Lin Xian and Ding Junyi discuss a radical theory: what if human superpower users are merely a 'diffraction' of advanced strange bodies, similar to how taboo items and disaster plants are natural phenomena of a dark world? This suggests humanity's evolution might be inherently limited. Ding Junyi proposes that if this theory is true, understanding the relationship between superpower users and strange bodies, especially concerning their potential mutual impact and the consequences of their deaths, could be humanity's key to survival. Lin Xian recalls anomalous logs from the Nightwalker Organization, suggesting those undergoing Crystal Grid Evolution might be experiencing the actual perspective of strange bodies.

Having spoken, Lin Xian turned and exited the cabin, his footsteps quickening as he headed towards the second ship's hull.

As he traversed the internal pathways of the Sky Dome Starship, an enveloping silence pressed in. Lin Xian's mind kept replaying Ding Junyi's recent words, each thought deepening his astonishment. He recollected inquiries made to KIKI while aboard the Infinity regarding the sudden vanishing of superpower users' abilities. Yet, he hadn't truly witnessed such an occurrence himself, or perhaps he simply hadn't paid close enough attention.

His original objective was to use the visions from the Gray Mist to investigate Star Abyss 13 in the Pacific, intending to observe the Foundation's activities. The Phoenix Society was actively promoting the Age of Deterrence and the Starfire Plan, seeking to bolster the morale of humanity's survivors. Ye Lan likely harbored similar intentions, explaining their decision to split from Chu Yan and act independently.

However, viewing the situation from a new angle, Chu Yan's targeting by the Descent Party might extend beyond his status as a Sword Holder or ties to the South Heavenly Gate.

Contemplating this, Lin Xian's thoughts became complex. His plan was to directly reach Chu Yan via the Black Star Forge. He had initially intended to rest for a few days, but it now seemed the journey to South America, to confront the scarlet firmament, needed to be expedited.

The hibernation pod's automated door slid open, releasing a rush of frigid air. Lin Xian quickly entered and first attended to Monica's condition.

Currently, Monica, resting within the hibernation pod, displayed stable vital signs, the tension no longer etched upon her face. Upon her chest, the crimson veins etched into the Crystal Grid Cultivation Device pulsed rhythmically, a subtle yet potent surge of dark energy throbbing akin to a heartbeat. Observing Monica's slumber, Lin Xian's expression was a mixture of emotions, his mind swirling with a multitude of possibilities.

He promptly seated himself beside Monica's pod, his consciousness delving into the Black Star Forge's domain, initiating a call to Chu Yan.

"Chu Yan, can you hear me?"

After a considerable pause, a deep voice finally resonated from the Black Star Forge's depths.

"I can hear you..."

His consciousness sinking, Lin Xian established a swift connection to a location across the vast ocean. Opening his eyes, he found himself observing a dilapidated apartment room. The window was secured with a corroded iron gate, and the space itself bore the marks of decay and foulness, with half-draped curtains exuding a musty odor. A stark light emanated from a floor lamp, barely illuminating the scene.

Chu Yan, encased in advanced power armor and sporting a full-face mask, stood near the window, peering through the gaps in the gate. "It's night here!"

Recognizing Lin Xian's presence, Chu Yan spoke without turning, "You certainly have a knack for timing."

Lin Xian cleared his throat, "When I last saw you on a mission, I had intended to wait until your return to headquarters before making contact."

"You wish to speak with Professor Ye?" Chu Yan inquired. "I'm on my way back. The Star Gazing Laboratory is still exploring alternative communication channels to reach the South Heavenly Gate, but no success has been achieved yet."

"What occurred?" Lin Xian’s brow immediately furrowed.

Chu Yan cast a sideways glance at him, "The Star Abyss has initiated another surge."

"Accelerating its spread?" Lin Xian pressed.

"No," Chu Yan stepped aside. "The descent was accompanied by the scarlet tide. In the area it engulfs, there shall be no more dawn!"

Lin Xian’s brows drew closer together. He moved to the window and, as he glimpsed the scene outside through the aperture, his pupils contracted sharply.

What lay beyond was no longer the familiar night of mankind. The sky and earth were fractured into swathes of crimson and obsidian, while tempestuous storms, carrying the acrid scent of burnt asphalt, swept across the ravaged landscape like the tendrils of damnation. Skeletal frameworks of towering power pylons, twisted skyward in agony, writhed within the scarlet tempest. The very ground constantly buckled, the entire world seemingly submerged in a corrosive, tropical deluge.

Human cities had utterly devolved into desolate heaps of rubble. Far on the horizon, an ineffable shadow loomed between the heavens and the earth, resembling a gargantuan, demonic deity sculpted from crimson, its form aflame. Merely observing it for a few seconds induced a disconcerting dizziness; one segment of shadow fractured into a myriad of hexagonal voids at its apex, while another stretched infinitely, like a fractal tree, its myriad branches pulsating ominously, defying the very laws of physics. Lin Xian rubbed his eyes, uncertain whether he was witnessing a hallucination or if the external reality itself had become fundamentally distorted.

His eyes shifted upwards, fixated on the sky's dome. The heart of the tempest resembled a watchful eye from a distant galaxy, a vortex of chaos, or perhaps an alien entity coiled within a nebula, now peering down upon their world. This sight triggered an involuntary memory of the Hengshan Pass night sky he’d witnessed previously, which also bore a striking resemblance to an eye. Simultaneously, fragments from the Phoenix Society’s Fire Book surfaced in his mind. Designation: 02, Classification: Iris Star Ring. "Stop gazing intensely," Chu Yan's frigid command echoed, drawing him back. Lin Xian pivoted, his gaze meeting hers. "Do you comprehend? Our world is being consumed!"
