally preparing to head north to explore the Hakko Orbit Line, Lin Xian’s reconnaissance drone captured intense explosion fluctuations, which analysis showed were obviously caused by human weapons.
So he immediately changed route to investigate, and sure enough, he saw signs of Raymond’s team in a battle. Upon discovering there were survivors, Lin Xian’s first reaction was to attempt contact with them to obtain some necessary information.
However, after his reconnaissance drone approached the battlefield, he immediately recognized the Nightwalker Cloak on Raymond’s team members, a cloak he had seen on Zhou Wuer and Peng Peng before. Then, he detected KIKI’s telekinesis wave, and without hesitation, he intervened. After blocking Gao Liren’s investigation last night, he realized this dark energy frequency might resist the scarlet giant wall, so he used it directly on them to avoid accidental harm.
Boom!
Lin Xian, clad in a black Night Star Power Armor, stepped through a bloodthirsty, smoky battlefield. Six thousand "Iron Man" and "Dragon Girl" combat mechas stood silently across the field, with scorched and neatly severed limbs from VK Electric Knives strewn across the ground. These monsters, after being hunted, emitted even more scarlet mist, further reducing visibility.
For the first time deploying his mecha army, Lin Xian at this moment had no mind to focus on evaluating battle data, and directly briskly walked over scorched earth towards the direction of the central protective window.
Swish~
Before reaching the destination, a stream of light suddenly tore through the mist at astonishing speed, racing into Lin Xian’s embrace. The powerful impact caused Lin Xian, wrapped in power armor, to stagger back a few steps. The figure, with all its might, enveloped him in a tight embrace through the cold armor, and a trembling, familiar voice rang in his ear:
"I knew it was you! I knew you definitely wouldn’t die!"
Upon hearing this familiar voice, Lin Xian’s heart shook, and without hesitation, he reached out with both arms and strongly embraced her back through the armor. The two held tight, as time seemed to stand still for a moment. The warm touch in the embrace surged complex emotions within Lin Xian, ultimately condensing into a low and apologetic:
"I’m sorry..."
Unsure how to explain, only an apology remained, after witnessing the eerie planetary head following crystal grid evolution and slumber, and then inexplicably being captured by the Black Star Body, spending three months completing celestial resonance, and waking to a radically changed world bathed in scarlet, everything felt like an afterlife, burdening his mood heavily.
Embracing KIKI heard the apology, her suppressed emotions suddenly erupted, she began sobbing uncontrollably, punching Lin Xian’s chest armor while incoherently crying and cursing: "You damn villain! I thought you’d never wake from your sleep! I thought you were dead! Uhhh..."
At this point, Raymond and his team barely returned to their senses from shock, cautiously gathering around. The brief battlefield calm did not bring peace, as the surrounding scarlet mist violently churned, with unsettlingly numerous rustles and growls emanating from deep within, evidently larger disturbances brewing.
Raymond forced himself to calm down amidst inner turmoil, sharply focusing on Lin Xian: "Are you... Lin Xian the Sword Holder?"
"Yes, it’s me." Lin Xian’s voice came through the mask, steady and certain.
Upon hearing the response, the shocked Liszt and Song Wei behind Raymond gasped.
"Holy crap, you’re really alive?!" Alon couldn’t help but exclaim in astonishment.
"No wonder a safe house suddenly appeared underground, damn, I thought we were captured by something..." Liszt remarked.
Song Wei scrutinized Lin Xian and commented: "Just like the headquarters information, able to create large industrial weapons out of thin air, mechanical superpower is indeed formidable!"
Raymond took a deep breath, gazing complexly at the emotionally erupting KIKI’s back, as the team leader quickly and calmly stated: "It seems the outcome is better than we expected, but now isn’t the time for reminiscence. The scarlet tide might be about to erupt! We’ll be in serious trouble if targeted by too many hunting bodies! Our mission is to rescue you, this place isn’t safe to stay, follow us back to the safe house!" His words were rapid, laced with undeniable urgency.
Lin Xian immediately agreed: "Alright!"
He looked down intending to inquire about KIKI’s situation, yet found this little girl at the moment lacking all composure, like a child wronged and found support, clutching his waist with her face buried in his chest armor, only focused on sobbing "whimpering" continuously, shoulders trembling. Lin Xian’s heart softened, realizing she must have gone through unimaginable fear and hardship alone during this time, he gently patted her back without saying anything further.
Then everyone immediately set off, several ruggedly designed flying motorcycle engines let out low roars, tearing through the viscous scarlet mist and soaring swiftly along the ground, while KIKI took Lin Xian and flew with telekinesis to follow. They raced eastward at low altitude near the ground, soon arriving at a small town near the Hakko Coastline named Parita within blurry vision. Originally, Lin Xian planned to bypass this location as the map showed horrifyingly dense scarlet here, assuming no human presence, unexpectedly finding a Phoenix Society outpost instead.
Following the entire way, Lin Xian surveyed the scarlet-covered seaside town. The town was eerily silent, as if all colors had faded to gray and the buildings seemed to have decayed over twenty years, void of any vitality at a glance. Street corners were littered with all sorts of remains reduced to charcoal, entirely shrouded in mist-like scarlet, standing on such streets, any horror emerging from the scarlet wouldn’t surprise him.
